Been struggling with my fireplace and been reading the manuals and looking at other videos but this is the best instruction by far. a simple comment on how the ignition auto is used… and also where the ash tray was made my fire place going out within minutes to now burning for hours. Thank you so much.
Sorry. I’m not sure. I didn’t have the earlier versions. You’d be best to contact Charlton and Jenrick and ask their parts department. I know they direct sell parts
I have this fire and I cannot move my air control to the solid fuel position - I can move to the left and toward the centre but I can't move to the right
you msut have the DEFRA stop fitted. You CAN - but you sort of need to lift it up and over the little lock that prevents you from using the last (minimum air) position. Wood controls from right to middle. Middle being lowest / off and right to middle for solid fuel.. Just Press up and over a little and it'll jump the lowest position which is stopping it atm. Hope this helps
Can you please help? the single lever at the bottom seems to stick at the centre (off position) when moving from left to right. I would like to try coal on this stove but cannot get the lever to move far enough to the right. Thanks in advance.
I'm guessing you have the DEFRA stop fitted ( which is optional ). I beleive with the DEFRA stove fitted, you need to sort of lift the control up and over to get to the other side
this stove produces a tiny amount of ash. At the end of a 12 hour burn, I have less than a teacup in volume of ash. There are not many stoves now with a cooking top - but I have cooked on top and inside these stoves. MAYBE what you need is a Bakechef cooking stove. You'll find a video about those elsewhere in our channel

Hi, can you tell me what the stove is at 0:20 seconds? It has a brown cardboard box on top.
Thank you
Ah - that’s a Charlton & Jenrick PV8.5 in grey. Those now only come in black. It’s basically a wider / higher output version of the one in the video
Is this a new feature? I have the PV5W and i do not have the drop down baffle
the drop down baffle system has been out for a few years now...

@@naturalheatinghellfirepizza thanks for getting back to me but this doesn't work either. It just sticks in the off position for wood.
@Gavin Corrigan, same as mine, goes left to middle and back but thats it??
@@matyd9010 yep.
I’d like to use some coal but can’t seem to move the lever enough to the right. Seems stuck in the middle (off position for wood)
@@luckybhoy I'm going to ring the supplier tomorrow if I get the chance
