ok i think you took the members jokes too far .as they were only playing ,to be honest i did feel bad for sunno but i also know the members always take care of each other and love each other. they are like brothers they would not want to bully or bodyshame him,i think you misunderstood the situation and have posted another video ,am sorry but you are misleading engenes .the boys are like family and i know you are just trying to create context for your video but you are also giving the other members and sunoo a bad image and a hard time.
What's worry me the most is that is obvious that sunoo has lost a lot of weight, and he was already skinny before hand. It obviously affecting him.

A couple of things I want to say to Engenes before they try to defend their behavior:
• Sunoo has said that he sometimes feels like the teasing goes too far and it's not funny anymore.
• He has asked Sunghoon and Niki to tone down the teasing more than once (but they haven't).
• If it is so normal and just jokes, why is it always towards Sunoo? He literally never responds back the same way.
Now let's be honest, if he and his body or mannerisms are the butt of the joke they're not laughing with him, they're laughing *AT* him.

i used to get bullied by my friends too. Sure they would hug me, give me presents, say they love me but at the end of the day they gave me major anxiety, i can see the same thing happening here. My friends called me weird, ugly and disgusting everyday and didnt stop when i asked them too, i can really see my younger self in Sunoo and i feel bad for him ,knowing how damaging this is
I had that kind of friend, even if she is just only one, the amount of anxiety I got from her is just a no.

To be honest, at this point, I just started to feel very bad for him. Especially as a person that kinda has an automatic laughing mechanism when it comes to uncomfortable situations (to the point where I literally cannot control it anymore) and thus often gets discredited when talking about their feelings... this just feels very pitiful and it does make me kinda worry why it literally doesn't get really taken seriously (at least from my POV, like outside of the fandom), especially during times when it is apparent that bullying even within groups is a sad reality.
Of course I do not want to pretend like I'd have the audacity to know their real group dynamics off-camera, but all I am saying is that this situation is worrisome by 100%, peculiarly when Sunoo himself already has voiced discomfort with these "jokes".
I just hope he has some other source of good energy that he can draw from to always know and to be remembered of how lovely he is.
@@tataswag1065 okay, okay. So first of all, as I said: I am not going to pretend to know them privately when I don't. And I am not saying that these boys are bullies or what not. I agree that emailing hybe to remove them from the group is not it and I would never condone that either with a situation that is based on speculation. However, what worries people is that this situation does not seem to stop and Sunoo does also not seem to be all too content with this happening, either.
Besides that, I have to disagree with the "if you are a fan, you know that" part bc no, you guys don't know these people privately, either. I'm an nctzen and I watch quite every content of them too, but never would I say that I know anyone (not just speaking about idols) based on observations. This is not meant to attack you, but just as a reminder that not everything you see, especially on a screen or a stage, has to bee genuine or real.

What pisses me off about Enhypen constantly body-shaming Sunoo is how in a previous VLive where they were eating strawberry cake. Sunoo only ate a strawberry and chose not to eat his cake slice and they were all visibly worried about him not eating. And then they turn around and constantly crack jokes about his weight and his body. Like huh?? How the hell do you worry about someone not eating just to turn around and make fun of their weight?
And there's Engenes. God, I hate most Engenes. Constantly babying a bunch of teenagers/young adult boys using cultural differences and mistranslations as an excuse. And it's VERY concerning how some non-Korean Engenes excuse their comments as 'jokes'. It makes me think either they say this kind of stuff to their friends or they're fatphobic in general. And even if what they say is due to cultural differences, do they not find it weird that South Korea, a nation that encourages dangerous dieting methods, cosmetic surgery at a young age, and skin whitening to fit impossible beauty standards is not something to joke about? The industry normalizes colorism and fatphobia and body-shaming and it's sad how some k-pop listeners choose to just ignore it and let it slide.
Enhypen most definitely needs to be held accountable. It's truly irritating how they casually insult Sunoo. If they are bold to say this stuff on camera imagine what they say about Sunoo when the cameras are off. Better yet, imagine what they say/how they feel about their plus-sized fans. Something NEEDS to be done.
I agree, it doesn’t really make any sense how they encourage him to eat, then body shame him? How does that even work, they really need to be educated. They might encourage him to eat, just for the sake of being on camera to seem supportive. Not hating on them, but that’s what I think. Who knows? I hope everything will settle for Sunoo and the members, it’s getting old now. He’s perfect the way he is, the members need to realize how much pain he’s going through because of them. Especially Sunghoon, Jay, and Ni-ki.
I agree. What worries me is that the off-cam happenings. I mean, if they did that on air/live, how much more when they are off-cam. I just hope they settle things down. Sunoo is so much fine the way he is. He doesn't deserve the constant body shaming. Belift and Hybe really needs to address it to the group or else, the group's image will detoriate and will receive so much hates as many non-engenes likes sunoo and some engenes too who has a problem with self-esteem might get upset and feel down.
@@sunshey_hee1547 I agree with you, this might downgrade enhypens image. The company really needs to address, or at least say something to clear this up. Their tour is coming soon, it might not be successful if something doesn’t change, because I’ve been seeing some engenes thinking about not buying any tickets or only supporting Sunoo. Their attitudes need to change, and need to be more educated. Sunoo might get affected badly, I can see it’s coming across his mind, he’s already losing weight. I hope things will be better for Sunoo and the relationship with his members.

The clip where they dismissed the fans compliment struck my heart deeply because i know it probably made Sunoo happy to hear (coming from someone that has been in this situation: even when i deny a compliment it brings me immense joy and helps me build a more positive bodily image) but when other people deny the compliment on your behalf it is so frustrating and confusing because you don't know what the truth is.

Can a Korean please clear this up I saw a another video ab this clip and one of the comments said it means that he looks tired and the members were denying it I don’t really agree with this because if someone said sunoo looks tired why would he say “I’m honored”?
@@hyungwxn Hi, I'm Korean American and I'm not a fan of Enhypen, but I heard about this situation and came to watch the video. Basically the "Sunoo's face became half," said in Korean is "얼굴이 반쪽이 됐어." When Koreans say this, it's NOT really used as a compliment, but more as a worried expression that the person looks haggard. It's to say you look like you lost weight in the face because the person looks more gaunt as they look tired or sick. Also, it looks like the "I'm honored," comment is NOT made by Sunoo, it was made by one of the other guys and it's NOT "I'm honored, it's a WRONG translation, what the other guy said was "과찬이십니다," and he said it TO THE FAN who commented. What "과찬이십니다," means is that when someone praise you, but it's too much of a praise, so you say "과찬이십니다," to basically say to the person that's too much of a praise. Depending on HOW it's used, it can be a good thing or a bad thing. Someone can give you A LOT of praise and you say "과찬이십니다" to basically thank the person as a way to be humble by saying you're praising me too much.... but in this case, the OTHER guy is saying it instead of Sunoo, so he's using it as a joke to say to the fan it's too much of a praise to say Sunoo has lost weight on his face. Tbh, it's.... not a good look to say this. I HOPE this makes sense, idk the members dynamics fully since I don't follow the group but hopefully, they ease down on these jokes.
Honestly the worst part is that as much as i love and appreciate jungwon as a leader, i can’t stop thinking about how unlikely it would be for this type of situation to be around for this long if leaders like RM and BangChan were involved

Actually strictly speaking, Bangchan and Han also made ‘badakokkiri’ which means walrus jokes to Changbin. Though, they didn’t directly involve his weight/looks and tbh I don’t really understand what was so funny. You can find them laughing their ass off on the joke in Chan’s room vlive, and Changbin looked uncomfortable when they didn’t stop laughing after a while. It became a running joke among the members and fans started making badakokkiri jokes to him in fan calls. I’m just stating a fact, but you can make up your own opinion on it. I have lost interest in SKZ after a while. I know for one RM will only let this happen over his dead body because he knows Jimin suffered from ED and he himself has gotten hate on his looks.

@@Bhnbhn i understand what you mean and changbin is my ult bias but changbin doesn't seem like he's affected by such things cuz in the 3rd Jeju trip skz code ep recently released, in the pool changbin says "walrus dive" or something like that and plays in the water. So I think cuz he's older and stuff and cuz of his mentally strong personality he isn't affected by these once in a blue moon comments that might seem offensive to others but he just doesn't care. Also 3racha have known each other for longer than others so they are close af so I'm sure they know each other's boundaries and wouldn't cross them atleast not intentionally. Facts. I've seen videos of jungwon that when the boys get too rowdy, the leader would just change seats with other members instead of speaking to his members to behave. He doesn't seem to fit a leader role if he avoids issues

I-land is definitely the blame for the groups dynamic. Y’all need to remember that when they kept voting Sunoo off it’s wasn’t because he was untalented or he messed up in a performance. They literally said their voting him out because of his personality and he doesn’t fit the vibe. He consistently got good scores from the producers but still got eliminated to the ground. I really think it’s deeper than what most people think

@@user-gq2nc4lg2c It was a survival show so why didn’t they vote off the trainee that did the worst in the performance? They saw that the producers gave Sunoo a great score and still voted him off. When people who did much worse than Sunoo in the performance got to stay in iland, it was very unfair. They judged him based on his personality and their still disrespecting him now that he’s in the group.

After the entrance test when Sunoo performed crown everyone agreed he deserved to be in iland than after he gets there and they had to vote 4 people off they quickly change their mind and he gets the most votes to go to the ground. Which was 11 votes. They thought a hour ago that he deserved to be in iland because of his great performance than instantly changed their minds after speaking to him for a hour. That should tell you everything
The way they kept voting him off but he came back by global votes and producers 😭😭 even won seventeen's hearts and ultimately got the producer's choice. Jay literally said on camera he didn't like Sunoo's charisma. The members did not wanted him to be with them AT ALL
As someone that has watched and known Enhypen through i-land, i can definitely say that your take on I-land creating this dynamic that we know today is correct. I noticed while watching the show twice that the I-landers didn't really have any valid reason for voting Sunoo off to the ground since he was constantly praised by the judges and was always in the top five when it came to the results of the challenges. It was quite obvious that the I-landers created this sort of clique where the never voted for the each other. For example K (a contestant in I-land that has never been to the ground) his reasoning for voting sunoo off is ""He need to improve more"" sunoo placed in the top 5 this challege. How does that make sense??
Mind you 5 members of the group excluding Niki spent most of their time in I-land and were almost never voted off. I would say that they were definitely closer at this time and maybe didn't like Sunoo that much. This sort of ""jealousy"" is apparent when Sunoo was ranked number 1 after the global voting, where he himself couldn't even smile at his result since the rest were confused and shocked as to why he was ranked 1st.
Being in this competitive environment people are bound to hold negative feelings for others they think are a threat which is understandable. But after all these years of them being together i feel like they are also bound to change and accept members that they're going to be with for a long time. Now every one doesn't necessarily need to be bff's but treating each other with respect should be a given.

But they're not in that environment anymore, which is why poeple are talking about it, and wondering why the members are acting like this towards Sunoo. It the end we dont really know their relationship, but its inevitable that fans start to come up with theories as to why they're like that.

This. Their main reasoning in voting him to ground is ridicolous.
Beomgyu and Soobin's respond to a fan in vlive saying that YJ is fat compared to how Sunghoon, Niki and Jay respond to a fan's compliment shows the group's difference in terms of being a group. Enhypen is just a group, while the other group is a family.

Yes definitely. At least at this point. They are literally formed in show without any experience living together for years.
Sunoo was my pick during I-land. I voted for him so hard in the finale. Him being the producer’s pick is THE only reason why I stan enhypen. If something ever happens to him, I’m dropping the rest of the group. I don’t care about their success and fame when they can’t even learn basic human kindness and decency.

When watching this video I was thinking of un stanning Enhypen all together. But I love Sunoo so much. He was also my pick during I-land.
I’m actually so glad to hear someone mention how the environment on I-Land could have contributed to the current group dynamic. For a member who was adored by fans and not really viewed highly by other contestants, I wouldn’t be shocked if there was some leftover resentment towards Sunoo today. My heart hurts seeing any of these comments and I just pray that something will change behind the scenes.
@@natalipoland4482 I can see what you mean. But even before she mentioned it in the video I was thinking it too. The reason is that I specifically remember a clip from I-land witch happened soon after the fan voting became part of the show. It was an interview with K (one of the contestants who did not end up as part of Enhyphen). He clearly expressed some frustration that Sunoo was first place, saying some thing like " I don't understand, Hysung is better than any one here. If anyone is first place it should be him, for sunoo to be first place, ... I just don't understand it/I can't see how that's fair..." (Obviously, I'm going off of subtitles and my shotty memory, but that one stuck with me.) And that is just what he was feeling comfortable to say to the camera, he was bold to say what he thought. Who knows how all the other contestants thought and what they said not to the camera? I think it's safe to say that there is probability that at least some of them felt a similar frustration. Now I don't agree with K at all, because at the end, fans are the ones who support the artist, so if you have flawless singing or dancing it is useless if we don't decide to vote for you. Also, the fans were supposed to help make it not just about skill but about who we actually wanted to be fans of. So this is just something I remembered that I wanted to share. Though, I think it has been a long time since I-land so I'm not sure how much it would influence group dynamics, I can see that initial impressions are hard to over come and sometimes they carry over even when we don't want them to.

I saw on twitter that some eugenes don't go to fanmeet because they are afraid of what the members will think of them. I was like, and you're still STAN this group? because I always stan groups that give me security and comfort, not a bunch of fat phobics. @@seuligs28th i completely disagree. if k-pop groups made the same music they do now with the same skills and stage presence, except they were all the exact opposite of beauty standards (ex. fat, neck beard, uni brow, acne, ugly in general) they would never be as popular as they are now, and that's just the truth for the idol industry. sure, people might stan because the music is good, but what makes people stay fans and buy all their merch and go to fan meetings is their looks and personality bundled into the perfect "idol".

Stop it already. Yes, enhypen sometimes say nonsense, but spreading hate about them and especially towards Niki is not fair at all. They are still friends, it keeps them apart - and no! Distance is not the solution at all. I said this on Reddit but I think it needs to be said here too, because I whole heartedly agree with you. It really bothers me when people use the whole ‘but he laughs too’ defence. What else can he do? Get upset on a public broadcast? That would make things very uncomfortable and potentially open him up to further criticism. Speaking from experience, when people make jokes like that it feels way less awkward and embarrassing if you just laugh along like you don’t care and you’re in on the joke too. I don’t care about cultural norms etc. I just think someone needs to have a serious discussion with them about making those comments publicly at the very least. Just one girls opinion.

Perhaps you’re right and there isn’t any malicious intent, but I think at a certain point intent becomes somewhat irrelevant- the result is the same at the end of the day- they’re still making those comments which at a minimum are inappropriate in a public setting like V Live. I totally agree, they have to feel pretty confident to be saying those things on a broadcast. I think they might be underestimating how many people support Sunoo, like they did on I Land.

To be fair they could have laughed in an awkward situation, not everyone knows how to confront people. i definitely think i-land plays a HUGE role in the groups dynamics. from the start, everyone formed their own friend groups and sunoo happened to be one of the ones left behind. a lot of the others seemed to not like him or have a problem with him. at first, i thought it’s because of his bright, cute personality, but then i saw it. he had it all, a large fan following, talented singer and dancer, and idol energy. essentially everyone was jealous. and they still are.

There have been confirmation that there was a few mistranslations, of course what the members said where not justifiable at all and I do not condone these actions, I also do not support these actions. But the members have now apologized, and cleared up these concerns. Sunoo has explained that he is okay now, and the members have apologized. The fat shaming has stopped, and there relationship is back to basically perfect. Please don’t spread anymore hate to the members because they have been educated now. Hi, I'm Korean American and I'm not a fan of Enhypen, but I heard about this situation and came to watch the video. Basically the "Sunoo's face became half," said in Korean in this video is "얼굴이 반쪽이 됐어." When Koreans say this, it's NOT used as a compliment, but as a WORRIED expression that the person looks haggard. It's to say you look like you lost weight in the face because the you look more gaunt like you're tired or sick. Also, the "I'm honored," comment was NOT made by Sunoo, it was made by the guy sitting next to him and in the way it's used HERE, it's NOT "I'm honored," it's a WRONG translation. What the other guy said was "과찬이십니다," and he said it TO THE FAN who commented. What "과찬이십니다," means is when someone overly praises you, you say "과찬이십니다," to basically say I'm honored, to thank the person as a way to be humble by saying you're praising me too much.... but in this case, the OTHER guy is saying it instead of Sunoo, so he's using it as a joke to say to the fan that they're giving Sunoo too much of a praise to say he lost weight on his face. Tbh, it's.... NOT a good look to say this. I HOPE this makes sense, idk the members dynamics fully since I don't follow the group but hopefully, they ease down on these jokes.

I actually like Enhypen's songs a lot and I've seen more videos of them and they seem to be good guys overall, I just wish they wouldn't tease about appearances and Sunoo seems to be teased a lot bc members find his reaction to be the funniest, which is unfortunate. Hopefully, the boys all learn this and stop, but tbh, with how beauty standards are so heavily ingrained into the kpop industry, I would not be shocked if majority of kpop idols have a VERY troubling skewed mindset and view of body image.

My fear with groups that come from survivals is always this. When you are basically forced to be a group after competing against each other I don't think it will ever go smoothly. Obviously we don't know what happens off camera or what are their thoughts, but if the problem is that they don't like him they can still be respectful since they are coworkers before anything.
Exactly. This is why I don’t even like some of the members that much. They’re the ones that mostly bodyshame Sunoo, avoid when someone compliments him, are just pretty toxic and expect engenes to forget it a few weeks later.

Body shaming is what gave me my ED in middle school. It’s the reason I have difficulty eating and keeping my body healthy now. I “beat” AN 6 years ago and just recently surpassed 100 lbs. Even though I’ve just been a casual listener, I feel like I’m going to have a hard time continuing to listen to a group that does a lot of the same things my bullies in middle school did. I hope they can be educated and Sunoo can heal.

One thing I will say is that I think it’s best that we don’t speculate too much on the members’ behind the scenes dynamics. No shade to Bri intended (it’s honestly not even a response solely to what was said in this video). I say it because it’s really easy to run away with those kinds of speculations and paint people to be something they’re not, for better or worse
I agree with this. I think the problem with the bullying narrative is that it overlooks the fact that even if they aren’t bullying him, the comments are inappropriate. Like I genuinely think Niki, for example, cares about Sunoo. It looks to me like he genuinely admires Sunoo, yet he still makes these comments.
You can care about someone with all your heart and still hurt them. It doesn’t matter if they’re intentionally bullying him (which we can’t at all prove) or if they love him to the moon and back (which again we can only speculate on); the point is that their comments are inherently really awful, regardless of the intentions behind them. They don’t have to be Sunoo’s enemies for their behavior to be wrong. Sometimes the ones who love you hurt you the most, and that doesn’t make the behavior any better.

But she mentions that the boys may not mean any harm but is unconciously doing so. I don't think she's painting them in a bad light but rather just honestly addresing what was going on.
My therapist taught me about a rule, the 10 second rule, is meant for when you want people to comment about something about them, so it goes like this. If the thing you say about that person is something that cannot be fixed in ten seconds then it's better not to say it. For example:
-"You have an eyelash on your face" you can fix it up in less than ten seconds.
But if you say:
-"Your face is so fat" then wth do you want the other person to do? They just can change their faces like that, and it hurts the self image and self-esteem they have.
So that's it.
I feel bad for Sunoo, idc if there's standards that Sunoo doesn't fit with those standard. I understand that Sunghoon and Niki have been exposed to these rules that are required when you're a dancer,but even so it's not funny

I’ve been told so many times that I’m fat and I need to lose weight. Plenty of unnecessary comments about my physical features at rand moments. My aunt once told me I looked fat in my prom dress…. Right before I went to prom. So I didn’t entirely feel good about my appearance that night, but at least I had my friends with me. And thing is, they’re not very consistent with their body shaming either. “You’re so pale and sickly, go outside more”. “Don’t go to the beach too long or else you’ll get too dark and tan.” “You should eat more or else you’ll get sick.” “You should eat less, you’re getting fat.” Nothing pleases them, so it’s to ignore them.

Sunoo is also my bias so it really shocked me to see the members constantly making fun of his weight. Then I slowly started watching sunoo stop eating and say he was going on diets. It makes me so mad that some engene's are backing up this treatment from the members to sunoo. they say things such as "it wasn't offensive to me", "they are just joking around as friends!" well it won't be offensive to you because it wasn't directed towards YOU. then the other comment- im sorry but I have never joked with my friends about their insecurities and they have never done that with me. the people who did do that to me are no longer in my life because that's not something "friends" do!!!

another issue I feel isn't talked about enough is how sexualised the members (especially niki who recently turned 16) are. Sunoo's a natural charmer both as a performer and as a person. He has that star quality, that ability to catch people's attention and really capture their eyes and hearts and turn them into fans. I've noticed that this type of issue (bodyshaming) is going only in bgs, like if i have to think about it not a single gg comes to mind. and there are even examples when members in ggs defended the others when fans were making inappropriate comments about their body (lisa defended jisoo on live when somebody in the comments said that jisoo should stop eating, twice members in general being protective and nice towards jeongyeon and etc.)
it genuinely shocks me that a 4th gen group which have knowledge on body shaming and other problems have still been able to say stuff like this. no one deserves such comments to be made at them, and what makes it worse is that it's clearly taking a toll on sunoo himself. as an engene, and I'm sure it's not just me, our sunshine deserves so much better and needs to be treated right. I just wanted to explain about the silence that came from Jake and Heeseung. They are under control that's why they can't say anything. If you watch the full video Heeseung told them to read other comments instead. And there's also a time where Jay calls Sunoo a camera hog and Heeseung straight away glared at him without even smiling. There's also a moment where they made fun of Sunoo and Jake kept telling the that sunoo may not like it but they kept doing it anw.
Heeseung himself is literally in the allegation of saying n words and although it's not yet proven whether he actually said it or not, he is constantly called names, bodyshaming by his own fans, threatening him, mocking him and until now he still can't talk about that. He wasn't very old, he just happened to be the eldest and for God's sake they also had a leader. Jake also still cant addressed the necklace issue and literally got stopped by the staff when he tried to.

As someone who has had an eating disorder I really know how much these comments can hurt. Even if they aren't said with ill will, you eventually start to believe them and you think yourself to be as they say. It really really hurts. To see Sunoo like this breaks my heart. He is so perfect the way he is and I hope he doesn't see himself any other way. I hope that the members can see their mistakes in talking to Sunoo like that.

The unfortunate thing is that unless something beyond his group mates verbally harassing him happens, I doubt they will face serious repercussions from the company. Or if fans in mass stop supporting the group, which is hard to measure. So many of these entertainment companies demean their trainees’ looks/talents/personalities beyond control, so while sad, it is not super shocking to see idols “learn” from it and demean their group-mates.
Hybe made it clear they don't care about the bullying. Just look at how they handle Kim Garam's bullying scandal. If they still keep a bully who's victim almost commited suicide because of her actions in the group then they won't do anything about the whole group bodyshaming their member. There’s a lot I dislike about this situation.
First off, Sunoo said in I-Land he suffered with a preadolescent illness most of his life and he had to get surgery for it. He could be on steroids as part of his physical recovery and that’s what is causing his cheeks to appear puffy and would cause weight retention or gain.
His desire to overcome his medical disability comes directly from his desire to be an idol. I don’t think he’s trying to make everyone love him, I think everyone just does.
I do think Sunghoon is jealous, he’s handsome but not charming. It didn’t help he followed Soobin on Music Bank, who will go down as one of the best MCs in the shows history. But he also didn’t have the personality and he likely got a lot of criticism and maybe was even compared to Sunoo. Ni-Ki in this situation is a HUGE disappointment. I’m guessing because there was a lot of buzz with Ni-Ki in the beginning that just eventually got overshadowed by Sunoo’s charm he may have gotten jealous too…
Idk the trouble with idol groups is you can put together a group of people who look great on film together but you can’t make them like each other. But it’s really disappointing how it’s being handled.

I haven't been a kpop fan for that long like 2 years now but I am an EXO-L and Kai situation was really annoying but I just the only thing that made it feel like they learned better is the fact that most of the instances of them mentioning his darker complexion when like the early years when they were still exo-k and exo-m. After like the first 2 years or so I rarely heard them comment on it negatively and often praise him for his skin tone like Suho saying his bronze skin makes his abs look very define and things. I personally feel like they have grown but I did start to follow them around 2021 not when those comments were rampant. Also, my bias D.O. was never one to make fun of him and things so it didn't push me to far from EXO. In enhypen, my bias is heeseung who I don't think he ever comments on his weight and things and his a very friendly hyung to Sunoo. I liked his personality from iland and no hate to Jungwon but I think he should have been the leader and think they would have already confronted this problem if he was as Jungwon is also part of the problem plus in Korean culture it is harder for someone young to speak up against older people. (Ps, sorry for such a long comment)

Sunoo was friendly to everyone in i-land AND the ground yet these same three members treat him with little respect.

This whole situation has been making feel so uneasy. Literally every time I watch an interview or video with enha, I honestly feel uncomfortable bc it makes me question their friendship and if they really like each other. A lot of engenes like to defend them and say 'y'all are always doubting enhypen's friendship' yet what else are we supposed to do when they give us a reason to? However, it's only normal since we don't really know them, only their online persona, but if their behavior towards Sunoo is like this on camera i don't want to know how it is when the cameras aren't rolling. But after witnessing all the hurtful jokes and bullying they've thrown to Sunoo, I doubt that I'd look at them the same way. I feel hurt, angry, sad, confused, and all other types of emotion. Because I've always supported them since the beginning. Honestly, I don't know what to feel anymore. Body shaming is never okay and should never be tolerated. The members shouldn't even be mentioning his weight or body in the first place. I don't care if these delulus defend them. Being young is not an excuse. A decent human being would know how to differentiate the right from wrongs. I hope they change and at least apologize to Sunoo. I understand if Sunoo would feel that way. At a young age, before my growth sprout I was chubby but not overweight. I struggled with looking myself in the mirror as I wanted to look like those people you see in the K-dramas. I was able to grow out it and now I’m ok. But seeing Sunoo going through this makes me think of my experience.

I knew after I-Land I wont stan them. They never had the chemistry to me. The members are talented tho but the Group somehow doesnt really give a unity. Look at &Team for example. Their relationship got so strong. Enhypen is nothing compared to them (in case of chemistry)
I agree, enha's dynamic as group is dead. They were created in a toxic environment where each of them had to backstab each other and form clans. Sunoo had a different group of friends, with Hanbin and EJ so when he appeared in Enhypen, many people thought that it would be hard to find chemistry bc all other enha members didn't want him to debut, they wanted K instead.

As a person that has been fat shamed and lives in a country that hold a heavy weight over image, I really resonate with sunoo, and even though I have been a kpop fan for 9 years situations like this still borther and hurt me alot.
The thing with the survival show is what people aren’t thinking about for some reason and if you bring it up then they get upset. Survival shows are a breeding ground for resentment, there’s 0 chance that all of the contestants were friends, including the final lineup. When I brought this up as being a factor for these weird ass jokes I was dog piled and told not to talk about I-land bc enhyphen doesn’t like to talk about it. I wonder why the fans react like this when it’s a clear starting point of the final lineup’s relationship.

I really hope that hybe does do something about this or sunoo is able to talk to the members off camera if this is truly bothering him. And yeah I also feel like this isn’t just negative for sunoo, but also for fans. I personally struggle with body image and low self-esteem. I also know some people have it worse than me but having fans see the members act this way could be triggering and can hurt fans too. I don’t think the members are doing this to hurt sunoo, but they probably don’t realize what they’re doing can be hurtful even if they see it as a joke.
The amount of people I saw leaving the fandom (because they didn't feel safe with them anymore or didn't want to support this behavior) or other fandoms calling Enhypen problematic because of this... it's clearly affecting their fans and their image, so I hope that even if HYBE doesn't care about the comments themselves that they at least realize that this is/could become a serious problem for the group...

u mentioning iland made me remember of sunoo’s concern when he was a trainee. he mentioned that he was weak (health wise) and wasn’t as physically fit as kids his age and that was his biggest concern on the show. what i’m trying to say here is, if the rest of the boys already know about sunoo’s health conditions, they shouldn’t be commenting on his weight and saying things like, “you’ll need to go on a diet after eating this dessert”. going on unhealthy diets might make his condition worse and it might lead to something serious. the boys should be the ones encouraging him to prioritise his health instead of making such comments even as a joke. this isn’t me saying that they don’t care about sunoo, as a fan, i’ve watched enough content to know that they are nice and caring towards each other but we all know how one negative comment has a power to outweigh all the positive ones and that’s why people should refrain from making such triggering comments ignorantly.
I’m not surprised members of a group would talk to each other like that after years of hearing first hand accounts by former idols about all the verbal harassment & abuse they went through due to their managers belittling their looks or talents. It’s just sad it permeates it’s way into a group’s dynamics and really affect how they view each other and even feel like they have to compete with each other cause they are constantly compared. This is why I question any international stan who wants become a kpop idol cause the industry is already horrible to native Koreans. Imagine how much worse it’d be for you.

yeah sometimes they do some comments that could be misunderstood. but Sunoo himself said that Sunghoon always takes care of him.
i have to admit that the elephant part is very frustrating, but are we sure they said that? let's say they bully Sunoo, but do you think that they are stupid to bully him right Infront of cameras calling him an elephant?
Chanhee and Sunoo are similar in that in their respective group, they often get picked on, but the difference is that Chanhee laughs WITH his members and the boyz never take it too far. On top of that, the boyz will literally hype up Chanhee as much as they poke fun of him so the fans understand that the members are quite fond of him and are just playing around. In this situation, enhypen are almost always laughing AT Sunoo, while he sits there and look uncomfortable
1. We shouldn’t doubt none of their feelings (Chanhees nor Sunoo’s) 2. ENHA have helped Sunoo to eat and complimented him SOOO many times before, so why would they compliment him then body-shame him??
And I just want to add some other things. 1. You can see that Sunoo is laughing hard in some videos 2. Why would he tell over 1M ppl a joke he feels uncomfortable with?? 3. Sunoo said that the members apologizes when he doesn’t like the joke, and he even made Sunghoon apologize ON camera
Exactly. I was interested in both groups before Sunoo fatshaming issues and i can clearly see the différence in their dynamics. The Boyz seem to be really close to each other whereas Enhypen does not feel like a group of buddies but more like distant co-workers sometimes. Just a group of people pursuing the same interests but that's all.
