- I chat about the classic 2005 CCD sensor camera the Nikon D200.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to add any D200 stills in this time (as I haven't got to grips with the video editor yet.)
Notes:
105mm x 1.5 = 157mm equivalent view for 105mm lens on crop sensor body.
The D200 menu allows only 1 non-CPU setting at one time whereas the D3 allows 9 saved settings.
If you want to see some D200 images, then sign up the the 'D3X Users & Fans' Facebook group where I posted some recently. You may need to scroll down quite some way to find them. / nikond3xusers
Great walking around camera.
I really enjoy your older Nikon DSLR camera videos. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Thank You 😃
Great little camera.
Most of this D200 video is about a non-AI lens. Brilliant, guys!
This sounds like Shakespeare's Mark Anthony speech in Julius Caesar. I'm not quite sure whether you're burying me or praising me here. 🤣
@@Cotictimmy Get a shovel, Timmy.
It's fine, @0:20 he says it's all scripted
LOL - there are Christopher Frost type scripts, & there are 'Timmy type Scripts'. They are NOT the same thing. 🤣 @@bagazheful
Just a great camera! Worth every cent u pay for it. I've got two of these. Prices are going up. Can only recommend to buy one as long as they are available at affordable prices.
i just bought one a couple days ago, the price was anywhere from $70-$200+ depending on condition etc
LOVED THIS VIDEO, thank you for sharing your experience with the d200
The D200 just is a lovely little bit of kit. Not a high resolution but lovley colour and handles well without the need to head off into the menus every few seconds.
Yo is it worth. My siblings give me afd 85mm so i believe it will work on this body. Im a fujifilm X series user so idk about nikon
Subscribed.
Hope to see many more videos on your channel.
I suppose it is about time I make another video. 😊
Good review! Thank you, Timmy!
Thanks. Hopefully I can do better once I get to grips with the Shotcut video editing software. (Currently the stuff I try doesn't seem to work as it does in the Shotcut videos I've watched..)
Great Video, have 2 of them with BG's and very low S/A. Works very well with Nikon 17-55mm 2.8 and 50mm AFS 1.4, having fast glass is the key to maximizing The d200's low ISO limits, Ted.
The 17-55 f2.8 is a lens I've never owned but I know it's really great.
Unless you want every shot to have absurd bohkah, fast glass is not the answer to the D200's ISO limits. Your statement is just nutty.
“bohkah”? Hey Jim - could you explain your thinking on this to everyone. Do you have an answer for the D200 ISO limits?
Mate! U looks and sound like a legend.
I am here cause I miss my new d80 and sharp laggy af 18-135 NO VR (didn't have courage to buy magic 50mil Ver G)
and I miss that maga strobo-mod from flash*deep menu
I miss how my wrist hurts from the weight in the cold
miss buttons and iso800 with good noisy WB jpegs
PS sorry f my engishersion
Purchased a D 200 and D300 on eBay and love them.
I think the specific film effect they bang on about CCD sensors is reversal film (positive slide film photography) not necessarily the film look from print film negatives - unless you count the grainy look from the higher ISO's.
The 105 Nikkor is based on a Zeiss design and is one of Nikon's sharpest manual ones.
The 105mm Nikkor F2.8 is the lens used for the "Afghan Girl" photo. Steve McCurry was the shooter.
Most lenses are based on Zeiss designs
@@interestedbystander196 Yes a really sharp shot .
F 2.5 by the way.
@@Adi-hj3nd Do you mean most generally or most Nikon?
I suppose it all boils down how far " based on" can be used.Number of elements, their groups, and positions.
Could you clarify please?
Hi Timmy, thanks for the review. I just bought a very nice d200. It did not come with a cf card. What cf card would you recommend using with this camera? Thanks again.
I have the Sandisk gold Extreme 120 MB/S cards & the silver 50 MB/S cards and also a Lexar Professional 1000X UDMA 7 in my Nikon bodies (those are read speeds but I have D3S, D3X, & a D810 too.) As for capacity in GB, since the D200 is an early, low megapixel DSLR, it doesn't need high speed, high capacity cards. I think it is okay with 4GB, 8GB, & maybe 16GB capacity CF cards. If firmware is NOT already updated to the later versions, then the size of CF card it will accept is likely to be low (ie. 4GB), but with later firmware the camera will accept larger capacity cards. Therefore getting a low capacity card to start with is the safest option - as with it is certain to work, and you will be able to update the D200 to later firmware.
@@Cotictimmy Thanks for the quick response! What you say makes sense. The firmware is not updated, but I have downloaded the necessary files from Nikon's website. Any reputable places to find low GB cards?
I've bought used CF cards with no problems for an eBay seller called Bikers Village (search for 4GB & 8GB CF cards on eBay and you should see that well advertising.) I have a 16GB card in the D200 currently and my firmware version is: A 2.01 B 2.01. Best of Luck. 😊😊@@i_heart_fun
Thank you so much!@@Cotictimmy
