    Getting closer to that Holiday ride. You gave your familiar bike a new personality . Going to be so much fun getting to know her. A fourth of July to remember! It doesn't get much better than this.

    I’ve got a FatBoy 1997 that just broke down. Overheated and died. No compression in either cylinder.
    About to take the tops off and see what’s in there.
    I been binchwatching these vids and feeling like I’m Jim. Have a mechanic by my side when starting something
    I’ve never done before
    Brilliant!
    Cheers from Norway.

    Good Morning Mr Pacific, Jim, Cameraman Mike and Happy 4th July. So on my 2002 built 95” Twin Cam w/ a Mikuni I originally did the breather bypass with a 3 way “T” and ran one hose down so I took your advice and ran 2 individual hoses with great success. Breathes much better now with almost Zero blow by when I’m getting on her or holding high highway rpms for awhile. I have to upgrade my plastic breathers w/ umbrella valve anyway with newer aluminum ones and this should eliminate it all 🤞. I also run my oil a C hair just below the full line as well so this may contribute. Anyway, hope you got some Independence riding in good sir and thank you for just being a positive role model, this world could use more Pacific Mike’s. Bike is coming along swimmingly and I’m sure Jim will be sh!* grinning for days to come. Take care of yourself Mike, we’ll see you soon.

    When I had bought my 98 Softail last year I discovered that the fuel enricher was broken off at the threaded end. Had to remove the cable and plastic weld it together. Works fine now. Thanks for pointing out about not over tightening the cable fasteners. Great video;she,s coming along nicely ;am sure your friend must be getting anxious to try it out.

    A couple times I've tightened the outer nut on the enrichener cable and made the button too hard to pull out. It's a fine line between that and too loose and it'll walk back in at cold idle.

    'Sou'easterlies paint the clouds tonight, as sunset spreads it's inks,
    of purples, pinks, & those between, as the Greenwood senses drink,
    stale pressure holds the dews at bay, the dampness dulls the view,
    the storms should break by dawn they say, to restart the cycle, new.
    For the rains of England fall upon, those of these soggy isles,
    & the Flintstone furniture doesn't help, as it tends to give us . . . . Greetings, O'sun baked ones, stay cool out there : )

    The new style Mikuni idle enrichment cable (p/n: F990-662-002) has a steel threaded section of housing where it fastens to the motor mount slot. But the cable does NOT come with the Mikuni starter plunger, spring or nut. All sold separately. You cannot use the old Harley spring and plunger in the Mikuni carb. It will not seat. Also, the cable attaches to the Mikuni carb on the right side, facing the carb, whereas on the Harley CV carb the cable makes a straight shot across the motor and attaches on the carb left side. So the Mikuni cable has to make a stretched "S" shape, and it doesn't like to do that.

    • @pacificmike9501
      @pacificmike9501  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is made so your original cable can be used with the enclosed adapter.

    Found a broken bolt on the rear of the bracket. Only reason I found it was that bolt was securing the ground for the horn. Now have to figure out how to get the rest of the bolt out

    • @pacificmike9501
      @pacificmike9501  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't be shy. Experience goes a long ways in extracting a broken bolt. Practice on things that don't matter. Unless, you have priors and are good at this.

    Right on ; 👍👌✊🏻 I noticed and was telling a friend that the early - early Indian scouts had “no” top motor mount. Looks good like sitting in cradle . 🤔
    Have a good day !!!-

    • @pacificmike9501
      @pacificmike9501  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Harleys need top motor mounts. I don't remember Indians with no top motor mounts, but if so, they probably bolted the engine case higher up in the frame, higher than just the bottom. They also bolted the trans to the back of the engine case.

    • @crspcritter
      @crspcritter 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pacificmike9501 yup 👍 got a love for the old Indians and more towards the old scout . The ret hd mechanic has a chief engine to rebuild . I wanna watch 😁. He showed me that the cams are one lobe for intake and exhaust. Amazing engineering. Interesting-

    Mike I changed voes and removed top motor mount to get to the voes on my FLSTN 93 I reinstalled the mount with new voes and tightened the 3 bolts really hard upon taking the road I’m noticing a buzz vibration on floorboards at certain rpm if I speed more highway speeds it goes away it’s only a buzz on floorboards at certain high rpm on mid low gears, is it the voes that is causing this or the motor mount was installed too tight ? The bike was on kickstand when took off and put on the motor mount not straight don’t know if that make any difference

    • @AndresCuervoArt
      @AndresCuervoArt 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My bike had a faulty voes so it was disconnected the new voes is new and original harley and the spark timing is correct dot on the center at 1200rpm with voes connected

    • @pacificmike9501
      @pacificmike9501  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The main thing is that the mount is not stressed, that it fits tightly and flat. Again, no stress.

    • @pacificmike9501
      @pacificmike9501  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Be sure the engine and trans bolts to the frame are tight.

    • @pacificmike9501

      You'll have to go through a catalogue to find what you want. I do remember it being a six inch over stock length cable to allow for the higher handlebars. And, I believe it is a Barnett.
