Thank you Fr. Mike for your continued prayers and support. Since I started listening to you in BIAY 3 years ago and this year in CIY, my life, my outlook, my relationship with God as well as with my husband has "bloomed" exponentially. I used to pray less than 5 minutes when I wake up and sometimes, when I remember, to say my night prayers. Now, I spend more than 3 hours (sometimes I fall asleep while praying sitting down, but I refocus and go back to what I miss). You have helped me save my soul, Fr. Mike. I thank the Lord God Jesus Christ for you. May God bless you now and ever. Thank you Lord God for opening the eyes of my heart so I can hear your call.
Bravo Father! I think this was one of your best and thank you for explaining St. Paul. Absolutely beautiful. Prayers for you and all of our CIY community.
I love the way you, Father Mike, explain the catechism. I am 64 years old and have learned so much from the catechism in a year from you even though I am a cradle Catholic and attend Mass regularly. I love how you explain things to put a positive to those things that have always seemed negative. Thank you.
I'm praying for all Catholic married couples. Don't stop learning about your catholic faith. The world wants to teach you a selfish life, that only you matter and that you shouldn't have to sacrifice for others....it's not true. You will find fulfillment in serving others as loving them. 🙏 for the USA 🇺🇸
He that is weary of sin, come: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit! Hear me when I say, ye that are Catholic have been deceived and know not God. Ye worship Mary, praying to her; when God tells his to worship none other than him. It is idolatry. Catholicism has its own Bible and teachings, which are blasphemous to the word of God: the Holy Bible. As ye follow the teachings of man and not God; ye hear the pope, but not Jesus, yet ye claim to be his disciples! These are but a few things I named ye dwell within; there are many more. I tell you now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father! There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you! They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God... Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask: "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen." Revelation 22:8-9 KJV 8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. Acts 2:38 KJV 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13 KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? John 14:21-24 KJV 21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.* 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.* 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.* 3 John 1:11 KJV 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. *He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.* 1 John 3:6-10 KJV 6 *Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.* 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: *he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.* 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 *Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.* 10 *In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,* neither he that loveth not his brother.
Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your service. Prayers for your intentions and all of our brothers and sisters in need of prayer, worldwide, especially those in need of purgatorial prayer ❤❤❤
Please pray for couples who are in marriages with the situation of “disparity of cult” (worshipping differently between Catholic and non Catholic). Triune God provide a path to regularize their marriages with sacramental character! Jesus, I trust in you through Ever Virgin Most Powerful Mother of God, Mary! Saint Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us especially for marriages to make saints of husbands and wives and any future children-see you all in heaven by the grace of God! Monday, August 14, 2023
Father, may everything that I do this day, whether it be full of joy or pain, whether it be full of love or of grief, I ask that everything I go through today be offered to you just like Jesus offered everything to you. It is in his name we pray. Amen. 8/12/2023.
As one who was married many years I would like to give good advice, mutual submission is so important, I guess after being married so long we kind of knew when to give in to each other and much forgiveness is necessary, hang in there it’s so beautiful growing old together ❤
This is where I love the expression the Roman Catechism of 1566 gives for the duties of Husbands and Wives in light of the life passion and death of Christ. From the outside this can look like dictatorship and these destructive toxic views influence the distruction of a marriage. It is beautiful to love unconditionally and suffer for your spouses salvation. Thank you father mike for your prayers over those marriages suffering in the spiritual battle over the family. God bless you in this work.
I wish I heard this when I got married.....that was 44 years ago .......I just love learning more about our Faith. Thank you Fr Mike. Praying for you and everyone here. God bless🙏❤️🙏
Lord, we thank You for Your gift of Holy Matrimony, which might seem impossible, but through Your Grace can be an example of Your Church here on earth. Thank you, Father Mike, for helping us sort through the challenging parts of the sacrament. We appreciate your heart of love and prayers for all of us. We are praying for you, too.
Prayer for marriage “Heavenly Father, we come before you to thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our lives and marriage. Lord, we come before you on this day, Father, asking for a stronger bond of unity in our marriage covenant. Lord, we pray that you will give us the power to be a united front for you.
Thank you for sharing the importance of the phrase involving submission to spouses and also the significance of marriage. God bless you, Fr. Mike and Team Ascension!
At the risk of sounding cynical (which I am not), I wonder if the majority of people getting married today have any idea what this sacrament and commitment truly mean ? I don’t think most Catholics are ever taught in this way. We have to do a much better job instructing persons who are contemplating this great step in life! I pray today for all married couples and all preparing for this holy commitment. 🇨🇦🙏🙏🙏🤔🇨🇦 Thank you Fr Mike
I've heard it said that almost all married couples could qualify for an annulment because most couples have no clue as to what they are saying "yes" to, what they are saying "I do" to. It's more, "this is what people, I, do" not "this is what people, I, "commit "to. We were involved in pre Cana for over 30 years. So frustrating and sad to contend with the lack of focus and understanding and almost dismissiveness as to their importance. Two days ago my husband and I celebrated 55 years of hard work, challenge and incredible blessings. But 55 years ago, I barely had a clue. Our marriage prep consisted of one comment, "You know that marriage is a commitment " with no follow up. Foolish as we were, we both said "yes". Thank God for the grace of the sacrament and for suffering, loving and protecting all of us foolish lovers
My husband and I have been married for 47 years and I can honestly say I had a distorted view of the sacrament of marriage. Our Catholic up bringing did not prepare us sufficiently for marriage. My ignorance and immaturity worked against everything a marriage should be. God showed us His loving patience and through perseverance our love survived and grew. After listening to the CIY presentation today, I wish we had had access to a “FR. Mike” figure back in our early days. We faced many struggles, and we have received many blessings. We all need guidance in our faith journey. Retrospect has taught me well. God is Good. Fr. Mike is here now to help. Thank God!
I'm not an expert, but most Catholic churches now have pre-marriage preparation classes required for all couples. However, most couples don't want to go through this because they think it's a waste of time, (we love each other, what else is there to know?). Part of the preparation class, the priest teaches what you hear in the CCC and a seasoned married couples acts as mentors to what our married life is about, our day to day struggles, our joys, sadness and love. 8/13/2023 Cancel Reply
Who knew marriage was so holy? I've never heard of marriage or contemplated marriage as almost transcendental. It really is beautiful when understood in the way it is meant to be.
Outstanding message, Fr. Mike! Very few teach the Catholic view of leadership as one of total service to others. If more understood this call, we would have better leadership in our churches and governments.
Yes I wish this had been explained like this when my parents were married and have children it's on time now thank you for other great lesson and food for thought and I pray for you father Mike I pray for my community and thank you for praying for me you all have a beautiful evening and sleep well night night God bless
The sacrament of Holy Matrimony gives special strength and supernatural grace to spouses to take up their ✝️ cross and follow Christ, in submission and mutual trust. Husband is the Head of the family like Jesus, the Head of His church. It's a leadership of service - its aim is to help each other in attaining holiness. Their roles are complementary, equal in dignity to be free, total, faithful and fruitful.❤❤❤
This is so beautiful and powerful. It would be a blessing to many people if this can also be shared in the homilies at Masses so that the whole community can also understand what marriage life is in God's plan and know how they can support couples(and each other), families and those discerning married life as well. I have been married for 20 years and am grateful to be reminded of how great this Sacrament is and that God is in the midst of us. God bless you more Father Mike 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Fr Mike, this topic on marriage has been so insightful. I really am lost for words right now. I do wish that this becomes part of marriage preparation in the future for all couples.

Day 224 Thank you so much Father Mike Schmitz and Ascencion press / presents. Viva Cristo Rey. Ave Maria Purisima gratia plena pray for us. Help us to be better followers of Christ / Cristo.
Wow, honestly, throughout my 43 years of marriage to the same grand lady, I now realize that all along the way I have striven to serve my wife, my children their children and more. Father Mike in one class presentation here has opened a super Catholic realization in how I have engaged in my marriage I never realized the gravity of that service. Thanks be to God no doubt.
So profound. A wonderful explanation of this meaning. I was just too young when married. My ex took this literally to mean the wife was to submit to having sex any time he wanted. I was in an abusive marriage, mentally, verbally, sometimes physically. Very controlling, jealous, angry & vindictive. Had a temper. It really showed up after we were married. He did hit me before we were married & we broke up but I guess I was just naive. Too many years of living like this. I built a wall to protect myself. Finally I was done. Told him I wanted a divorce & that's when he totally snapped. Locked me in the bedroom & pulled a gun on me & said he was going to kill me. There's no coming back from that. I believe with all my heart God & His angels were there. I could feel the power . Plus my parents. I managed to talk my way out. Nine years have gone by & he died last year. He managed to turn my daughter & son in law against me. Haven't talked to her in 8 years or even my now 15 yr old grandson. My son was there. He knows all too well. He has accused me of having affairs & of being a lesbian. None of which are true. It was between just us. I know this is long, never intended to say any of this. But if you got this far, how do I heal from all this? I pray the rosary every night. I dedicate a decade to my daughter & other's. Every single day I think of her, my grandson. My heart is shattered. I don't want to die without making amends. I should never have typed this, but I got this far. Maybe someone can tell me something I haven't heard before. My kid's were my life. Thanks for listening.
All I can say is what you are already doing: Pray Is there any way your son would be willing to help explain this to them. It is so sad when parents use children as a weapon. My heart goes out to you and I will pray for you and your extended family. 🙏🙏🙏
Surrender ALL OF IT to Jesus. Look up and find the surrender novena. You can not fix any of it. God knows all of it. What you went through and the heartache you live with now. Surrendering to God's Divine Will, I believe is the only answer. I too have a story, like many of us. These last few days in CIAY have been difficult. It's made us question ourselves. Even after years of confessions, Penance, and reparations. Satan will continue to try and find ways to attack us in our weaknesses. I'm living through a particular heartbreaking situation that started 2 weeks ago. I'm on my second surrender novena. It's helped to stop or at least slow the flow of tears. I have to stop and repeat throughout the day, Jesus I surrender myself to You, take care of everything. God loves you more than any human being ever can. You are His daughter and He will take care of you. You will go to judgment on your own and only be accountable for yourself. If others choose not to be part of your life you have to surrender them to God also. God bless and keep you dear one💝 You are not alone❣️ Sending prayers🙏💕💖
@@sandischorling1055My heart hurts for you.❤️🩹🙏❤️🩹Just know God surrounds you with His love. Our Lady wraps you in her mantle❤️💔❤️🩹❤️ Our prayers rise to God for you, carried by angels.❤️😇🙏😇❤️ You are not alone. Offer it all, the physical, mental, & emotional pain to our Lord & join it to Christ’s pain on the cross. You are carrying your cross, offer it up. Let go & surrender the anger & hurt - forgive your ex-husband & your daughter, for your own sake. It’s so difficult, but worth it for the peace you gain. I speak from experience. I forgave my abuser & pray for his soul, that we’re able to meet & love with God’s love in heaven. I’m praying for you, dear sister in Christ, & sending my love.❤️🙏❤️
The Sacrament of Matrimony establishes a perpetual and exclusive bond between the spouses. God Himself seals the consent of the spouses. Therefore, a marriage that is ratified and consummated between baptised persons can never be dissolved. Furthermore, this sacrament bestows upon the spouses the grace necessary to attain holiness in their married life and to accept the gift of children and provide for their education. Lord, strengthen my marriage as you dwell in my spouse and me. 🙏
The concept of a Domestic Church is what my wife brought into our marriage. It is to this that we attribute the life that we are blessed with - and not "luck!"
God's love is always, free, total, faithful, and fruitful. Mutual respect of dignity. Neither is the weak one. Submission has its basis on mutual trust first. When these things were all lacking from the start, including a very short period of getting to know each other and winding up in pregnancy there is no marriage. Sad but true, there are solid reasons for annulment. Even more sad are the very high percentage of marriages that start out without the benefit of believing, understanding, and following through with all that we are learning through this part of our blessed Cathecism. So very much to pray over as we learn more each day. Bless all who are following along through CIAY. 🙏💕💝
In the past five years I’ve had intense physical pain several times and each time all I wanted was for my husband to be there before anything else. In fact, on two occasions I was screaming for my husband.
19:52 Four Marks of God's love: 1. Free- When God enters into a covenant with us, it's always free. He's never coerced into it. 2. Total- Definitive self-giving. I give you my whole self. 3. Faithful- You and none other. 4. Fruitful- It is open to life. Open to fertility.
We miss them both! My son kept saying, 13:15 I Can't live without my Dad! My son died from Broken Heart Syndrome, his heart just stopped in the middle of the night. We tried to revive him. But it was too long!💔💔💙
Day 224 isn't working on the Ascension app. It stopped playing around 7 min. And the 223 paragraphs were off a day 😅 I miss the dialogue in this community on TH-cam too 😅😅😅 praying for everyone! Please pray for me!! 💞🙏
When husbands and fathers stopped being the leaders of the family many problems ensued. Yes the leader has an awsome responsibility. I never felt humiliated by acknowledging his authority. The children needs a their father to be head of the family.
August 12, 2023 Do you have 45 seconds to pray for in Purgatory with me? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: The Prayer of St. Gertrude Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen
Greetings Father Mike, Thoughts :- -> Message reflect with, "The Sacramental Marriage helps to seek The Spiritual Gifts and Divine Grace through Faithful Communion and Spiritual Examen towards Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Church in all aspects of Life." -> Thanks Father, Team Ascension Press for Valuable Insights. With regards, Ranjith Joseph (R.J)
You talked about how the head of the home (husband) serves from the bottom. My David as a Knight of Columbus said that the higher your position in the organization, the more you are serving those who are below you. If you are in the Chapter, you need to be available to the Grand Knight of the local council for instance. I also remember a line from The Waltons, "You can go to our father and ask and get an answer." You can go to God the Father and ask and get an answer. My daughter asked God, "What do you want me to do? If you want me to be married, show me the man I'm supposed to marry. If not, then show me what to do with my life." God's answer was to marry the wonderful man she married. He is an extremely faithful man and loves her so much.
Just wanted to share that I went to a fully Latin Mass today for the first time in many, many years. Everything was in Latin except for the Gospel and the homily. The Eucharist was given with the faithful kneeling, and only on the tongue. If you put up your hands you would not receive the Eucharist. It was so beautiful and brought back so many childhood memories! But… I have to admit… I missed the Mass in English and being able to participate!
Day 1 St Servulus Novena patron against cerebral palsy O St Servulus, you desired always to give praise and honor to the Lord our God. Together with you we offer our thanks and praise to the Lord Almighty. O St. Servulus, you were afflicted with palsy from birth yet you never complained about sufferings and cheerfully lived a life devoted to Christ and His word in Holy scripture. On account of your meritorious suffering, I ask for your intercession for the complete healing for Deborah Hamilton and her husband, my sister Alice and all those with cerebral palsy. Intercede for me also to always be cheerful in the Lord. St Servulus pray for us. Amen. Our Father Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, Amen. Hail Mary Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. ❤🙏❤
Day 4 - St. Helena Novena In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Holy and blessed Saint Helena, with the anguish and devotion with which you sought the Cross of Christ, I plead that you give me God’s grace to suffer in patience the labors of this life, so that through them and through your intercession and protection, I will be able to seek and carry the Cross, which God has placed upon me, so that I can serve Him in this life and enjoy His Glory ever after. Amen (Mention your request here… for the intentions of Jmjemmanual, Jstuhldreher11's family and all of our brothers and sisters in need of prayer, worldwide, through Christ our Lord. Amen. ) St. Helena, pray for us! Say 1: Our Father… Say 1: Hail Mary… Say 1: Glory Be… Our Father Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, Amen. Hail Mary Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen. Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. St Helena pray for us! Patron Saint of difficult marriages, divorced people converts, of new discoveries 🙏❤🙏
How aboutl this analogy: Husband is head of household, wife is the neck. The head cannot do anything without the neck. There needs to be cooperation and working together. Jesus loves us.
Beautiful, too bad this was not what was understood or lived by marriage or even taught by marriage preparation. Marriage has been man has all the rights, women became literally servants because of that word"submit".Please don't tell me this is not true. I work in a domestic violence shelter and I see this daily. I have had women come up to me and told that their Priest/ Pastor insisted that they stay in their abusive situation, because they were married in the Church, or that is what you chose, you need to pray more, your not doing your part - or my favorite - marriage is until death do you part. Not once have I ever heard such a wonderful explanation like today. We need more priest like Father Mike. God bess.
I'm having hard time loving my husband. I'm comparing him to my other previous boyfriends, who are successful, educated etc. Please pray for me, I'm falling.
I will pray for you that you can & will concentrate on your husbands good qualities. You have no idea what those old boyfriends of yours are really like behind closed doors. 🥰🙏🙏🙏
So what happens in an Annulment. Is that person in polygamy if he remarries since the CCC says you can never dissolve the validity of the Sacrament of Matrimony?

💘💐💘Thank you💘💐💘
Bravo Father! I think this was one of your best and thank you for explaining St. Paul. Absolutely beautiful. Prayers for you and all of our CIY community.
Tnx Fr.Mike 👍🤗💐🙏➕🛐🔥📖🧡🕊🧡
Praying for Fr. Mike & CIY 🙏🙏🙏 In this Day224 of the CIY towards the bottom is the Marian Consecration by TrixRN day31. 🥰🙏❤❤🥰

Thank you for your prayers! Is couples need it more than ever in a world like right now. God bless
You are spot on with that. Thank you. Amen.

Every couple planing marriage should hear this
I've heard it said that almost all married couples could qualify for an annulment because most couples have no clue as to what they are saying "yes" to, what they are saying "I do" to.
I think churches should use CIY in their Sacramental instruction processes now that it is available!

This is transformational!!!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇

Thank you for this leadership explanation Fr Mike 💗🙏💓🙌
Yes a lot of talk but very good talk.
Forgive him and maybe your daughter will forgive you?
God bless and keep you dear one💝
You are not alone❣️ Sending prayers🙏💕💖

@@KB_2161 Sometimes I forget my CALM pill; TAKE daily 3 x a Day.
🕯🙏🕯

yes father, couples have some elbows and eyebrows about it.
You used to say pray for each other.
He said it the other day and apologized for forgetting to say it
It's assumed . But if it helps, I'm praying for you and everyone listening to this podcast. 8/13/2023

God bess.

So what happens in an Annulment. Is that person in polygamy if he remarries since the CCC says you can never dissolve the validity of the Sacrament of Matrimony?
The annulment proves that a true sacramental marriage wasn't present, so there is nothing to dissolve. You are free to marry again in the church.
He with ears, hear:
Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit!
Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask:
"Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen."
Revelation 22:8-9 KJV
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Acts 2:38 KJV
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Luke 11:13 KJV
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.*
3 John 1:11 KJV
11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. *He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.*
1 John 3:6-10 KJV
6 *Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.*
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: *he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.*
