- For my dear old Dad's birthday this year, I've made a portrait in the style of one of our favourite artists, Al Hirschfeld!
If you don't know who that is, I HIGHLY recommend looking him up - his stuff is fantastic. Unfortunately, he is also quite deceased... hence the need for the counterfeiting!
This video doubles as a sort of How-to... but don't you go using that information for the forces of EVIL! Forgery can get you in big fat hairy trouble, friends.

Oh my god! Your father was my absolute favorite part of the MMPR movie!
I had the VHS as a kid and my Mom had to hide it from me because I would rewind and giggle at that part over and over for like 20 minutes straight every time I watched it.

I was thinking; you're at the age when having your dad in the Power Rangers Movie would have made you the envy of the schoolyard back in the day.
Alas, I just missed the boat on that one! By the time I was old enough to know what bragging was, Power Ranges was on the way out.
Even so, it would have made for a fun game of "Who is your Daddy, and what does he do!"

I can tell in your artwork and even in your video graphics how you’ve been inspired by Hirschfeld now that I’ve watched this video. Consequently, in your appreciation and inspiration from Hirschfeld, I myself have been inspired by you and begun studying caricature! After scouring the Internet for tips and guides, I can confidently say you are the best damn caricature artist on the Internet. Seriously. Having watched all your Caricatures of the Week and caricature-oriented videos, a video focused on your thought process for caricaturization would make for a great video all on its own.

Thanks Danny! I do intend to make more "How to Draw like X" type videos, and those are very good options! Searle in particular is a favourite of mine.
I highly recommend the Nigel Molesworth books, which Searle illustrated, if you have not come across them already. Funny stuff!

When you said that Hirschfeld was active as an artist for over 80 years, I had to look him up and it turns out he died at the ripe old age of 99 over 20 years ago!
