- Hello, it's been a while. Here is part one of my New Zealand vlog. It was my first ever 'solo' trip (although I suppose joining a tour group doesn't really constitute as 'solo' but it's a good first step). I wanted to do it to prove to myself that I could still enjoy doing things in life that I love, despite living with chronic depression and anxiety.
I hope you guys enjoy this video and I look forward to sharing the rest of the journey with you.

I'm an introvert, too, and travel often for work/school, and it allows me to find myself (or rather be comfortable with myself)! I spend a lot of time away from friends/family, but find peace when I travel. I'm glad you've decided to upload again! I've missed your uploads! Just thought I'd drop a cheery message! :D

Travelling alone is a good way to travel, you don't have worry about people, you just do what you want, also when you are alone you are easier to approach, so you end up meeting people anyway. As for finding yourself, you've got nothing to worry about, you are doing this and may I say you're doing a pretty good job. I've been to the places you show in this video several times now, I love the trip along the West Coast. I don't know if you drive or not, but if you do and you are happy to stay in backpackers, you will see more and meet people like yourself. I'm always surprised at the number of girls travelling alone, where are the boys, are they all at home playing computer games? Travel teaches you about the country you live in as well as the places you visit, it's interesting to know how other how people from around the world see your home country. Travel boosts your knowledge, self confidence and your ability to sort things out, ultimately to an employer your travel experience makes you a far better prospect and if you choose to go it alone you've already learned a lot of valuable lessons. You are not boring, but then I think you already know that. I enjoyed the video, I look forward to watching the next one.
Tis video is like a little peak into what traveling would be like for me if I do solo travel. I'm an introvert and nervous about goung anywhere especially if I don't make those connections immediately. Sometimes l get disinterested in all the extrovert travel videos because I know my experience won't be like that, but closer to this. Gives me something to think about. Thank you for making this video!
Sometimes we want to chase it with others. But is very different alone. The desire to seek, the need to explore and breathe fresh air. The attitude to find who I am.

I look forward to experiencing the next part. There is something truly personal about traveling alone, even though you miss chatting to another person about it. I went to London by myself in 1999, and then a two week tour across America in 2004. Maybe I should do something with that material. Not exactly HD but plenty of stories along the way.

TheSwedishLad I agree there is something powerful and empowering about going out into the world on your own. I find it so freeing and suggest travelers try it at least once.

Spent roughly a year studying in Melbourne in 2017 and decided to travel NZ for a month afterwards. Just me and a buddy going around the country in a trusty old campervan. Will never forget the freedom of sleeping in the middle of nowhere and going hiking all day. Lake Pukaki, Milford Sound, Te Anau, Mount Cook, Wanaka, Queenstown.. those names will always have a place in my heart. Now that I'm back on the other (and cold) side of the globe I sincerely miss being there but I'll be back that's for sure. Thanks for making this video! Excited for Part 2. Hope there will be a lot more southern island stuff.

Fellow introvert. Really enjoyed your travel video. It had a sort of chillness and contemplativeness to it that felt like it came from an introvert, and I mean that as a compliment. I don't necessarily prefer music or editing or presentation in the extroverted style even if it is what I watch most, because those are the types that aren't as afraid to put themselves out there. By the way, no need to respond to this comment. I dislike the feeling that I should respond to comments on videos, which is a big reason I kind of don't want to ever try to hard on TH-cam. Feels like it would be impossible to create any kind of community when I can't communicate with them. But maybe if they're all understanding introverts as well it might just be fine!
