    The Yaqui dance is 100% legitimate. My mom is from Tucson and my grandmother was Pascua Yaqui. That dance shown is performed at Easter. I've attended the ceremony several times in the 70s and 80s. I remember the heat of the bonfires and also recall the old women making very large thin tortillas on massive comals. Those are cast iron flat stoves used over open fires.

    This is.... incredibly racist. Would be nice if someone who actually knew what they were talking about could have given a new voice-over to describe what we are really seeing here.

      @Low Bro Referring to other humans as “creatures” because they’re Native American. They did that.

    While the video footage is a national treasure, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry over the ethnocentric commentary. Hopefully the script shows us how far we’ve come…or maybe not.

    Keep in mind a lot of the women were misidentified in this commentary. I found most often that the Southwestern natives were called by each others tribes rather than their own.

    So clean and healthy despite what was experienced. These things happen in cycles so now the current race that ocvupies these lands is experiencing the same. Regardless the outcome, blood will be shed on the lands again.

    These are Mashpee Wampanoags at 2:38 seconds. One of the men is Mr. Eddie the post master before passing the title down to my Nana. This is around the time we began relearning our ways and bringing back our traditions. Head dresses like the ones you see them wearing are mostly western style, that was brought back to Massachusetts after some natives performed in the Buffalo Bill show. You most likely would not see that pre colonialism and now a days. Also a lot of Wampanoags have African American blood as well as Portuguese so they are not just white. The narration is pretty much ignorance of that generation. But its amazing to see the footage of my ancestors as I only have this moment in a picture.

    What the white man did was fight the Indians for territory for over 300 years. But I am sick and tired of being blamed for stuff simply because I am a white man. I had nothing to do with it.

    • @Poisonedblade
      @Poisonedblade 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The tribes also murdered the shit out of each other and women were considered property. You don't hear any complaints about that.

    • @Poisonedblade
      @Poisonedblade 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Michael Garcia How do you know his ancestors specifically did that? Explain.

    • @004Black
      @004Black 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Garcia apparently there were a lot of American Indians in Bavaria, Germany. Are you going to admit that American Indians did put up a brave and valiant fight to retain the land on which they occupied? Between Asia, Canada, the Caribbean islands and south of the Rio Grande, ancient people came to the United States including American Indians.

      Actually 500 years. Columbus was white, the Spaniards are white and there are Indians south of the border. But you are right you were a dividing cell organism inside your ancestors somewhere in Europe at the time.
