Awesome and entertaining video as always. When you upgraded the ram you changed 3 things: Single to Dual channel, 8 to 16gb, and speed from 2666 to 3200mhz. It would be interesting to know which of these three changes had the most impact. @@besomewheredosomething Dawid was being way too nice. Firstly, you have to deal with that horrible case referring to the form factor. I think only the GPU wasn't skimped on. Also to fix the thermal issues with laptops, you have to turn them into normal PCs with cooling pads, negating the reason for them, portability, and even that desktop in the video was suffering some serious CPU heat issues which will kill performance and lifespan of it.

It always bugged me that manufacturers (especially case manufacturers) were sacrificing performance in favor of sticking as many RGB light strips into a system as possible. I'd rather not burn my CPU to a crisp thank you very much!
i have a little conspiracy theory, so dell uses intel A LOT right, and we know that some sources are very biased towards intel like userbenchmark and they hate amd for market share and stock purposes. so hear me out, what if they picked the non hyperthreading version of the ryzen and paired it with only 8 gigs ON PURPOSE and then marketed it as a “ryzen pc” in order to make AMD look bad. it all just lines up too well
@@HydraggleThat is an actual business strategy

Dawid Does Tech Stuff All the best boet🙂
These are targeted towards people who know little to nothing about computers, why do you need to spec it out to not be garbage? It shouldn't be garbage at all.
Its so good to see a base spec review for one of these machines. so often do you see the top spec only reviews. A lot of good points made to consider when buying one of these. great review Dawid.
I thought that desktop was a ps5
I've been seriously thinking about getting a Ryzen Alienware. Thanks for the video. I'm still undecided but you answered a number of questions I had.
I am glad I could help you out. They are still OEM built gaming systems so they do have their downsides, but if you are into the looks, I think a properly specced one is a decent option.
dear god, please don't get an alienware, I beg of you. If you seriously want a prebuilt, get MainGear or CyberPower.
@@draconicreconcile I've had alienware computers since before and after Dell bought them. Any time I have had an issue, a tech has fixed it within days.

I got one of these for like 1200$, specced with a 10700KF and 2080Super. Probably the best deal I've gotten and works VERY well for me.
My homie spent 1000 and got a i5 9400f, 8gb single stick ram and a 1650 💀
It's only a good deal because of current market situation. The problem with Dell pc's is that they are engineering around a 20 year old chassee to make it fit parts from 2021. PC's didn't need much cooling back then.
@@janis23 ?? its thermals are fantastic, itd be a fantastic price even if everything was being sold for MSRP. the GPU alone costs half of what I paid for the entire setup.
@@Andrew-dl9fm Did you buy used or something? Cheapest R10 in UK is £1700. I don’t think they were so much cheaper a year ago.
@@janis23 Comment was over a year ago, all I really remember was it was on sale and I really had to buy it.
Awesome and entertaining video as always.
When you upgraded the ram you changed 3 things: Single to Dual channel, 8 to 16gb, and speed from 2666 to 3200mhz. It would be interesting to know which of these three changes had the most impact. For example I'm guessing moving to dual channel had the most impact followed by capacity increase, so would most of the performance increase have been possible by adding another 8gb stick at 2666mhz for probably half the cost of the 2 stick upgrade ?

@@DawidDoesTechStuff they were awsome! I honestly want to buy an old one just to build my own rig inside the case xD.
"cheapest" it might be the cheapest but I still cant afford it
Yeah, cheapest in this case does not mean affordable. 😅
Yeah you might not be able to afford this alienware but you can still afford a better computer lol.
Yeah, you could make a much nicer PC for what they charge for theirs lol
David Daniel yeah fax
@@DawidDoesTechStuff I bought mine at about the same time you bought yours...but I went with the cheapest setup using an Intel processor...paid $850.00 US.
So basically you’re paying for the brand and the case lol
Did you listen to the part where he said properly spec'd it only cost around $50 - $80 than a DIY? Properly spec'd and purchased when the price is right, these are solid systems. I buy a new Alienware laptop every new GPU generation and I have been satisfied with the equipment itself.
@@besomewheredosomething Dawid was being way too nice. Firstly, you have to deal with that horrible case referring to the form factor. Secondly, it lacks upgradability because that motherboard was heavily skimped on, also the PSU, memory, and storage were also skimped on as-well, though as you're talking about a Laptop which is just terrible price performance in general I guess it's not an issue for you.
So basically the Apple of PC manufacturers
And the box
You’re forgetting the box
It looks like an optiplex pretending to be a gaming rig and when you rip the side panel off it’s like a scooby doo reveal
True....but the difference is an optiplex is fuck cheaper
The alien ware pcs that i remember looked a lot better when i last visited their website. This one looks lile an electric heater

Great review! So true about the difference the 3200 Ram makes for the Rizen processors! I ran a Ryzen 2600 on my system, and it gained roughly 25% boost in fps on the games I play when I upgraded the memory to dual channel 3200 MHz setup.
