Having spent almost a decade into screenwriting where I’ve been taught to always pitch ideas and concepts before even writing a single line, I have to admit this approach killed 99% of my ideas-probably saving me some precious time. However, it is definitely true that the minute I tell someone about an idea or a concept, the pressure I put onto myself impedes my creativity; resulting more than often in me abandonning the story. Now you’ve put words on that feeling I know what I have to do. Thanks!
Ah, loved this video. I made a mistake and shared the name of my main character with a friend, and the reaction she had on her face threw me into a writer-block-loop for three months. It took me months to finally realize that I kept seeing her face in my head each time I sat down to write 😅Changing the character's name helped. Since then I have had this protective feeling with my scripts for so long, and I always thought it was a reflection of something wrong with me. I appreciate how this video helped shift the story I tell myself about it :)
Names hey... I totally get it :) I'm so glad that you enjoyed this video. If you have anything specific you'd like to see in 2025, let me know. Have the best December :)
Do you need accountability to write a book in 2025?
This is great when considering what it is like to work for oneself when compared to having a writing job.

Thank you @@MargueriteFaure! I would love to know more about your journey. How you went from script writing to novel writing etc. :)
Definitely some food for thought there 👍
Aw, thanks!
