Rewatch the game it was pretty obvious that was happening but people dont seem to be talking about that. Back again, it depends on referee...According IFAB: Only the referee can initiate a ‘review’; the VAR (and other match officials) can only recommend a ‘review’ to the referee... In previous condition maybe the referee may not feel the need for VAR, and the VAR officer can only recommend it to the referee and not force the referee to use VAR. If the referee decides not to use & watch VAR, the VAR official cannot do anything...so again it depends on the referee... The simple way is to just follow the rules, no matter what, if you don't wanna put yourself at risk
The fact that the referee took 5 minutes to make a decision for a hand penalty was very unprofessional when it was clearly a penalty. Those 5 minutes that the ref wasted just to add unnecessary extra time. In a penalty kick out they should review the penalty before ending the game. Not after almost 10 minutes when the game was over. Very unprofessional that ref should be suspended.

Eh I don't get it. I always thought that a VAR decision needs to be made very quickly after the controversy in question occurs. In the game var was only brought a couple minutes after. Especially applicable when this happens at the end of a game and, assuming he did (I can't remember), when the referee puts an end to the game. There's probably a few discrepancies here that I'm some replier out there helps clarify for me.
Per the laws of the game, you can not end a game on a penalty kick. So, when the America goalkeeper saved Nashville’s penalty, and the referee blew the final whistle and all the America players celebrated, the VAR looked at the replay of the penalty save (albeit he looked wayyyyyy later than he should’ve, he should’ve called a retake immediately and not 3 minutes later), the VAR saw that the America goalkeeper was off his line before the taking of the penalty and the save, so the VAR told the referee that the penalty save was with improper procedure and the referee ordered a retake of the penalty. He was allowed to order a retake of the penalty even though he blew the whistle to end the game because, like I said earlier, the ONLY moment when a referee is not allowed to end the game, is during a penalty. And since the penalty save was improper, the referee HAD to order a retake, despite blowing the final whistle. To be honest the main issue is that the VAR took wayyyy to long to rewatch the penalty and confirm it was taken with proper procedure, but, it was the correct call. Hope that helps 👍

The first half the ref never called a CLEAR hand ball and the one on the second half was even more CLEAR than pure water and they checked it like 50 times. ROBBED....
Honestly, i feel bad for club america but i see 0 corruption here.. Everything was done correctly. 1) game has to go to 99th/100th minute because var + pk + celebration didnt end until around 94 ish. There was 5 minutes extra time, add the 4 ish because of all that. Thats 99/100. No issue there 2) Goalie is 100% off his line. Per rules, thats a 100% re-take. Club america celebration in irrelevant because they didnt know there was a violation, so they are obviously going to celebrate the win. VAR then saw he was off his line so they HAD TO bring it back.. Only thing is that line ref shouldve caught that right away and call it right there to avoid this headache. Overall, great game. Congrats Nashville, hard luck Club America

This was an open robbery, it is disgusting the corruption in these tournaments. Everything is prearranged to make everything easy for Messi. They knew America was the only team capable of doing that. If you see all the penalties, the Nashville 's goal keeper moves, and they never checked the VAR, it was an open robbery. Corruption in the U.S. is blatant nowadays.
The difference is that Nashville's keeper had a foot behind the line before the ball was kicked. When America's jumped, both of his feet were in front of it. If you wanna ague it's a stupid rule, go right ahead. I agree. Saying it's "corruption" is a big stretch though and kinda funny from the team that expressed their frustration at the "corruption" by pelting the team with glass that was just playing to win the game like any other team would have. Mexicans are saying this was a robbery, well I’m about to correct them. First they’re saying it was way past over time. And for the penalty, yes the goalie jumped out of he’s line. They took a little longer to call it but they did. Now it’s America’s fault for missing the pen after that. Both teams have the equal opportunity to score a pen. And Nashville completed.

Goalie was off his line before the kick so it was a legitimate call! Rewatch the game it was pretty obvious that was happening but people dont seem to be talking about that. So anyways congrats to Nashville and sorry America it was a good run but you didn't get robbed.
Yeah...Rule :
1. When the ball is kicked, the defending goalkeeper must have at least part of one foot touching, in line with, or behind, the goal line

@@jayddominguez9302 After i watch replay full PK again, although Nashville GK moving, he still have one foot touching, in line or behind...

I understand that the Americans and to a lesser extent Canadians are upstarts - even intruders - in terms of world football.

Apparently this type of thing has happened before.

On Layun's penatly its quite clear in the replay that the keeper kept his left foot behind the line. He moved before the shot, but that is allowed as long as he kept the foot there.

People can talk crap if they want about the league, either way that game was insane.
These salty fans dont know how to handle a loss do they? Even though they saw the goalie was off his line.
Fr, like my team was eliminated on pens with questionable calls throughout the game and I haven't been salty unlike these liga mx fans
They always find a way to complain 😂
Most of us arent even america fans but we can clearly see the rigging concashit does for messi league soccer. its obvious but keep believing in your fake chocolate cup for frionel pepsi fc lol what a clown🤡🤡🤡
@@TufPapi69gawkgawk Calling a rule correctly is not rigging. That's yinzer logic
@@wittybanter96Nashville goalie was off his line too on the last one. No repeat
Looking at these gringos trying to justify the Messi cup is funny 🤣
Muchas pero muchas felicidades NASHVILLE FC🇺🇲❤️. Ojalá que la MLS 🇺🇲❤️😎 🦾🛡️ participe en la copa libertadores y sudamericana
Bro, the copa libertadores is not like this league cup garbage! The mls plays all their games at home. 😂 mls is not good enough to play South American teams away from home!!
its definitely more about safety concerns lol. mls teams and fans would quite literally be slaughtered in mexico.@@LewisC-iu3hh
@@LewisC-iu3hh Yes, just good enough to play Mexican teams on the road in preseason in the knock out rounds. You know, when the best teams are left and not some scrub island team you can beat with 1 week of practice.
Vete a dormir con tus equipos chicos de la libertadores los únicos buenos son los brasileños
@@hillsane9262 Mexican league has won 18 out of the last 20 conca champions. That says if all. MLS can’t compete with Liga mx when they have two leg matches home and away.
Hahahahhaa, the amount of CFA fans talking about robbed, to much added time etc. Cry some more and learn the rules
Maybe Nashville sports talk will finally take 5 minutes out of their programming and talk about this team tomorrow. Oh, who am I kidding? It's just gonna be hours and hours of talking about how the Titans' O-line sucks again.
We delta with that for decades in Columbus with the Crew Ohio State football and Bluejackets hockey it's hard to even get in a minute about the Crew.
But since we got our new owners and stadium DOWNTOWN the news cover the Crew all the time now
Or how Th’ Univers’ty of Tennussee has been wronged every season since Johnny Majors roamed the sidelines. I gave up on those guys years ago. Unlistenable, especially Jared Stillman and Bill King.
What is there to talk about tho? Nashville came out to defend the whole match haha infront of there home crowd, the ref was on there side the whole match, Nashville GK also took a step forward when he stopped Layun's penalty and it wasn't re-taken, didn't call a 1st handball inside penalty box for America, I can keep on going.. that's all Nashville Sports would have to talk about, so let's just leave it to the Titans lmao.
@@cesarespinosa7616atleast one foot has to be on the line, and it was
@@eggsngritstn Yeah. I made the mistake of texting Jared about that earlier for his show
Okay. I'm not going to debate whether or not the America keeper of offline. But He def was better than Willis. Also I would love to see a 2v1 between Messi Vs Mukhtar and Surrige.
WHAT A GAME!! I love how you odnt say the score in the title, i thought it was all over at 2-1
Yeah a lot of our fans left when America scored their Pen
Mexicans are saying this was a robbery, well I’m about to correct them. First they’re saying it was way past over time. The added time was 5 minutes which started from minute ‘93 because that’s how long it took America to take the penalty. Nashville goal was scored at ‘98 under the 5 minute mark starting from ‘93. And for the penalty, yes the goalie jumped out of he’s line. They took a little longer to call it but they did. Now it’s America’s fault for missing the pen after that. Both teams have the equal opportunity to score a pen. And Nashville completed.
To all the fans who left the stadium early because you thought it was over… This is a case study of why you stay until all the players have left the field so that way you know it’s over.
I agree 💯
We just wanted to get out cuz the Mexican fans were going crazy
Le robaron el partido ami querido américa 😢😢
How is this rigged?🤔 América was given a pen to put them up 2-1 in the 93rd minute, all they had to do was NOT let nashville score. When Nashville scored and was given the opportunity to win the game in PENS it became whoever’s game, doesnt matter what bs refs pulls, DONT let Nashville score and pens never happen🤦♂️
They scored in the 98 minute when there was only 5 minutes of extra time.
5 mins extra time yet they scored 90 + 9 minutes
Also all the keep had to do was not jump off his line.
@@cristianhernandez6721So you just gonna ignore the fact that VAR was used in the extra time and CFA spent over a minute celebrating? Nothing special about adding the time they wasted
@@jaimep3432blud doesn’t know math 💀

I’m glad America lost there so cocky and ended up loosing 😂
I'm Mexican, club America got a taste of their own medicine, they do this all the time in the Liga MX Karma 🤣🤣😂☝️ lets go Monterey!!!
Just like any Mexican out there lol 😅
Como dice el dicho "ladron que roba ladron tiene 100 anos de perdon" Jajajaja.
Thats the dumbest rule ever. Every keeper moves off the line before the kicker even touches it. If he could have been off the line and gotten further up on the line then yeah but some bs
