Awesome!!! Btw you did watch three unreleased songs, Also watching them in order really improves the context and makes you feel it so much more Thanks for your content! ❤
Hi! I've been a big fan of your reactions for a while now! For a new Musical-themed video I would like to recommend the Musical "Hadestown'. The actors all have absolutely stunning voices, especially the actor who plays Orpheus. Road to Hell' & ,Any way the wind blows' are a great introduction to understand the plot.
I know!!! Most of the animatics Matthew listened to weren’t even from EPIC: The Musical!!!!!!!!!!! These are from demo, TikTok sounds, shorts and songs Jorge was working on. The least he could do is actually react to songs from the soundtrack otherwise just say you’re reacting to music from Jorge Rivera-Herrans.
He doesn't listen to musicals in order, unfortunately. He says that if he did, he'd probably be more focused on the story rather than on the music itself (which, I think he is anyway, confused by what is happening all the time, but what do I know?), and so it'd kinda ruin it, or something.
Some of the songs you reacted to are not officially released yet! In "get in the water", Poseidon's voice IS Jorge Rivera Herans, who is the creator and also voices Odysseus. Make sure to listen to the official full release of "wouldn't you like"
Lmao Poly deffo quoted that verbatim to Poseidon since Poseidon said it in Ruthlessness. Odysseus of Ithaca too lmao Lowkey finding it hilarious to imagine Polyphemus just crying going all "A-and then he says he's my darkest moment...after he stabbed my eye too."
"It just now occurred to me, did Hermes give him the flower?" ...had a feeling you just sort of glazed over that when listening to 'Done For'. Yes, yes he did.
Every time I watch one of these I'm silently begging "please just hit the back key when you unpause it so you can catch those few seconds you missed in the process of pausing so you could speak" lmao and I'm pretty sure that part of Done For was one of those moments. Sort of like how the first thing Ody says in "Warrior of the Mind" is "Athena!" and because of bad timing with pauses, Matthew completely missed hearing that it was Athena and had to figure that out as it went on.
Did anyone else think that maybe the consequence for getting the flower is losing Urilicus?(if I spelled that right. The guy with the really deep voice) bc we don't really hear from him during that song and we don't hear from him after. And yes, I have yet to read the Odyssey, so I could be way off
@@mandygibson5601 Eurylochus doesn't go with Ody to get their men back, so that's why we don't hear from him after the first song in the Circe Saga. He'll be back, he has more singing left to do.
Each character actually has music that matches them, Athena is piano, Odysseus is a guitar (changes based on mood between electric and acoustic), Poseidon is trumpet, and Hermes is like a harp I think
Hermes is not harp, it’s lyre, which is that tiny harp. It makes sense becuase in mythology, hermes murders a tortoise (😢) and uses its shell to make a lyre LITERALLY THE DAY HE’S BORN
@@rafaelaguirre8091 Jorge actually released a short some time ago (can't remember exactly when) that clarifies that Hermes is represented by "harps and arps", and a lyre in part 1 of the story
If you don't watch them in order you won't get the story and will be confused the entire time without understanding what's happening. It's basically going to lessen the impact of both the songs and story (like you listened to Just A Man out of order when it's a really important song to the story). Please listen to them in order so you don't keep listening to the unreleased songs. Please listen to the produced songs, not the demos. Only 17 of the 40 songs have been released. Here's a list of the songs in order: TROY SAGA: 1. The Horse And The Infant 2. Just A Man 3. Full Speed Ahead 4. Open Arms 5. Warrior Of The Mind CYCLOPS SAGA: 6. Polyphemus 7. Survive 8. Remember Them 9. My Goodbye OCEAN SAGA: 10. Storm 11. Luck Runs Out 12. Keep Your Friends Close 13. Ruthlessness CIRCE SAGA: 14. Puppeteer 15. Wouldn’t You Like 16. Done For 17. There Are Other Ways Here's also a playlist I made for the animatics in order: th-cam.com/play/PLjaNJHXk-DKfRNTRwPDW5BZiOP3_6OSoV.html&si=I9B-3bPbRev8UIMi
@@TheNitpickChick Aw thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it! I tried to find the ones I thought were the best animatics, though there are still very good alternatives.
This is soooooo helpful!!! With this playlist at least he could react to songs from EPIC! Most of what this reaction is was just snippets, demos, and shorts of unfinished songs.
In Get in the Water, the voice actor (and writer of the series) is actually singing Poseidon since it's a demo. Everything after the Circe Saga is still a demo/unfinished
Haha, the reason Poseidon sounds like Odysseus is because the only clips we have of Get In the Water are from demos that Jorge-Rivera Herrans (Odysseus) sings!
Hey Mathew, thank you so much for the part 2! However, you mainly listened to the "demos" of the actual songs! They were just recently released, so many older animatics just use snippets or the demo song. The last song you listened to actually has a whole different singer now and he's amazing! Would love for you to react to the new and full versions! Especially because the voice of Hermes is soo good and "wouldn't you like" is my favourite song! Also, listening to them in order makes them much more impactful! 😆
You should totally react to Wouldn’t You Like again!! The one u listened to was actually the unfinished verison. The finished version is part of the Circe Sage. (Also listening to the songs in order provides an even better experience and gives you more context for the story ^^)
8:53 the voice doesn’t sound like Poseidon, because it’s not. That was an old audio done by Jay (Odysseus) from before he cast Steven Rodriguez as Poseidon.
Dangerous, Get in the Water, and that version of Wouldn't You Like are all unfinished. There is a version of Wouldn't You Like that is finished but idk if it has any animatics yet.
9:58 Regarding the is Ithaca a country or a city question: it's kind of both. Ancient Greece and it's mythological More Ancient Greece were organized in poleis, essentially city-states who controlled some land and villages close by. Ithaca is also an island. Considering it is not a huge island, one polis controlled the entire thing, so Poseidon is actually threatening to drown an entire island, not just a city.
Dangerous and get in the water do not have official vocals as of now. For now, the voice of Odysseus does these songs and they are currently incomplete demos that are scattered across the internet. Wouldn’t you like is now released and the animatic you watched for it was created before it had released.
The reason posiedon sounds like odyssius in 'get in the water' is coz that animatic came out when they were auditioning for posiedon and the person singing in the animatic is jorge himself
I know the animatic are easier to pay attention to, but some of what you listened to are the unreleased versions, and listening to the sagas in order will also help with the storyline! Love watching you discover more of these songs tho!
I love WolfytheWitch’s Get in the Water animatic so much. The way it’s so incredibly clear that Poseidon could just force Odysseus to get in the water, but he wants Odysseus to do it himself is chef’s kiss✨
I would highly recommend looking into which songs are fully released and make sure you're listening to the right ones if you do another reaction. For example: the video for Wouldn't You Like that you used is using the demo for the song and the full version was released on February 14 so you aren't getting the full experience of the song by using the demo
epic has been a growing hyperfixation of mine since feb 2023 and im SO excited that ur checking it out again its just incredible every song after the circe saga, which ends after there are other ways, are not offical yet. all the characters are voiced by jorge LOL . they get the snippets of the songs from his tiktoks! you listened to the wrong version of wouldnt you like 😞 sobs
Here's a list of all the songs in order: The Troy Saga: -The horse and the infant -Just a man -Full speed ahead -Open Arms -Warrior of the mind The Cyclops Saga: -Polyphemus -Survive -Remember them -My goodbye The Ocean Saga: -Storm -Luck runs out -Keep your friends close -Ruthlessness The Circe Saga: -Puppeteer -Wouldn't you like -Done for -There are other ways Listen to them in order, everything will make so much sense and you'll get a good grasp of what's happening in the story (it also adds more emotion). The version you heard of done for was just a demo, the whole song (with animatics) was released on february 14th Dangerous and Get in the water are both unreleased songs.
hey, the musical is still a work in progress so make sure you listen to the full songs, for example the song "wouldn't you like" that you played is just half of the full song, te actuall full song released like a month ago
Hey, Mathew, there are 17 songs completed in the musical, why did you chose three that aren't? T^T Like. Dude. Anyway, in "Get in the Water" Poseidon sounds different because the person singing is indeed Jorge, Odysseus' singer, as this is only the concept of a song that will not come for a WHILE. Jorge has a habit of releasing snippets in advance, before they're recorded to make some advertisement. Which is why he was ALSO the one singing Hermes in the "Wouldn't you Like" animatic you chose, despite the fact that the song has been fully released and sang by Hermes' actor, because gigi made that animatic BEFORE the song was put out, using only snippets by Jorge. There's a playlist somewhere on youtube with the list of the songs that have actually been broadcasted, if you ever make another EPIC reaction video, you should chose from that and pick out an animatic using it as a baseline. That way you would know if they're shorter than they should be too.
Yes there are 17 songs on spotify completed. the rest are 3/4 or 1/2 completed. out of 40 songs. but the god games are short and we are still waiting on apollos demo I'm pretty sure? all 40 have a finished idea but the voiced and production of it is in the making
Some of the voices are gonna be different in some songs, because not all of the songs are released. Jorge (the creator and the guy who plays Odysseus) releases some clips of the songs before they’re performed by the actual voice actors. That’s why in Get In The Water Poseidon sounds different because it’s not Poseidon’s voice actor it’s Jorge, same with Wouldn’t You Like (although that song is out now, the animatic was just created before it was)
The reason Poseidon sounds like Odysseus in "get in the water" is it's not released yet and the writer/director/etc was showing a little bit of it off and he's the voice for Odysseus 👍
Part Three please! Edit: Also, someone else mentioned it, but a lot of the songs you listened to were the demos. Songs that aren't officially out yet, but we have snippets and clips of them. The reason why the voice in "Get in the Water" sounded like Odysseus was because the clip was recorded before Jorge had cast a Poseidon, so he sung both parts himself (yes, that character is Poseidon). I'd recommend sticking to full songs in the future, and of those I'd recommend "The Horse and the Infant" (the first song in the whole thing), "Survive", "Puppeteer", "Keep Your Friends Close" (can't remember if you did that one before or not), and "There Are Other Ways". For the necessary context, "There Are Other Ways" takes place directly after "Done For" and finishes that story. "The Horse and the Infant" is the first song of the musical and comes right before "Just a Man". Other than that...you can figure out the rest.
This video feels like someone picking up a book you love and reading about half of it, skipping ahead, getting confused as to what is going on, backtracking a little but not where they left off, still being confused, then finally moving on towards the extra stuff in the very back. I'm aware this sounds very rude but it would have been so easy and simple to just look up the order of the songs, watch the videos accordingly, and then watching the extra stuff.
Ok so just to add to the horde of people who have already explained this but: Epic is _not finished_ yet! So when you were listening to Get In The Water and couldnt tell who's voice is whose, that's because it's the same person. Jorge, (aka voice for Odysseus and also the writer and creator of Epic) has not finished writing most of the songs yet, the unfinished ones he releases shorter clips where he does all of the parts and then will release full songs with the actual voices by different people when he finishes that arc of the saga.
I am so very disappointed that none of the reactors WATCH THEM IN ORDER! Please don't break our hearts Matthew 😢 Everyone wants you to watch it in order, so just why?😭 There are lines that repeat again and again and you won't ever dive into it if you just hear them randomly. I beg you, grand us mercy🙏🏻🥺
I beg you- you can keep watching out of order if you choose but PLEASE go back and watch them in order after, it flows so smoothly between songs and it plays with emotions so much better!
14:07 Heck yeah, one of my favorite songs let's goooooo! 5:15 Circe did it just 'cause she can, they technically didn't do anything in the OG story. Ancient greek men didn't exactly like the idea of a woman with more power (even some tales of Athena get her almost SA'd, and even though it's not the most common myth about Artemis and Orion as being lovers, that's the one that's stuck around even though that doesn't make sense for her at all and a lot of people of ancient times complained about trying to ship them), so there's no explanation for it in the odyssey myths. Circe is a "witch" and witches just do witchy things. That being said in a modern perspective when you put all the stories of nymphs (she's the child of helios and a nymph) and how they're normally the victims in myths, and there aren't exactly good stories of what happens when you leave a sailor alone on the sea for too long. Plus you add the that fact she is a greek goddess, even as a demi-god, the greek gods are known to do things just 'cause. Circe a big powerful witch turning people into pigs, kinda valid for the setting. The added context of the last time someone came by they were pillaged is musical only, but it makes sense. Another change I like, that the musical did, is that they made it so Odysseus extremely loyal to his wife. In many og versions of the Odyssey, Odysseus is stuck on the island with her for a year, they have several sons and it's implied due to Odysseus's cunning and power bestowed by Hermes (which Hermes is his great grandfather, as is the case with many greek kings being the son of one god/goddess/nymph or another which is why even though Athena left him Hermes still stuck around), he can tame even the most powerful woman. I think that's why I'm really glad Madeline Miller twisted the narrative in her book "Circe." It's just a shame that due to COVID and all the changes with HBO, I don't think we're ever going to get the Circe TV series we were promised (based off previously said book).
Im so excited that youre doing a part two!!! It's kind of funny that Matthew was excited to listen to more and ended up listening to unreleased/unfinished songs😂.
As many people have mentioned, since this is a retelling of the Odyssey it would be well worth listening to these songs in order as a lot of the songs feed into each other. There are also some pre-release versions of songs with temp voices so keeping the full released version will also help make more sense. Glad that you are enjoying the songs though, now go enjoy the story too!
So, Dangerous and Get in the Water are not fully released yet, future songs get snippets released, and it hypes everyone up so much. It also sounds like the Get in the Water snippet and Wouldn't You Like snippet you reacted to was a Jorge draft/the audition example, as he released examples and instrumentals for open auditions when he needed characters. I know you always jump around when listening to songs, but I think for context you should at some point listen to all the songs in order.
I've been following Epic the Musical since december 2022 and im so happy that your reacting to it! some of the songs that you reacted to are either in the works/unreleased (dangerous & get in the water) and the animatic for Wouldn't you like was created before the circe saga was released (which is the saga the song is in), so thats why its just Jay (Odysseus) singing in it!
11:52, the instrument is called a lyre. It's the instrument Apollo uses. Oh and most songs you listened too aren’t the fully released versions, and aren’t in order. So if you want, you can listen to the fully released versions in order and hopefully have it make much more sense 💙
1. So glad I get to watch these with you… 2. Wish you’d watch them in order, - though I understand! 3. Do you have a favorite character?/ or Vocal performance? Hard question I know 4. The Get in the water was a demo. 5. There are a lot of beautiful animatics! Aren’t there
from what i understand, Poseidon sounds like Odysseus because it is the same person singing. The song hasn't been released on an ep yet, and (in that case) the creator does both voices (the same goes for Hermes, but the song is out now)
The reason that in “Get in The Water” Poseidon sounds like Odysseus is because the guy who made the musical isn’t finished and that is one of the unfinished songs were he is singing instead of the original voice actor for Poseidon.
Get In the Water sounds like Odysseus because Odysseus is sung by Jorge, the writer of Epic. The audio used is unofficial audio posted by Jorge on TikTok, but it's supposed to be a Poseidon song. It hasn't be released on streaming yet.
you should seriously listen in order. PLEASE OH MY GOD. There are 4 sagas out so far, the longest one has 5 songs, you could absolutely do one saga per video. I know normally you don't listen in order but with this musical you REAAAALLLY have to there's so much lost from the songs when you don't know the context, not just storywise but musically, Jay uses motifs and instruments VERY VERY VERY particularly and you'll never catch those things if you listen out of order. PLEASE you are doing yourself SUCH a huge disservice. Here's the sagas that have released so far and their songs in order, if you happen to see this comment and take everyone's advice to listen in order. The Troy Saga: - The Horse and The Infant - Just A Man - Full Speed Ahead - Open Arms - Warrior of the Mind The Cyclops Saga: - Polyphemus - Survive - Remember Them - My Goodbye The Ocean Saga: - Storm - Luck Runs Out - Keep Your Friends Close - Ruthlessness The Circe Saga: - Puppeteer - Wouldn't You Like - Done For - There Are Other Ways There's also one more saga, The Underworld Saga, that will be released (hopefully soon) before Act 1 is completed. Then we have another handful of sagas coming for act 2, very exciting :>
"get in the water" at the moment is a demo the official version hasn't been released. I'm waiting for the official "dangerous" and "get in the water" to be released or see if they got cut from the sound track when the final saga part 1 or the underworld saga gets released on April 26th and some of theses animatics are using the demos of epic songs because the official saga came out after the animatics were created there's the Troy Saga, the cyclops saga, the ocean saga, and the circe saga are all out now
Thank you for reacting to epic! there's still some more songs like puppeteer, there are other ways, the complete version of wouldnt you like, and also some songs from the ocean saga! but thanks for doing a part 2 :)
Thank you for doing a part two, Mathew!! I love Epic and your first video definitely delivered. To answer your question about the voices in Epic (8:54), most of the animatics you listened to are for unreleased songs, and those snippets are usually voiced by Jorge Riverra-Herrans (the man who voices Odysseus). Keep up the good work. I love your stuff.
I strongly recommend that you find out more about the order of the songs, because many of them from the video have not even been officially released yet... This is not the full version of them, just rough drafts 😢
Watching this made me realize that Odysseus tells the Cyclops "I am your darkest moment" in Remember Them, and Poseidon tells Odysseus that in Ruthlessness
For the record, get in the water is Poseidon, but the full musical isn't out yet so that's the person who sings Odysseus creating the concept for the song. Also, you listened to the concept version of "wouldn't you like", I'd recommend finding the full version that has come out since then!
Matthew: Wait, that sounds like Odysseus!! Well, ya, this is supposed to be Poseidon, but it’s a demo that the writer, who plays Odysseus, made before he hired the actor for Poseidon. This made me laugh so hard lol
You should follow closely the musical progression and Jay's social medias. Most of the songs haven't been officially released, and Jay explains with short videos the meaning behind each motif and instruments choices.
Just so you know Mathew, there are official animatics and I'm pretty sure most of the animatics you're watching are the official animatics, at least the Wolfy the Witch ones definitely are. you are listening to these songs in exactly the way you are supposed to.
Love that you watched random songs and two that aren't even officially out. You should really watch them in order, it will make much more sense! And you should watch the actual "Wouldn't You Like" its one of the best songs in my opinion.
Dude, you need to watch Survive. It’s like the most iconic song, and one of the most intense aside from Ruthlessness. Also what you were saying about how they didn’t even kill Polyphemus, the cyclops, yeah. That’s actually WHY Poseidon’s pissed. If they’d killed him, this entire situation for the most part wouldn’t have happened.
The thing is that a large part of the musical hasn't been released officially yet. It's only up to the Circe storyline. However, there are many demos and snippets that have been released, just not with the voice actors or full instrumentation
In the book, the men are gluttonous, and that's why Circe turns them into pigs. She also tries to turn Odysseus into a pig before he reveals himself to be immune to the magic (by threatening her with his sword). She then invites him to her bed to try to lower his guard and enchant him there. Hermes is voiced by TROY (and he really is silly goofy). Get in the Water isn't officially released yet, and Jay hasn't done a recording with the vocalist for Poseidon. It's also after Calypso's island iirc, which is (in the book) where Poseidon sends a storm to destroy his raft trying to kill him. Wouldn't You Like now has an official recording as well, which has better audio quality. Hermes is basically there because Zeus and Athena told him to be there... more or less (I don't know the context within EPIC) Please, please watch them in order haha. They make more sense in order, and there's several songs that lead into each other. I know you say you focus too much on the plot, but isn't that the idea with these sorts of musicals? Ah well, enjoyed as always Mathew!
Epic is an all singing musical, all the songs go seamlessly with no scenes in between. Not all are finished so it's best to listen to the ones posted on spotify. Most if not all of these were snippets recorded by the creator, not the official songs or voices
I would recommend eventually listening to the final releases. They are more fleshed out and have individual singer's vs the ticktock sounds and animatics that have Jorge Rivera Herans singing all the parts (because it can be confusing). Some of the songs have even been altered and slightly changed, especially with Hermes songs (they are more exciting).
The music of Epic the musical is very good and I loved that you continued reacting to the songs! although I recommend that you watch it in order to better understand the story :D Just in case some of the songs you hear aren't complete, that's why they sound different or aren't complete haha
Before the cast was chosen, the main creator(who also voices Odysseus) voiced all the characters himself. This Poseidon is him and the one you heard in Ruthlessness is the new actor who didn't have a chance to voice this song yet.
I know he usually doesn't listen to songs in order but I think in this case listening to them in order would help with context and not having to spend time for each song trying to figure out which part of the story is even happening during each song. I feel it would be much more enjoyable that way
I really think that to understand appreciate the musical genius of these songs you have to watch them in order. The writer weaves every single song and theme into each other and it's incredible. This is the first time I've honestly kind of wanted to turn the video off because it's so frustrating when you could get it so easily.
the fact he isn't makes me want to slap the hell out of him. cause I get like, hazbin hotel, cause there is lots of talking in between. but here, the story is only the musicals, and a few words here and there.
PLEASE watch them in order! It'll be so cool to watch you react to them this way. They come out in 'chapters' in a way. The musical is not fully out yet but you have 3 chapters to listen to so far with a few songs in every chapter!
I love it so much!!! Can’t wait for more!!! I’m sure others have mentioned but some of the audios were before the final cast members were chosen and that’s why they sounded like Odysseus.
was so keen to do a part 2 so here u go 💙

13. Ruthlessness
CIRCE SAGA:
14. Puppeteer
15. Wouldn’t You Like
16. Done For

Here's also a playlist I made for the animatics in order:
th-cam.com/play/PLjaNJHXk-DKfRNTRwPDW5BZiOP3_6OSoV.html&si=I9B-3bPbRev8UIMi
Commenting to try and boost this, because the playlist is great! 😊
@@jrblake03027 Thank you! I’m glad you liked my playlist!
I hope he at least considers it. It’d be great to see his reaction to the musical in order.
You don't need context for these songs. They're good on their own
In Get in the Water, the voice actor (and writer of the series) is actually singing Poseidon since it's a demo.
"I just blinded him" yes, that was worse than death in Greece
Dangerous, Get in the Water, and that version of Wouldn't You Like are all unfinished. There is a version of Wouldn't You Like that is finished but idk if it has any animatics yet.
It does, ones pretty good too.
Feel like he needs a fan of EPIC to organise what he watches. It hurts to see him watch outdated versions or stuff out of order.
3:15 "the details are a little bit fuzzy" BOY IF YOU LISTENED TO THE PREVIOUS SONGS IN ORDER YOU WILL KNOW- I CAN'T 😭😭
Matthew: Doesnt watch the musical in order.
Also Matthew: "Everything doesnt make sense!"
"That's a look that screams imma tell my daddy" is so accurate
Mr. Mathew, i highly recommend you listen/watch these song anamatics in order. It will make so much more sense
For example: the video for Wouldn't You Like that you used is using the demo for the song and the full version was released on February 14 so you aren't getting the full experience of the song by using the demo
epic has been a growing hyperfixation of mine since feb 2023 and im SO excited that ur checking it out again its just incredible
every song after the circe saga, which ends after there are other ways, are not offical yet. all the characters are voiced by jorge LOL . they get the snippets of the songs from his tiktoks!
you listened to the wrong version of wouldnt you like 😞 sobs
Here's a list of all the songs in order:
The Troy Saga:
-The horse and the infant
-Just a man
-Full speed ahead
-Open Arms
-Warrior of the mind
The Cyclops Saga:
-Polyphemus
-Survive
-Remember them
-My goodbye
The Ocean Saga:
-Storm
-Luck runs out
-Keep your friends close
-Ruthlessness
The Circe Saga:
-Puppeteer
-Wouldn't you like
-Done for
-There are other ways
Listen to them in order, everything will make so much sense and you'll get a good grasp of what's happening in the story (it also adds more emotion).
The version you heard of done for was just a demo, the whole song (with animatics) was released on february 14th
Dangerous and Get in the water are both unreleased songs.
He doesn't listen to musicals in order, unfortunately. I know it's frustrating, but better not get your hopes up T^T
Made a playlist with animatics lol
th-cam.com/play/PLPMxxnGfu6sHIFSB6Qo1IaiHUJopFbd4F.html
hey, the musical is still a work in progress so make sure you listen to the full songs, for example the song "wouldn't you like" that you played is just half of the full song, te actuall full song released like a month ago
The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th was just a snippet of the songs
The part about Poseidon gouging out Odyesseus's son's eyes is because he blinded one of Poseidon's sons
It's literally an eye for an eye
How did I never notice that
Hey, Mathew, there are 17 songs completed in the musical, why did you chose three that aren't? T^T
Like.
Yes there are 17 songs on spotify completed. the rest are 3/4 or 1/2 completed. out of 40 songs. but the god games are short and we are still waiting on apollos demo I'm pretty sure? all 40 have a finished idea but the voiced and production of it is in the making
yeaah he chose the three that have not yet come out haha
'Wouldn't you like' is out though @@michix_4063
20 now
Some of the voices are gonna be different in some songs, because not all of the songs are released. Jorge (the creator and the guy who plays Odysseus) releases some clips of the songs before they’re performed by the actual voice actors. That’s why in Get In The Water Poseidon sounds different because it’s not Poseidon’s voice actor it’s Jorge, same with Wouldn’t You Like (although that song is out now, the animatic was just created before it was)
DO THEM IN ORDER!!!! PLEASE!!!!
The reason Poseidon sounds like Odysseus in "get in the water" is it's not released yet and the writer/director/etc was showing a little bit of it off and he's the voice for Odysseus 👍
5:15 "I'm sad that the details are a bit fuzzy to me" THEN WATCH IT IN ORDER
Exactly!
THIS MUSICAL IS LITERALLY SO GOOD THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO IT😩
Part Three please!
Or just picking random chapters to read then complaining it makes no sense
Cyclops: IMMA TELL MY DADDY
bloody killed me
Ok so just to add to the horde of people who have already explained this but: Epic is _not finished_ yet!
Please don't break our hearts Matthew 😢
Everyone wants you to watch it in order, so just why?😭
There are lines that repeat again and again and you won't ever dive into it if you just hear them randomly.
Reactions to animatics for songs that havent even been fully released yet? They're more likely than you think
You can't complain about being confused if you refuse to actually watch these in order...
Exactly! Especially knowing that it's out of order
1. So glad I get to watch these with you…
2. Wish you’d watch them in order, - though I understand!
3. Do you have a favorite character?/ or Vocal performance? Hard question I know
4. The Get in the water was a demo.
5. There are a lot of beautiful animatics! Aren’t there
from what i understand, Poseidon sounds like Odysseus because it is the same person singing. The song hasn't been released on an ep yet, and (in that case) the creator does both voices
(the same goes for Hermes, but the song is out now)
The creator does not do both voices he only does both voices when it is unreleased
@@DinoandGalaxy that's what I mean. The songs are either unreleased, or the recording is from that time
@@NicoAshKurz ah ok I thought you were talking about if the voice of Odysseus did both Odysseus and Poseidon permanently
@@DinoandGalaxy but thanks for saying that, i now added a "in that case" to maybe make it a bit clearer
@@NicoAshKurz your good it’s my bad 😅
The reason that in “Get in The Water” Poseidon sounds like Odysseus is because the guy who made the musical isn’t finished and that is one of the unfinished songs were he is singing instead of the original voice actor for Poseidon.
Get In the Water sounds like Odysseus because Odysseus is sung by Jorge, the writer of Epic. The audio used is unofficial audio posted by Jorge on TikTok, but it's supposed to be a Poseidon song. It hasn't be released on streaming yet.
No I died when he finished watching “remember them” had he said “oh yeah, that’s the look of ‘imma tell my daddy’”
you should seriously listen in order.
The Troy Saga:
- The Horse and The Infant
- Just A Man
- Full Speed Ahead
- Open Arms
- Warrior of the Mind
The Cyclops Saga:
- Polyphemus
- Survive
- Remember Them
- My Goodbye
The Ocean Saga:
- Storm
- Luck Runs Out
- Keep Your Friends Close
- Ruthlessness
The Circe Saga:
- Puppeteer
- Wouldn't You Like
- Done For
- There Are Other Ways
There's also one more saga, The Underworld Saga, that will be released (hopefully soon) before Act 1 is completed. Then we have another handful of sagas coming for act 2, very exciting :>
This video was great. The thunder saga just came out and the underworld saga is Amazing, can you do a part 3 for them, I think you'll love them!
Mathew i KNOW you would have ADORED the rest of Wouldn't You Like SOOO MUCH because the second verse is actually THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE SONG.
Matthew: Wait, that sounds like Odysseus!!
Well, ya, this is supposed to be Poseidon, but it’s a demo that the writer, who plays Odysseus, made before he hired the actor for Poseidon. This made me laugh so hard lol
Some songs are not yet fully out so they are performed by the actor for Odysseus in the mean time. That’s why Poseidon sounds different.
I nearly broke a nail in excitement when you said we would be watching WOLFY’S Remember Them
…I might be too big of a Wolfy fan…
You’ve gotta listen to Survive it is one of the best in the Epic Musical. It’s bold, emotional, and incredibly cinematic.
Hermes is basically there because Zeus and Athena told him to be there... more or less (I don't know the context within EPIC)
Please, please watch them in order haha. They make more sense in order, and there's several songs that lead into each other. I know you say you focus too much on the plot, but isn't that the idea with these sorts of musicals? Ah well, enjoyed as always Mathew!
mathew i am BEGGING you, listen to Survive in the Cyclops Saga, and Polyphemus. those two will forever be my FAVORITES
(and watch the animations)
Epic is an all singing musical, all the songs go seamlessly with no scenes in between. Not all are finished so it's best to listen to the ones posted on spotify. Most if not all of these were snippets recorded by the creator, not the official songs or voices
The remaining songs you need to do: Polyphemus/Survive, Keep your friends close, Puppeteer, proper Wouldn't you like, Storm.
PLEASE WATCH IN ORDER OMG.
All of this would make so much more sense if you watched it in order.
17:22 😂😂 “I’ma tell my Daddy!”
FOR THE LOVE OF EPIC…please listen in order…
I would recommend eventually listening to the final releases. They are more fleshed out and have individual singer's vs the ticktock sounds and animatics that have Jorge Rivera Herans singing all the parts (because it can be confusing). Some of the songs have even been altered and slightly changed, especially with Hermes songs (they are more exciting).
The music of Epic the musical is very good and I loved that you continued reacting to the songs! although I recommend that you watch it in order to better understand the story :D
Just in case some of the songs you hear aren't complete, that's why they sound different or aren't complete haha
The voice of Hermes is actually Troy Doherty who makes music of his own!!
Thank god he did a part 2 these songs are amazing.
I feel it would be much more enjoyable that way
I sware the “ima tell my daddy” killed me-
😂🤣
I really think that to understand appreciate the musical genius of these songs you have to watch them in order. The writer weaves every single song and theme into each other and it's incredible. This is the first time I've honestly kind of wanted to turn the video off because it's so frustrating when you could get it so easily.
One of the song i think you reacted in the last video had poseidon using Odysseus's words in this song as a way to mock him
PLEASE WATCH THE WHOLE MUSICAL IN ORDER🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I know everyone else has already said this but please please listen to them in order. It makes everything so much better
the fact he isn't makes me want to slap the hell out of him. cause I get like, hazbin hotel, cause there is lots of talking in between. but here, the story is only the musicals, and a few words here and there.
WE'LL NEED ANOTHER PART, please ❤ There's so much more and you'll love it
PLEASE watch them in order!
Please PLEASE watch them in order
