Couldn't hold back the tears comparing how Vito and Michael died and considering how the real tragedy of the trilogy is Michael Corleone, the son that just wanted a normal life but he just couldn't because family was important above all else. So much for family; he died alone.
Well in the updated version of the third film (called The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone) he doesn't actually die, which is quite ironic considering the new title. The movie ends when he puts on those glasses, it cuts out the part where he dies and falls off the chair.
Everyone noticed the nuance in dying scenes of Vito and Michael? Vito died with a kid playing around him near orange trees. But Michael dies with only a dog 🐕 with him holding just one orange. Now, THIS is what great cinema is about. The most subtle subtext in cinematic history.
That is why I love the godfather 2. It's a parallel between Vito creating an empire around the idea of a family, making more and more friends, and Michael growing this same empire while putting aside or killing friends and family.
Best movie ever made, The Godfather inspired generations, those movies are beautiful, they’re ART, Masterpiece, every wonderful word can describe these 3 films, Marlon Brando is the best actor ever

Woah! Finally. Now, here’s where your talent shines; the choice of fade in transitions. That is a damn great thing. Now, I wanted this to be a half an hour long. Since it’s not, I want another part plzzzzz.
Xander Fuhrer I think you missed what I meant. There are no immediate cuts in the video. And fade in’s are the most effective and poetic because they add to the heavy moving nature of it. And it creates a sorrowful flow of one shot into another. An inevitable transcendence.
@@rahultej2248 I meant in relation to his others videos, where he always used immediate cuts. I understand what you meant, and agree fade cuts can feel transcendent, like the opening of Apocalypse Now. I just feel like in this instance, where a collection if shots are gathered and cut together to build a sort of tone poem tribute to a film, I personally feel like direct cuts work better. I'm glad you enjoyed it though, I love that feeling, finding something that really connects with you :) for me that was with his vids on Breaking Bad, Portrait of a Lady on Fire and his Blade Runner stuff.
Xander Fuhrer 🤝👍 Merely a subtle subjectivity. But, I completely feel you. Wouldn’t have been disappointed with quick cuts also coz now I know what you meant by how poetic it is.
Bellissimo! I just adore Gordon Willis' cinematography for these movies. And to think the studio complained about it being too dark because they thought they would lose business from the drive-in theaters.
All the clips and footage is so raw yet so themed towards the movie. Not only is the Godfather movie incredible, but the creator of this video is also very very good, i love your channel man.

@@derwunze8147 Yeah, the visuals weren't the problem, it's that the were was no significant plot in the last two. It was just a studio trying to milk the most out of a masterpiece, which ended up in to mediocre movies
My cinema did a 50th anniversary screening of both of the 2 Godfather movies. I went for Part 2 and it was just a surreal experience. The soundtrack of that movie gave me goosebumps and at certain points, I felt like the soundtrack itself was a character in the movie because of the way they used it in some scenes (especially the flashback scenes for Vito Corleone).
