    Grant, I have been golfing 30 years this year 2023. About 10 years into my game, I was an absolute "Golf nut".... golfing twice a week and on the practice range hitting balls, chipping and putting 3-4 times a week. Got my handicap down to a solid 10. Unfortunately, life has crept up, I've gotten older and have lost distance like everyone as we age. When I started golfing, I did take a couple of lessons from a PGA Certified Professional, learned all the proper fundamentals and have seen tons of instructional videos from some of the best TH-cam Golf Instructors on line. UNFORTUNATELY, MY GOLF SWING HAS ALWAYS BEEN MORE HANDS AND ARMS vs the proper "Connected and Core Swing." QUESTION: What is the best Drill to learn to better "Compress the ball." Thanks in advance.

    Good lesson. Two more suggestions. Get deep into the knees to ensure you catch a good amount of sand. Push the club handle down low to flatten out the shaft helps us hit the bounce more for bunker shots.

  • @STamagni99
    @STamagni99 ปีที่แล้ว

    I pride myself on my short game. I like to open my feet in the bunker, not really worry about weight distribution , open my club face to my target and swing down my feet path. If I need to hit it higher with more spin , I move it up in my stance , and a chunk and run I play it in the middle of my stance. Same technique with bunker shots with spinners around the green with pitches.

    Not Bob saying "i'm back" as if he had ever been a good bunker player before😂. Love the attitude though, and can always count on Bob and Grant for some premium content! I'd love more lessons with Bob because his game is definitely like us average golfers so we'd probably learn a lot more from watching his changes compared to very good players that have hidden mechanics already in place.

    Grant, thank you for the teaching channel! We have all been impatiently waiting. Can I make a request? When you talk about the bullet points, can you zoom in and maybe highlight and pause the action item you're talking about? I know that will help so many of us. Grant really understands the different swings with all the clubs in the bag. Grant, please do one on mid iron shots, I struggle when I get into 6 iron up. Wedges and short irons are good, but I tend to leave myself around
    180 yards out a lot and my mid irons are costing me at least 5-6 strokes a round. I can't seem to compress the ball on higher irons.

    Great video, thanks! Few questions around the bunker shots: how do you know much to open your stance at address? With a swing path across your feet, right to left - why doesn’t the ball go to the left? How much power are you giving on the shot being that we’re hitting an inch before the ball and getting a lot of sand first?

    I think the video could be longer with Bob doing more drills and figuring out how to hit certain distance to the pin. The bunker shot was ideal with green to work with but how much do you take off with a short sighted pin? Similar with the chip shot, what do you do when you get even closer to the pin?

    Great content! Two comments, for what it's worth; 1) as a left handed golfer, it'd be better (for me) if you suggested weight on "front" leg vs. left leg. This way, your instruction would be valid for both right and left-handed golfers. 2) I couldn't help but notice that all of Bob's shots landed left of pin - is this an alignment thing or something else. It wasn't addressed...

    NEW VIDEO REQUEST: @grant.. Great Video. I know the backswing is the most important thing you should master to give you the best chance of everything else staying on track (downswing, path, open or close clubface, etc.) Can you do a video breaking down your own backswing.. I'm really interested in hearing you speak on what you "FEEL" to start your backswing.. I've heard start it with your shoulders (one or both or specifice one?), start it a turn (what is turning?) Don't wrist hinge till a certain point, etc... But since everyone knows you have one of the best swings in golf, what's your breakdown for your backswing. Again in terms of your feel. We all know "Feel vs. Real". So although your backswing is amazing, what is your "FEEL" when doing your backswing? What exactly starts your backswing?
