Pallet Shredding with the PY1300 Pallet Breaker and WEIMA WL4

Wooden pallets are loaded into the PY1300 pallet breaker for pre-shredding, before the material is transported by swan-neck conveyor to a WEIMA WL4 single-shaft shredder, where the material is further reduced in size.

what happens with the nails? won´t they damage the knives of the shredder? will you sort them out somehow in next step? for what will be sued the shredded wood?

The PY breaker doesn’t break the material down small enough to liberate the nails and other metal parts, so there is no separation between the breaker and shredder. There are no issues with nails and the like going into the shredder, where all material is broken down small enough that metal separation can take place after the shredder.
Shredded wood can be used either as is for biomass, or further processing into solid fuel briquettes. The separation ferrous metals can be sold as scrap.
