Nice soil mix 💚 one thing as petlite is vitrified any alcalinity isnt soluble so wouldnt, as far as i know, influence the ph 🙏

Thank you 😊 but they are not Japanese maple seeds they are sycamore seeds from the tree near my garden I have hundreds of little sycamores growing everywhere like weeds 🤣

I use hardware cloth (galvanized steel mesh) with 0.5 inch gaps for sieving out smaller pieces of pine bark nuggets

I bought a Deshojo in pure Akadama & it was dense & sludgy.
I'm very much a novice but made a similar mix to yours. The only difference being John Innes no. 3 & coir instead of ericaceous.
Great video, nice to see a new channel.

Perlite is an expanded volcanic glass heated to 1000 degrees c till it pops. Its glass popcorn.

if youve got a garden leaf vac , put the bigger pine chips through it and sieve is out after works great

The perlite is an expanded rock, as such it is sharp, when inhaled will cause micro punctures to your lungs. Over time your breathing may become labored.

Sharp Sand you can get from most hardware stores as its used in the building trade
