+Hydro360 No mount saint helens is in washington where I live, pompeii is a city in italy where a volcano called mount vesuvius erupted thousands of years ago, hence what the song is about. Saint helens is know for the fact that in 1980 it erupted and the blast was so powerful that it blew most of it's crater off, if you look up before and after pics the difference is insane.

Well, it is all on how you really view death. The tale is tragic due to a volcanic eruption killing many people. Now death can have many faces hidden under his/her hood. This face is that of a pleasant nature, something kind. This is how I see the reaper. I cannot avoid my fate, the curse of life, death. Therefore, I accepted it. Death doesn't always have to be grim, it is a form of acceptance. And death herself is smiling in the hopes that one has accepted that their life was fulfilled in some way, shape, or form before they have approached her....
