This scene brought me to tears, it’s his use of his talents to express his most honest feelings towards her that moves me. And seeing her surprised face is icing on the cake.
I don't always like musicals but the costumes songs setting etc. were really quality imo.
Ewan McGregor has that naive/innocent boy next door charm and his smile is wow. I think that's why even when he was in star wars I still fell for him😍🥰

What I love sm about this movie is that the songs aren't literally telling the story like in other musicals. You have to really feel the music to understand what's happening, and imagine the emotions beyond words or lyrics. It's not trying to be immersive or realistic-- it's meant to remind you how love is supposed to feel. That's what makes it such a beautiful movie.

Of all the scenes in the film, Ewan McGregor's singing of Elton John's song had made a deep impression in my mind about Moulin Rouge as a whole.

1:22 My favorite part is when Placido Domingo comes in with his gorgeous baritone voice. I love Ewan McGregor's voice, and of course, Nicole Kidman's voice. But when Placido comes in, wow! He makes a beautiful song even that much more beautiful and powerful!
Edit: it was very difficult to find out exactly who's voice it was at 1:22. I originally thought it was Jacek Koman and then someone else said it was Jim Broadbent. However, as it turns out, it's Placido Domingo's voice. There are just some things you can't find out very easily through Google!!🤔

@@missdeejay My bubble isn't burst. In fact, it's completely filled now that you solved the mystery for me. When I first tried finding out exactly who's voice it was, Google led me to Jacek Koman (as playing the red-haired guy...weird!).
However, I found out from someone else (who apparently deleted their comment) that it was Jim Broadbent who was the red-haired guy: the one who played opposite Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman. I had updated my OC to reflect that, but my updated comment didn't get saved for some reason.
Now I have re-updated my OC with all of this, and I hope YT doesn't change my OC back this time!
I had a hard time finding out who played the red-headed guy, whom I'd presumed was the background voice. That's what led to my confusion. My apologies.😢

By the time of that movie i was with this beautiful girl, and we lived that same story, she was so beautiful that i couldn't believe that she was in love with me, she used to dance Belly Dance, and when we were together it was like being in another world a beautiful world, i invited her to my house to watch the movie together we cried a lot and make love in a so passionate way, unfortunately she was with another person too but i was so in love that i didn't care about that, at the end she left me and that destroyed me. Now i only see her on Instagram with her husband and her two beautiful daughters, always wondering if she think about me sometime... Thanks for reading guys, i will always love this movie for ever.
