Warhammer 40k Lore - What is a Craftworld?

A: The Craftworlds are one of the most intresting aspects of Eldar lore. Those ships are a lasting reminder of the once great Eldar empire.

Technically the harlequins are craftworld eldars too as the black library is a craftworld ship too.
Altansar is the sister ship of Ulthwe so it looks like what Ulthwe used to be. Ulthwe has been heavily modified during the neverending eldar exodus by smaller ships and even smaller craftworlds merged into it becoming the biggest known eldar craftworld and acts more like an eldar fortress space station than an actual space ship. Ulthwe is kinda the Cadia of eldars.

Ah the Eldar Craftworlds are very interesting pieces of Xenos technology that for the common eye is a massive Ark Ship of their species, but to an expert Eye it is so much more. These vessels are a prime piece of the Eldar Empire technology now long gone, for only a few remain in the Galaxy. In those Dark Days of the Eldar Empire view the Craftworlds Eldar were considered as outcast and misfits, but it could have been said that the Craftworld Eldar are what truly remain of their long lost Empire. As an Inquisitor of the Ordos Xenos, I have taken an interest in tracking these massive ships, while some of my colleagues truly wish the destruction of the Eldar, but by the Decree of the Lord Regent we have an... alliance with the Eldar. Though considering that the Imperium at large is under siege all across the Galaxy, we are in desperate need of a Alliance with the Eldar, at the very least they do not corrupt the human souls unlike Chaos.
