Welcome back! I hoped you enjoyed the video! We had a wonderful time, at this epic card show. There were great dealers, great customers, and great cards! If you are in the area, there's another show up in Seattle in November. Hope to see you there!
As a dealer myself, it’s getting very frustrating at shows when repackers feel they can only pay 85%. I completely avoid the percentage of comps thing now and only discount on a per card basis. I’ve been to quite a few shows in my area lately where the words “I need to be”, I have to sell it, too” “What’s your %?”, or “I can pay” are starting to fall on deaf ears. I’m seeing a lot of dealers making sales within the 95% to full sticker range.
That's a very interesting POV. I had heard a little different, that repackers were paying 95-100% comps as they made their money from their repack product. I see a lot of resellers though, who buy at 80-85% and sell at 90-95%. It's definitely frustrating that what we seem to see a lot of is resellers buying, and not actual collectors. So, it's sellers selling to sellers selling to sellers selling to collectors. Too many middlemen today. But I do think that 90% is more than fair since selling on ebay you get hit with 13-15% fees, so at that price you and the buyer both win. Thanks for stopping by. I love hearing other perspectives, so I hope you comment again on future videos and let me know what you are seeing!
@@ThatSportsCardsGuy Great feedback. I get a few regular buyers at shows in my area who feel entitled to their 15-20%. I had one guy set aside $1,150 in cards and ask me for my best. I was priced very competitively to comps and told him “Let’s call it $1,100 even.” He laughed and said “That’s not gonna work me” and then said “Good luck selling cards.” I sold everything he wanted at sticker by end of show. His loss on those for feeling entitled.
@@JBCards-nn9zi I do a few trade nights here in Tallahassee, Florida and i run into the same type of people, even little kids are hitting me the, "I dee to be at..." and "I can do..." When i run into people like that I basically go silent showing them that I am not interested. One pet peeve of mine is devaluing my card(s), you know cards they want to trade for. It's sad that they hype up "their" cards, but find each and every thing they can to devalue a card or card(s) they approached you about. Believe it or not, the same thing happens with cards shops, too. i literally traded a shop owner seven cards and he claimed three of my cards were worth $15, when i knew the "Sold/Comps," I eventually got him to give me 110% in trade for two cards and threw tose three so-called $15 cards into the deal, just to cement it. I came back two weeks later, he had each of the three cards he claimed were $15 for $75 in his showcase.
Awsome video ! I randomly clicked on your video and im happy i did. Im here in tri cities area heee in washington as well. Ive been trying to figure out where the shows are at. I recently made it to the spokane show.
Awesome! I'm glad you liked the video! Yeah, there's some good shows up in Seattle, and in Portland! Front Row is coming back in November. I think it's in Tacoma.

Great video! Thanks for sharing your experience. As an east coaster, it’s nice to see the West Coast represent! Nice Jordon pick up too.
