#Cairns is a small port city with access to a bounty of natural beauty. This eastern Australia city is where the rainforest meets the reef, with Daintree Rainforest to the north and the Great Barrier Reef to the east.
Start your #vacation in Cairns with some of the open parklands in the city center or by going for a short swim in the man-made lagoon. Rent a bike on the promenade or hit the waves at Trinity Beach for a surf. A trip on the Skyrail® Rainforest Cableway is Cairns #sightseeing at its best. The cable car will take you over the canopy of tropical rainforest and waterfalls.
At Hartleys Crocodile Adventures take a boat ride through a swamp-like habitat where several of the reptiles live. Cairns tours should always include a stop to the Cairns Tropical Zoo, where you can make some kangaroo and koala friends.

We LOVE living here and experiencing all of the natural wonders
I was there as a young backpacker in 1983. Magical place. I had coral trout for dinner one evening and my first ever baked oysters with smoked salmon and cream cheese....delicious food!
Cairns is also a great kick off point for cape tribulation which is the oldest forest in the world!!!
Great barrier reef is must visit place in Australia
Loved this place and eventually stayed here for two full weeks. Loved the vibe. It was such a relaxed place where you could go out and also have relaxed days!

I love Cairns I cannot wait to get back up there my dream is to go up the Cape York and in 2024 that is where I'm going to it is a wonderful place and would recommend everyone go up there and see it and I cannot wait to get back there when all this business is over now and we all can travel back up there again that will be a wonderful time👍👍🏻🐠🦋

One of the best holidays I've ever had was in Cairns - make sure you check out Trinity beach, Palm Cove and Port Douglass when there.
How long you think i need to see it in its totality
@@marvingroot7210 yeah if you're talking about Cairns itself maybe 3-5 days? (not the city but the beaches/rainforests).. but if you want to see the greater region (port Douglas etc) I'd give yourself a solid 7 days.

Cairns is one of my favourites places and I have tavelled alot. But expensive like anything in Australia. Better value in Thailand!
Yes, I agree, but Thailand is slowly trying to catch up,...in ten years it could be as expensive as Australia.

I'm strongly considering leaving Toronto Canada in a few years and moving to Australia. I don't know where exactly, but I know I want to reside in Queensland. I definitely want sunshine as much as possible year round, though I wouldn't mind a nice big thunderstorm here and there. How's the weather in Cairns? Does it rain a lot? I hear you guys experience typhoons? How does that feel like? lol. What would you say are the pros and cons of living in Cairns?

Nomadicdesi Adventures neither 😋 to be serious though the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast has better weather and better beaches. The Gold Coast where the beach meets the city or Sunshine Coast which isnt so tropical and our huge beaches.

90 minutes in a cable car is a long time and sounds V. boring
Mathemagician 4 I lived there have been on the sky rail many times and it's not 90 mins lol. There's break platforms in between where you can get off and walk in the rainforest. I guess the whole circuit there and back could be 90 mins added up??

Cairns is great for tourism, lots of natural beautiful places, but I lived there for 12 years and let me tell you as a local it's a shit hole :') Living everyday life there, the city is crap and some of the people there are absolute bogans. It's great for a visit but no longer than that.
Don't fall for the hype! The beaches in Cairns SUCK. If you dont have a car, the other places are unaccessible... The GBR is the best thing but is hell of expensive. Dont fall for it like I did.....Wish I had gone to stay in a pretty beach town...not a mud flat.

Yeah I lived in Cairns for 12 years and think it's a shit hole. It's good for a tourism visit and to go to all the natural places but to live as a local it's not great.
