Great break down. I realized this early on because I was picking up the magazine from the lodge and after several playthroughs they stopped giving me the perks.
Excellent content, well made, researched and edited. Also thank you for limiting spoilers. Really hoping to see more of your content. It would be great to understand more about when weapon and armor improvements between quality levels and when and where they drop level wise. Especially Superior and also if it’s true that weapons have a superior level, even if the devs forget to add the naming tag. If there is an improvement to weapons that should be called superior, when, level and where do we find them and how much improved… This a lot to ask, I’m level 225 in my first play through and have not found superior weapons yet, only armor. Thanks again, great work.
Thank you for your kindness! Yeah, there are some inconsistencies for weapons for sure. I'm pretty sure you got it correct, they are just missing a tag - I wonder how hard that would be to mod.

So if the perk pool has 5 perks, and you NG+ 5 times picking up the same magazine #1, by the 5th pickup you'll have all 5 total possible perks from the pool? That's both a little disappointing that you can't get uber pumped, but also reassuring that you don't have to get every single one every single time.
hi, good content.. one question tho if you don't mind, when you said the weapons level up when you do, do you have to have then equipped or will they do it in the ships cargo? Thank you
Great question. Ground weapons have tiers they can drop as. Normal, calibrated, refined, advanced, and superior. They do more damage at higher tiers. However, they don't change tiers after you pick them up, so they don't 'grow' in that sense. Also, ship weapons don't have tiers, they are always the same as the ones you built the ship with.
This was excellent. Definitely a little streamer Formatted and could be tightened up for youtube but informative and amusing. I'd love to see how the actual armor values work. They give you both armor values and percentage reductions and don't tell you how they interact at all.
One thing I that I've noticed is that if you happen to find the same number magazine in the same playthrough, it sticks with the perk you got when you picked up the first of that issue number but does not add benefit
Thank you for your contribution to the since. Just wanted to add: There might not be inconsistency with Nova Galactic manuals. So far i collected 5 of them (all in one game, so no ng+) namely: NGM 01, NGM 02, NGM 03, NGM 07 and NGM 08. Serials indicate there are 10 issues of NGM in one game. If that is true then everything is ok: You have 10 manuals and 10 ranks of the perk, one per manual. Hope it helps.
Yep, I found this out! I've actually JUST uploaded a follow up video th-cam.com/video/viJx5L0CDZU/w-d-xo.html I've managed to cut it down to 10% of the time XD
Found this with the constellation guide. Easiest one to test with the new game plus. Just upsetting they don't have more than 5 perks. I want to know if there is a mod to cycle the perk. It would be easy with the CK. But for a game that presents as infinite game play, the mags make great sense, just not the best approach. The different mags are great for diversity of assets but they should have made them stack able. You become a god fairly quick in this game, so having the mags stack buffs would be funny and an extra (or at least one thing) to strive for and want to work for. Other fixes would be uncapped power leveling, perk list section for dumping extra points and better power improvements. Radius increases should have been a thing from the start. Not to mention stuff like tag adding for stuff like elemental pull, where you can use it to pick up other stuff including loot from chests and corpses.
I was passively listening to this while playing until he triggered me by mentioning the vacuum tape not having a use. I collected soo many of those early game. Todd Howard may very well be the Devil…

Yes, the perks all stack with each other. However, not every magazine group gives you the same buff. I think most of them give you a different magazine buff for each magazine you pick up. check out the linked google doc in the video description section - I hope that clears it up for you.
