Thanks for all the suggestions! Guess where I ended up ordering the paint from? Amazon 😊, I have a link for it too, to make it easy for people to find it. And yes, I had the option of adding paint instead of primer. But, these guys were bleeding like crazy. That was me playing it safe. Again, thanks for the info! 😊
I'm confused, did you actually mix the chalk paint and metallic together before applying? I'm doing my dresser and only have 1 quart of the metallic, can't afford to mess it up😅
Loving the pace of your video. You do great job of showing the work and short voice over explanations are really good balance. Trust me!! I watch a lot of these! Love the paint.
I would absolutely use a metallic paint for my home. I have a couple pieces that I am working on and never thought about the metallic look until I saw this video. Thanks for the inspiration. I’m new to your channel and am loving it. Thank you for your hard work and for sharing. ❤
Yesss! These turned out beautiful! 😍 Modern Masters metallics are the absolute best, been using them for years for faux projects. One of my favorite finishes with pearl is a cross-hatch application. The pearl catches the light at different angles and it's really dynamic.
The finish on these is so so beautiful! The hardware you chose looks so good with the metallic paint. I've never thought about using metallic paint on an entire piece before! Thank you for sharing this makeover and all the tips you shared along the way!
These are gorgeous, Walessa! I am a long-time fan of Modern Masters and they make my favorite metallic paints. You did everything beautifully. I prefer to brush this paint and I use a mister spray bottle on my surface to help with paint flow. I love glamour and there’s nothing as pretty as the shimmer from a good metallic paint. You did a beautiful job on these two nightstands from start to finish.🌸
Glamorous is the word! After doing some research, I’ve heard only good things about this brand, so I decided to try it. The shimmer is fabulous! My neighbor loved them! And thank you! 😊
Hi I am subscribed to your channel…..I just had to watch when I saw metallic! Wow that definitely warrants more steps and lots of work! I think I have seen someone else use as a stencil ( I think it was Kacha?) ….but not a whole piece…I think they look good….to be honest the drawers looked off and that was distracting….the paint looked great!🤩🌟 When my son got his car bed…..he was 3 now 37 it was silkscreen design on painted wood…Lamborghini…really sharp…my. in laws bought it for him! We took a plain front pine dresser that had no pulls just the indents to open drawers and my husband owns a car body shop and he painted that dresser with car paint silver metallic to look like a tool box and we still have that dresser and it looks great. In fact it has been used by my nephew and our first grandson! Then when my daughter changed to a bed at age 1 she is 33 now we were given a french provincial bed, dresser w/mirror and a night stand and once again hubby took to his shop and painted it white metallic pearl white….it has an iridescent look…put beautiful glass knobs on it and we still have that set today and it looks great! Had to share my story as you are the first I have seen do it since🌟 Looks great👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻 Thank you for sharing 😊kim
Thanks for sharing your story with me! Perhaps the drawer slides’ were not where they were supposed to be when I took the video/pictures. Didn’t noticed. 😊Glad to read I have a metallic fan here! I really loved the shimmer in this paint!
I am about to use metallic with my spray gun (used a brush many times with these paints) spoke with the manufacturer who advised 10% thinned with water. What sizes needle did you use in your gun 1.4mm? they did turn out really nice in the end. Metallic is very pricey so coverage needs to be good! 😎
I just recently finished my own project using Modern Masters metallic in soft silver. Love the results, but I haven't put on polyurethane coats yet. Would you have any idea whether I could just use the same poly I usually use - Minwax Clear Satin? Modern Masters makes their own, but wonder if it's really necessary that I use theirs. I noticed you used a different brand as well. Thanks for any advice - and love how your pieces turned out!!
Hi! I use a different brand because I trust it, I can tell you it is “compatible” with Modern Masters, but I can’t say for sure if Minwax would work. Some brands react to others.
I’m a newbie lol and I’m very new to Modern Masters and I’m having a hard time spraying it my gun splatters the paint. I’ve tried 2 different guns and end up going over it lightly with a roller. What sprayer did you use? Also I saw you sprayed the Shellac. I’d love to spray the Shellac but it dries so fast I’m scared it will mess up my gun. If you don’t mind me asking how do you do it? 😊 what do you use to clean your gun? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊
Maybe it is hard to find only in my area. They didn’t have the size I needed there either. I was also looking for this specific brand because that’s what was recommended too. 😊it could be the brand, or perhaps the times we are living in.
Very nice. 🦋 I am wondering if it would be better to apply with a sponge brush. As the sponge can cover the surfaces with more paint really well. ?? And how long does it take for the primer to dry?
Thanks! I would be afraid that the sponge texture would show through. Metallic paint it’s definitely a lot trickier because it’s more translucent than regular paint. Primer, generally takes at least one hour.
I just finish doing two matching desks using the MM metallic in warm silver! it was a challenge for sure spraying. I did them for a customer, but probably won't use again unless requested! They turned out great, but man it's time consuming, and requires a lot of product when spraying. Would not try brushing it on though! Yours look beautiful!
I'm doing a large kitchen table right now in warm silver and I'm having trouble with mm poly for metallics. It made everything hazy. I have sanded it and now mixing a little color with it to try again but it drys so fast I can't keep it from streaking on the top. I love the color but it's so frustrating 😫
Very nice! Sorry my finger hit something it should not have hit! I was going to paint some metallic cabinets but now I will come up with a plan b! But these really look great!
It’s beautiful and no I would not paint anything metallic after watching what you did. You made it seem simple but to much time for my flips. Now if a customer wanted metallic paint then I might but for myself it’s a no

Oh…cross-hatch sounds so fun!! I’ll keep that in mind for future projects for sure. Thank you!
Beautiful results after so much hard work!
Thanks!
Hells to the yes! I love metallic painted furniture!! The nightstands look very elegant!!!
Thank you!! Glad you liked them
A lot of work and a beautiful finish.
Thank you very much!
these are beautiful, I can see the appeal of having something in this pearly white
You know what? Me too! 😊
I bought bronze metallic paint from Modern Masters. After seeing this video I feel
like I’m over my head! I’m new to this.
@@roseklein5359 What kind of project were you thinking to tackle?
Sooo pretty they look like pearls
Awwww yes! Two pearls. Thank you!
The finish on these is so so beautiful! The hardware you chose looks so good with the metallic paint.

Ours still have the shimmer... I’m sure your customer loved them!
Those turned out really pretty. Thanks for the video !!
Thank you!!!
Great job 😊
I use this paint often on furniture never with a sprayer tho and it covers great….
Good to know!
Beautiful job. I wouldn’t have the patience
Haha I try to prepare mentally! 😊
Gorgeous. Yes i would!’
They look beautiful in your video. I'm not sure I would use metallic in house though. Lively job, Walesa!
Is definitely not a look for a lot of people. But, I was surprised at how much I liked them.
Awesome Work
Thanks 😄
Yes. Im doing my headboard in gold
Turned out beautifully!
Thanks!!😅Doing your research before hand is always worth it!

Hi! I hope this video answers some of your questions regarding the primer. th-cam.com/video/DMDw4SgXQg0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=61uHZAhjbruCt2AP
I’ve used metallic paint on nightstands for a teen girls room. I got it at Home Depot and they had a good selection of colors.
Maybe it is hard to find only in my area. They didn’t have the size I needed there either. I was also looking for this specific brand because that’s what was recommended too. 😊it could be the brand, or perhaps the times we are living in.

Your comment made me smile, it resonates with what my feels and experience with metallic paint was like. I will use it only if requested too! 😊

Yes 😊
Thank you!
I did my dresser about 6 years ago in a metallic silver but with spray paint. Back then I couldn’t find any metallic furniture paint.
Spray paint?! Wow, now that takes courage. Good for you!
Oh yes!!!!
Very nic

It definitely takes more time and product! 😊
I would use metallic paint its beautiful.
I’m surprised how many people would. Just because I’m a neutral gal. I’m glad my neighbor asked me to do this for sure.
Just looks like satin white paint to me. Maybe you can only see the "pearl" effect in person.
Beautifully done. A bit too much of an effort to get it just right. And pricey as well.
Thank you very much! It’s a bit pricey, but my customer was happy and willing to pay so it was definitely worth it.
Yes, I would use metallic paint in gold. You can buy modern Michael's hobby store
Gold! So bold and beautiful. I only found small sizes of it around my area. Nothing big enough to refinish a couple of nightstands.
I found it at hobby lobby . What about stripping on the sides ? Looking at a matte / satin combination
