I was just thinking the same thing. With Narvaez also winning his first GC at TDU as soon as he left Ineos. It doesn’t reflect well on that team.
Oh man. You are right. Narvaez leaves and wins, the Tom leaves and wins. 😂
Clearly there is already a battle forming to win the knucklehead award for 2025 going on between the two teams. 👊👊😂
"they hit the knuckle head button" that's gold I'm using that one . Great work Horner.
Jayco/AlUla pulls ahead in the Knucklehead of the Year category. Yes the season has just started but they are showing a consistency of incompetence that bodes well for the future. The question is, can they continue to ride at this inept a level for the entire year? Only time will tell.
⏰⌛️⏳😂👊
Pidcock is racing angry and motivated - don t know what Ineos said but they lit his fuse
This is why Pidcock not getting wins for a long while was such a big deal. No one would care if he just wasn't good enough. I'm glad he's doing well in his new team.
but stil it was huge risk for tom ;)
Yep. Everyone believed that Tom had this kind of all season long form. We just have yet to see it. 👊💪
I learn so much about watching race tactics when there are "knucklehead" moves! I think that a Knucklehead yearly list should be created and then a knuclehead award (Bent golden chainring?) be issued. IMaybe even use this to help raise funds for the horner cycling foundation (link in the description)! Donations for voting and maybe bribes from the riders to "buy down" the vote as long as they are to the Horner foundation! :) Keep it light and fun because anyone in the pro peleton is an amazing athlete.
Hehehe. I love it. 😂👊
Great idea!
🤣🤣I love your take and the thumbnail.
Jayco Alula are the knuckleheads of 2025, any country, any surface, any distance 😂😂
😂👊
Movistar will definitely have a ‘hold my beer’ moment or two :)
@kieranbarry8193 😂maybe, but Jayco has a huge lead right now 🤣
As I watched the recap I was like "why tf did Eddie Dunbar go up the road?!" And then I was like "what if it was the plan all along? Eddie goes up the road--if you let him go he's not a threat on GC but will take points for no reason that they don't get--but then Hatherly gets rest/won't work/chase teamie. They go chase Eddie to get them points and bring Alan along and he gets the time bonification being a threat now to 2nd/TP if tomorrow went sideways.
Uh-oh. When the thumbnail says 'knuckleheads', someone messed up.
😂👊👊
Tom looked fantastic and its goid to see a team get behind a young guy who has proven his pedigree. I hope to see him and the team achieve more success
Quite right to call Eddie out. I've been following him since he was a teenager and always seemed to be on the cusp of making a big breakthrough. I love the way he tries unconventional tactics to try to break a race, but he just doesn't learn from his mistakes. He's taken years off his career from self-inflicted multiple concussions, and his tactics in this break were just off. At 28 he should be at his physical peak, but still riding like a Junior. Still got some big results ahead of him.
When the camera turned back to the four riders and Eddie was up the road attacking the group. I just thought, Oh Eddie, what Are You Doing! 🤪💪
Agree... Both men's and women's teams have showed questionable tactics in TDU and Alula Tour... Knuckleheads x 10... As far as Pidcocks form he really isn't up against the top ten men's so I'm interested to see how he goes once he gets back to racing in Europe... I hope he shows a continued raised levels... Should be interesting.
Chris, I just noticed that helmet with the Colorado Cyclist decals. I was a long time employee there and I happened to obtain an unopened 1997 Colorado Cyclist calendar with you on the cover wearing that helmet. If you would like it, I can send it to you!
Chris - would be interested to hear your thoughts on the whole WB/Discovery+ malarkey?
The other thing which will be interesting is Yates used to spend a lot of time at the back of the peloton with jayco i don't think he'll be there with Jumbo ??
Right. If you go to Visma you better be ready to race. 🤔👊👊
Knucklehead count: 8.
Springtime is coming--looking forward to so much more knuckleheadism in the pro peloton
And Soler has not even been mentioned yet. 😂👊
Thanks Chris and Garrett , how's the new bike ? Be well , Papillon ! Knuckleheads on the Chesterfield
So far so good. Couple parts to change but I like the bike. 👊👊
I’m starting to think that Ineos was the problem all along. Pidcock looks like he’s motivated to race this year, and the team looks willing to go all in for him. I would still like him to decide and fully commit to a road season, but something tells me he might have been looking forward to those mtb races due to the very strange environment Ineos has had these past few years.
🤷🏼♂️ right. Could be. Pretty funny Narvaez wins and then Tom. 🤪👊
My guess is that Pidcock likes to have fun, and that roadracing is more fun on Q 36.5, where they go all in for him. He can feel that he has a whole team working hard for him, and that it really works.
@@erlendsteren9466That sounds about right. I suspect there was a clash of egos at INEOS but Tom's undisputed top dog here and it is working really well.
Personally I'd just assume his contract with Ineos gave him too much freedom which I doubt his current contract has...
@@kristopergriffin9774 I think he have as much freedom in his current contract as in the last one but at some point in 2024 Ineos put some pressure on they riders to drop Olympic program leading to a major clash with every people working with BT too.
Mahalo for your insite! 🌈 I was surprised when this race came up after the TDU. Did give us another chance to see the early form of these riders.
👊👊
Thanks Chris, and you do a great video on the Bike Races...And the use of that word I have been using for years...
👊👊
Chris calling it the Lula tour is funny AF, the town of Al-Ula sponsors a bike race and a team and nobody takes a second to realize it's Al Ula and it's not some australian machine parts company. If you had to ask 100 cycling fans what city the AlUla tour takes place around idk if you'd get 50 right answers. (Tbh I'm ok with that cause it's fat sportswashing to the highest degree)
Hehehe. To be fair I destroy all names. And to be fair I still couldn’t tell you where exactly it’s at. But I know what’s happening in the bike races. But that’s all I’m good for. 😂👊👊
@@ChrisHornerCycling you're the man Chris! Thanks for all the great analysis
Missed these analysis (on the plus side no knuckleheads for months :-)
Today's final stage was Knucklehead ^2, a bitter end for some, but not for UNO-X pushed until the line .
Waitl u see the final stage you thought this was knuckle head stuff.
Bike race in the desert looks great
Pidcock and Narvaez both have success at the start of the season. This makes me question how Ineos schedule their riders. Winning breeds winning. Even if it’s smaller races, riders want to win! Ineos is not the powerhouse of 2014-2019, but they refuse to accept and adapt their approach.
Collaboration seems to be one of the fundamental habits we are not fostering in the development of cyclists.
For sure this Tour can improve, but the desert scenery is really beautiful
Makes me want to break out my KTM’s. 😂👊👊
The Mountain Bikers represent.

Chris, great channel. Wondering why dont you ever use video ?
I’m not allowed to use video from the races unless I own the rights to them. Basically I would have to pay ASO to get permission to use their video images. I asked but it’s crazy expensive and most importantly they don’t give permission for the entire race. ASO only sends you 8-10 mins of video which they pick from each race. As most of you would know by now we often use images from all over the race to produce each of our videos. 🤔👊
@@ChrisHornerCycling I figured it was some kind of licensing thing but how are other channels (lantern rouge, the move, and a few others I cant think of right now) all using real video ?
Ineos: "Oh sh!t, we fcked up, real bad"
Ineos certainly are not celebrating 😂😬👊
We can all see that the Q36.5 director watches the butterfly effect/beyond the coverage/Horners corner, however Jayco’s boss is viewing that Lantern guy by the looks.
“Eddie Dunbars legs just aren’t as good as Tom Pidcocks” 😂
😂😂🤪👊
Q36.5 stage snipers.
👊👊👊
I wonder how much of Dunbar’s attack was his decision versus the DS’s in the car. If it was Dunbar’s, then the DS should have told him no. The ultimate knucklehead looks like the DS to me.
Yep. I wonder that same thing. I would guess we will never know because rarely does the DS say it was his fault. 🤔😬
Hi Chris 🦋 👊
Hi 👊🦋
It wasn't as straightforward for JA at TDU, but the Dunbar attack wasn't too clever.
❤
👊❤️
Knucklehead was with a teammate in those four who is in GC contention. What was he thinking? Isn't this one of you top commandments...do not leave your GC rider?
Number one rule. Don’t leave your leader. 🤪👊
Jayco have ridden some races over the last couple of years with some funny tactics.
Yep. Very strange 😳👊👊
Eddy !!!!

How does a team with the budget and roster of Ineos continue to underachieve season after season? It can only be explained by bad management. Look for Pidcock's successes to start an exodus from the team.
Well. Narvaez won TdU and Tom here. Which isn’t helping Ineos argue with you. 😂👊
Chris, should we encourage spectators to carry brooms to sweep the road. There is no way that the roads will be free of sand, rocks, etc. u unless all the spectators start sweeping the roads.
Eddie Dunbar did what he could to get the group moving, he also wanted to test himself and get a chance to win by closing the gap solo. I think he did the right thing
Nah. He’s a knucklehead. 😂👊
Rule #1 don't leave your GC rider.
Black shirt. Brown belt.
Oh no. 😂👊
Second damn got beat again
Knucklehead tactics 😆
