If you don't care to Export -> Import, you can use the "Move/Copy Bodies" command, there are two modes you can be in; "Constraints", or "Translate/Rotate". Check the help for more information.
There are videos stating you need to create reference geometry and assign the origin then save it out with the new origin but this only seems to work if the planes are aligned when they are imported, for parts for ex. catia where the part is in air plane coordinates I cannot seem to change the origin.... tried a lot videos... only way for me to through the day is to translate the origin in catia and save out...
Hi. thank you so much for the video, but is it possible to do this with a .sldprt file ? cause when I want to save as my file, there is no Option button! Please reply & thanks ! :)
Off-topic question: When I click and drag my left mouse button, SolidWorks 2015 defaults to selection/highlight. Any way I can default the left mouse button to rotate? I've googled all sorts of ways to fix this, but ultimately I've reluctantly settled on a keyboard shortcut to enable "rotate view".
This the basic things very few people have videos on this particular topic ur epic . It helps a lot in camworks
Thank you so much! I have had such a hard time finding this anywhere

fixed in later versions
Can this be done in a .prt/.sldprt file? If so, how do I save it in order for the new cordinate system to be taken as the global one?
Good
