If you were a beginner climber again, what would you do differently? And do you have any tips for progressing fast as a beginner climber? Keep up the great videos, they inspire me every day to climb and train harder!
Many people does not have the posibility to climb 3-4 days a week, many people can climb once every one or two week. A good answer should consider also that category.
The question was how to progress fast as a beginner climber. You will make progress climbing 1-2 times a week but it will be by no means 'fast'. That being said some people are just more in-tune with the types of movement climbing requires and could potentially see great progress at the initial stages of climbing whilst only climbing 1-2 times a week.
If you can't get to the wall 3-4 days a week, you can always supplement your climbing with other training. push ups, pull ups, L hangs, leg raises, planks, pinch training (disc weights are good), invest in hang board (beginners should only do very very light finger training, as in jug dead hangs), hand stand push ups... but there is no replacement for being on the wall as technique is just as important as physical fitness.
I think its cool the relationship you and your sis have, like close friends. And it is also cool to see the respect you have for her as a female climber. I think what the people were trying to say is that their surprised at how strong of a climber she is for a female and I think that is do to her training with you and like she said other guys.. You should also do a video with Sasha and Hannah
Another great vlog and good to see your sister is pretty much as strong as you! My question for the Q&A is, could you give your opinion as to the order of importance of the following factors which affect one's climbing progress: - strength - nutrition - technique - mental attitude - training facility availability - partners or 'social group' you climb/train with
Hi Magnus, probably a weird question; but i wondered if you could tell us a little about yourself. Where you grew up, when you started climbing and how your progression went, and how you became so darn good at climbing. Keep up the good work, love the vlog!
Hi Magnus. Thank you so much for having more women in the vlog! it means a lot, thanks. my question is how do you avoid finger injuries? and do you have any tips for resting/taping or healing tendons?
As I'm meddling in bouldering a little myself, the way I found to avoid most serious scratches is to release your grip quickly if you feel like you are falling, and also measure your strength and don't advance too much onto the hold you'll not be able to manage. The most serious skin losses happen when you strongly grip the hold you will not be able to hold onto anyway, so you just slide off with huge friction - just learn to avoid such situations. Otherwise - yes, fingers still get skinned, but your body usually manages to regrow your skin faster (and harder) over time.
Hey Magnus! My question would be: what is the best crag you ever climbed at and why? And what is the crag you never climbed at but want to in the future? Greets from Austria 😁
I hear many olympic athletes don't even get much money out of their endeavor. They get used and abused by the machine, and get cast aside as soon as the next hopeful star shows up.
Hey Magnus ! Are there specific boulderproblems or sport climbing routes that you are really psyched to work on in the future even for a longer time (maybe change in flatanger)?
Hi! :) Thanks for your amazing vlogs! I have a question that I am hoping to get picked \m/ .. Over the past couple of years indoor bouldering and top rope climbing are becoming very popular. This will bring a certain change to climbing. Where do you see climbing as a sport in a couple of years from now and where would you (as a pro climber) like it to be? Thanks a lot and keep up the good work :) Cheers!
YASS the episode I've been hoping for! Thanks, Hannah is brilliant! Q1: did you ever consider any other career besides climbing? Q2: have you ever experienced serious disillusionment in the sport itself, so much that you considered quitting, and if so, how did you deal with that moment?
Advice to be determinate and offer much energy and time in climbing. And follow your goals?⛰ Can you feel it hard to choose climbing instead of everything else you like to do in life?🤔
Hey Magnus. Okay so, when you were a competition climber, how did you prepare yourself both physically and mentally before a big competition? Like sleep, your diet, and sessions before the day.
have you had coaches that trained you, if so, what are the most important lessons they taught you and the most important benefits you got from working with them?
Hey Magnus, how do you train flexibility? I am having trouble with it and would love some advice. Also some reading says it's directly affected by what you eat. Cheers!
@@timeslowingdown I can recomend wax-bars like the one from "climb on". For not tearing skin open: Try to avoid sliding with the hand while you hold a grip.
Hey Magnus! * I love your vlogs - they've really come into their own since you started holding the camera yourself. Like people have said before me; it seems a lot more genuine and authentic that way. When you talk to the camera, it's like we're hanging out and not just "watching", which is a big reason people enjoy vlogs. * I love that you say "we". When you say "we", I feel like you're appreciating and acknowledging the viewers a lot. * Your editing is on point. You've come a long way, every video is fresh and well done. Keep experimenting! * Keep including females! Your sister is super strong and inspiring. It's a breath of fresh air and will attract more female viewers. I don't think the male viewers mind watching strong ladies either ;) If I can offer some tips, you can choose what you'd like to take with you in the future vlogs :) Here are some things I notice from other vloggers, that seems effective: * At the _end_ of your vlog, remind viewers to "like, share and subscribe" if they like the video or enjoy your content overall. That way more people will subscribe to your channel, as well as share your content with friends, family or just on their personal social media, which will increase the amount of views and hits on your channel. I believe people won't mind, because we are here to join you on your journey, and we want you to succeed! We are super happy to feel like we can be a small part of your life and want to support you any way we can :) * "Please like, share and subscribe" is also a good way to wrap up your vlogs. If you do it roughly the same way every time you end the vlogs, viewers know what to expect and the ending will be less "abrupt". Maybe sometimes you feel like talking about the day's accomplishments or struggles. Maybe sometimes you're just tired and want to put the camera down. Either way, if you always end with turning to your camera saying something along the lines of: "Thank you for joining me today, guys! It was a really [rough/good/productive/boring/whatever] day [and/but] I'm really happy [to have your support/to have you with me]. If you enjoyed it, make sure to like, share and subscribe for more videos and I'll see you [soon/tomorrow/whenever]!" Make it your own and say what naturally comes to you, and I'm sure you'll make it work splendidly :) * I love that you connect to viewers in the middle of the video and tell them to comment, it is super important and shows that you care. Unfortunately, most people on the TH-cam platform does not comment, for one reason or the other. However, if you've already encouraged them to "like, share and subscribe" at some point in the video, people will get new incentives to do just that; show their support easily and with little effort. * I love your awkward moments and quirks; that's what makes you relatable and enjoyable to watch. Never stop being you and do what you feel is right. Take every tip with a grain of salt, try it out, throw it away if you don't like it, or use it if it fits you. Every time you show your feelings of happiness or struggle, we are feeling it with you, so don't be afraid to open up if you feel like it. Lots of love and good luck! We're rooting for you, Magnus :D
Magnus. You have got the biceps, the looks, the swag, the skills etc. But you are still a human. How do you deal with fear and (self) doubt? Or frustration? Any mental training, meditation etc...?
Some other youtube-vloggers arrange gatherings for all their fans. Would you be interested in making an event at one of the popular crags around Oslo? To hang out, climb and enjoy the last bit of summer, as well as meeting other fans and fellow climbers :)
Hi Magnus, do you ever enjoy "easy" routes like 6c/7a? Do you find them hard sometime? Can you show how you climb on "easy" routes? It would be very isntructive, may be with someone struggling on it as a comparison..OUTDOOR obviously
great video, again :) So what about frictionboard? Is it selling well? Do you guys plan on selling just the hardware part of the kit (instead of dispatching a ton of plywood boards?) Why people keep asking "what shoes do you wear" when that is is something that is so "feet dependent"? What works for one may be terrible for another.
i stopped watching superhero movies, but if she acted in a superhero movie i deffinetely watch it.. it would so realistic, she look so strong.. also cute as hell tho
Watching your sister climb doesnt remind me of a guy climbing. :P She is awesome at climbing and nice to watch. ;) Siblings are what great, especilly if one can share the same interests. Keep it up to climb with her. :D
Is your sister engaged? Just kidding, nice to see you get on well being two crushers! Any plans for future trips together? Thank you for making the Q&A reality!

Attempt to climb at least 3-4 days a week. As a beginner you don't need anything special, work on your fundamentals and be consistent.

While that used to be obvious, these days you can't be sure about anything.
hahaha. funny stuff~
Its sound so weird out of context. Lmao
Thank you Magnus Midtbø for all of your nice vlogs!

hey magnus, do you train with periodization or include it in any way in your training process?
Holy, your sister is stronger than most other guys :D
love you guys watching climbing, you brought me to bouldering and i am so thankful for that
Magnus, just wanna say that the gym looks amazing with alot of potential to evolve climbing skills.
As always, loving the vlog!
5/5 toasts
The fans welcome and enjoy seeing Hannah and others in general.
My question as an intermediate boulderer: what to do if you hit the plateau and feel you're progressing very slowly. Thanks.

Hey Magnus, thanks for the videos, I enjoy them a lot, keep up your good work.
You guys look so incredibly similar haha :)
It's really fun to see the moves and route. Must be my favourite video (in the gym) so far!
Magnus, what are your best tips for transitioning from climbing in a gym to climbing outdoors?
Advice to be determinate and offer much energy and time in climbing. And follow your goals?⛰
Can you feel it hard to choose climbing instead of everything else you like to do in life?🤔
Hey Magnus.
Okay so, when you were a competition climber, how did you prepare yourself both physically and mentally before a big competition? Like sleep, your diet, and sessions before the day.
Seemingly in other videos he eats whatever he wants and makes him feel good. Looks like it works!
have you had coaches that trained you, if so, what are the most important lessons they taught you and the most important benefits you got from working with them?
What kind of non climbing strength training would you recommended each week for beginners?
any particular outdoor routes/boulders that you really wanna climb in the future?
Hey Magnus, how do you train flexibility? I am having trouble with it and would love some advice. Also some reading says it's directly affected by what you eat. Cheers!

What do you do for skin care?
This, also how to avoid tearing skin open on rough holds? I know it just happens sometimes but any suggestions?
Chalk 😂😂

Love the videos man, just started a new workout plan trying to get stronger this climbing season, Cheers from Nevada.
How do you get over plateaus in climbing?
Plateaus are quite flat. Should not require any climbing at all.
Joe Thompson why doesn’t this response have like a thousand likes I’m dead
