Hey,just seen this....as a family will be creating a orchard in my sisters front garden very soon.i planted a sliver birch tree 10 years ago for my late Ma it's now about 7 foot..... 💜
Homeless people can literally survive and live on that food everyone should be told about these places it could help homeless and struggling people and give them healthy free food

Fridges BREED on bacteria, & with so many people opening / closing it in hot weather, it won’t be reaching full temp all the time. Be super careful if anything contains meat, is already open etc. People may be touching & picking at the food with unclean hands too. Stick to places like the first & last ones you went to, they were Brill!

There’s a big difference between out of date food & food that’s been sitting for too long & that’s spoiling - the OP & I were referring to the latter when it came to meat & dairy products in fridges that were open to the public. Having said that, the entire point of this project IS to give away free foods from businesses that would otherwise throw them away at the end of the day, due to silly rules regarding the stamps put on them with ‘use by’ dates. Fruit & veggies get thrown away unnecessarily when there’s nothing wrong with them because of this, as do tinned goods, eggs etc. Most people now ignore these labels & don’t care if it’s a few days out of date. Regardless of which, we’ve been having extraordinarily hot weather here in the U.K. - especially London & surrounding areas down south / east Anglia, it’s important just to be mindful of meat & dairy products left in fridges that are having to work overtime in the heat to keep a cool temperature, & having the door open & closed regularly by people interested in taking food items. I wouldn’t want anyone getting sick through such a good idea as this.

Phenomenal content that I immrnsely like Toba. 20 billion pounds of food waste in the UK; I wonder how much foof waste occurs in the USA? I am surmising a lot. This is thought provoking in terms of I need to be more cognizant of wasting food.
