Legendary Ninja I think that's part of the reason. Even 4Minute themselves knew it might not do well - they actually posted a video begging fans to listen to the song - they were worried that they might end up losing support from Cube and having to disband if it failed. Sadly Hate was their worse selling major release in years in spite of it being popular with Western fans

Just so yall know Kpop doesn't mean they exclusively make pop music. There are a lot of genres and subgenres that fall under that category. I think they just label it kpop because it's popular music from Korea. Also groups don't usually stick to just one genre they experiment with different sounds quite often, altho they have a signature vibe and style to distinguish them from others.
Anyways sadly 4minute has disbanded but they made a lot of iconic songs check out their song Hate, also Hyuna, one of the members, is a successful solo artist and since yall were talking about sex appeal last time, yall gotta check the Queen of sex appeal. Her song Red and How's This are bops

4 minute disbanded in 2016 but Hyuna is still active as a solo artist and has lots of great songs “Red” “Roll deep”, “hows this”

Knew Wilkins would love that production edit. Fun fact, their names are on the bucket hats. Hyuna a member of this group, has several solo songs. 90% of which are probably the most overtly sexy kpop videos you will ever see from a female idol. She was in Psy's Gangnam Style music video too. I low key think you should probably watch some of the sexier boy groups too, like Monsta X. Lastly, I feel like Pat's comments about whether this was kpop or not definitely highlights how you haven't seen k-hip hop or k-rap fully. Kpop is pop. Usually an amalgamation of musical genre influences. Different groups lean on specific genres more but in the end they are all pop. This is not to take away from any of their hard work or to say that they are less than those that focus on one genre.
