Barry Gibb, the main singer, did a documentary called "The Last BeeGee" after all his brothers had died. He said that instead of all the fame and fortune, he said that his greatest accomplishment was his wife, children, and grandchildren. ❤️
Slick, This song takes me back to late 1977. I was 5 years old. The first time I heard this song was in our car with my mom. It was her first time hear it also. It came on over the radio and we both got quiet. It was like God and all his Angels were singing. I will never forget that feeling I had. My mom felt the same thing. She went and bought the 8 track tape from the BeeGee's that same day and it never came out of the 8 track player when she was in the car. I will always remember that memory in my life and I got to share that with my mom. Music is so powerful and beautiful.
I really enjoy your enjoyment for the Bee Gee's Music!!! Welcome to Their Rabbit Hole!!! they have Been preforming since 1958 and they came from England and moved to Austrailia and the only Brother Barry is left alive and still preforming, Barry was knighted by King Charles for his Music, I started listening to them in 1977, when a girl friend of mine gave me their "Main Course" album for My 1977 graduation from High School in El Segunda CA, Barry and his Brothers wrote the Score for the Movie "Saturday Night Fever" in 1977 and this song "How Deep is Your Love" is on the soudtrack of the Movie!!! they have been pumping out hits for close to fifty years!!! Barry has written songs for Dionne Warwick, Tina Turner, Kenny Rogers, Franki Valli (Grease) Barbra Streisand, and countless Others Enjoy!!!
These guys are brothers, the lead here is Barry Gibb, the other 2 are fraternal twins Robin and Maurice, (said Morris), their mum was a singer before she married. They sang together since little, were signed when Barry was 16, the twins were 3 years younger. They wrote over 1,000 songs between them, dad asked how, Barry said they only ever put emotions to music. They had a big sister and a younger bro, who both sang very well, Andy has a few hits, then sadly passed away at almost 30. Their sister Lesley didn't go for a career in music. Try "More than a Woman," "Jive Talking," "Staying Alive," "Too much Heaven." All the best.
This is when they were already old men. This song is for their youngest brother Andy who passed away many years ago. The song was originally released by Andy as an independent. I think this was their last performance together. The only brother still alive is the lead, Barry. He was the oldest brother. Where was I….? I was a toddler in the back seat of my parent’s car. I don’t remember not knowing what they looked like. Their pictures were on my parents’ vinyl albums. I have always known the “Bee Gees”.❤
This song was never released by Andy, but the song they did for Andy at this concert (One Night Only in Las Vegas) was Our Love-Don't Throw It All Away & first released by him in 1978. They also went on to do their One Night Only World Tour plus several other performances before MO's untimely death in 2003.
Whenever i listen to your reactions i get such an appreciation from u of the music back then..You seem to enjoy n appreciate them...Well i hope u play it at your wedding if that's what ur wish is.... Very Appropriate....
I appreciate your respect for the bees gees. I played how deep is your love for my wedding. Everyone including the catering staff were crying. It's real shit.
I’m 52..so around 7-9years old is when I was probably first aware of them. I know they were associated with Disco but it’s their voices and beats that I think has an affect on anyone when they hear them…even the ones that won’t admit to liking them. I remember them being on lunch boxes..shirts..and posters. At that time they really were superstars…bigger than life. What I don’t think most knew then…was how rare they were…that still to this day no one sounds like them. I like watching reactions like urs because I wonder what that would be like to hear them for the first time now. I was too young when I first heard them to really appreciate their voices and the sounds they created.
Who taught him how to sing like that? The Bee Gees started singing all on their own in the mid 1950's then they were small children. They were just born with all that talent. I first heard that song and many others of the Bee Gees at disco's in NYC and in Italy.
1977, I was 17, and I was madly in love with my first love, Terry..he used to smother himself in Brut 33 aftershave because he knew I liked it but I don't think he had even started shaving at that point 🤣🤣🤣
Sweetie, most of us listening to you are a different generation. We don't get offended. We are just happy you are listening and feeling the soul frequencies that we grew up with. Now you have to watch the official video.
The Bee Gees can touch your heart like no other group! I grew up with them and the memories I have of certain songs with different people is priceless. Best group ever ❤️
BARRY Gibb had bee married for almost 30 years at this time. First time I heard this one was in the film Saturday Night Fever when it was first released in Norway. Beautiful then and it still is
That songs bring me back to when I was maybe 10 yrs old. When I hear music when I was a kid it reminds me of my brother and parents who passed. Yea this music is awesome thanks for playing!! 🙏🙏
The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack was the highest selling movie soundtrack , possibly ever. People and music industry thought they should have wonder an Academy Award for the soundtrack and many still wonder WHY it did't happen.
In that video Barry is 48 years old and the twins Robin & Maurice are 45. Here's a link to the original video/performance in 1977 when they were young and all had long hair. - th-cam.com/video/XpqqjU7u5Yc/w-d-xo.html
You should react to Man in the MIddle and Closer than Close. Mo is the lead on these and he is really smooth mellow voice. The words in the songs are great.
Hey Cooley, I was picking apples at the apple orchard when this song came on the radio in the late fall of 1977, I remember it so well because my second son was born in March of that year and he would smile real big when this song came on the radio! That little baby is now 46 years old, wow how time flies! But I've heard some great music over the years, this song included! Congratulations on 3,000 subscribers! Best of luck with your channel! Deb
Here's some great songs by Bee Gees... 1. Night Fever 2.Love You Inside And Out 3.Jive Talking 4.Fanny Be Tender With My Love 5. You Should Be Dancing They have so many great hits! I was a huge fan of Keith Sweat, but I'm sorry to tell you bro, this song was written by the Bee Gees. They wrote songs for a lot of other singers too.
I was a teenager when The movie Saturday Night Fever exploded in the theater with the BeeGees singing the soundtrack. Couldn’t get enough of them, loved Barry. They had a younger brother who found stardom as a soloist. There was a tragedy surrounding him.
Yes great reaction man, I was a child when this came out. Keep in mind that the original version came out in 1977 and this was 20 years later. The Bee Gees just discovered that they could sing with the falsettos around 1974 and they began singing in the early 60's. I would love to see your reaction to pre falsettos the video for " Run to Me" 1972 and " Fanny be tender with my love" Barry and Robin's falsettos were full on display for "Fanny" which blows every other reactor away every time 😃👍
Great reaction to a great wedding song. You and your love should react to the official video together. You will also like TO LOVE SOMEBODY (the 1967 black and white tv appearance video) and MORE THAN A WOMAN (the lyric version). Yes, that is “Daddy’s Little Girl” (the title of a song he released in 2016). Linda doesn’t give many interviews, but once said they gave up on having a little girl after the 4th boy, then Barry asked if she wanted to try just once more. They’ve been married now for over 52 years, which makes the love song all the sweeter.
I got to see The BeeGees twice in my life one of them was the One Night Only concert so I to see this beautiful performance live♥️I have always loved this group and their brother Andy too.
They didn’t sing or sound anything like that originally. Later in their mid to late 20s(don’t quote me on that) they were in the studio and Barry was warming up his voice with different sounds and exercises…when hearing that falsetto sound..the producer noticed and suggested more of it. That was how they got their sound. Pretty amazing.
I can't tell you exactly where I was at any time I heard any of the Bee Gee songs except for one the first time I heard it I was in auto shop at JBS and the name of that song was run to me. As far as where does this song or any of the Bee Gee songs for that matter take me it takes me to a Kinder gentler time it was more peaceful and loving then today is. But I have to be honest I live through three and a half Decades of some of the greatest music I've ever heard. The good music started in the middle fifties and went clear through the 80s before it started falling off big-time. I think the problem with the later music is the they started losing the the blues part of the music and that's what music started going down some. Funny thing is though in the 90s and on it seemed like what mainstream music lost meaning rock pop that the country music gained because they started becoming way more bluesy than the music I grew up on.
I have a request. 😊 Please react to The Bee Gees singing “You should be dancing” LIVE with their youngest brother Andy. (You know they are all brothers, right? and the two, Robin and Maurice are twins. Barry is the oldest and tallest. Sadly he is the only one alive today. Love this group. Please go down the rabbit hole. It’s worth your time. ❤❤❤
I first heard it on the radio in 1977. It was the first record I ever bought. 45 years later, every time I hear it, I am taken right back to 7th grade. It is one of my all-time favorite songs by one of my all-time favorite bands. Next you should check out Jive Talkin’ from 1975. You can find it live from that year. Don’t listen to one of the later concerts for it. Listen to them as they were when they wrote it! 😁
You should watch their live performance of "Don't Throw It All Away" which is for their youngest brother who died ahead of them. That's a very, very good performance in that same concert, very emotional.
I was listening to this on my new portable 8 track player in 1977. You should check out their song "Tragedy". Great upbeat song. If you do a live version do this one. It is closest to the original. [Bee Gees] - Tragedy (HD-HQ) 4:47
Check out Wedding Day by the BeeGees, fantastic wedding song. Yes that was his daughter Alli. Barry has 4 boys and 1 girl, he has 8 grandchildren. Robin the one in the middle with earring you commented on has 2 boys and 1 girl, Mo ( Maurice, pronounced Morris) has 1 boy and 1 girl. Was too long ago to remember where I was or what I was doing at the time!😉
Yes that Barry’s youngest child and only daughter Alexandra, she handed 3 roses one for each of them. The really young guitar player behind Barry is his oldest son Stephen ❤
Well I heard it in the 70's it was a different time.. where roller skating for fun was a big event.. the roller disco was the shit. It's good to see their music still inspire people I still listen to disco.. And I played blues on the also sax..
My first time hearing this song was watching the movie "Saturday Night Fever" that's where the song originated from. It's on the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack.🤓
I was about 7 when I heard it, and always think about this popular movie called Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta. It was a very sad moment around the end of the movie. I also remember a time of innocence growing up as a kid. Regarding other songs, I would recommend Baby Come Back by Player, & I Just Wanna Stop by Gino Vinelli.
If you like Bee Gees, you shoulð check out Johnny Bristol, 'Hang on in there Baby'. This guy is super talented singer and writer. Wrote for Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, a lot of Motown singers.
Robin's cancer wasn't diagnosed until 2010....13 years after this. All 3 could sing falsetto but Barry had the best & most pronounced falsetto....hence why he sang lead on many of their biggest hits.
Barry had huge problems after his back surgery, Mo said in an interview, you need a strong back to sing falsetto. Do you know their LIVE medley from Monaco in 1997? He sings there stayin alive, You should be dancing.... much more better than in this video. I think it depends on the pain he has or not. They had for a tour a special device in the tourbus where Barry could stand and hold on because he couldn't sit because of pain and still he performed on stage! Bee Gees - Londres - 1998 (legendado PT-BR)

They played this song at Robin's funeral. It was his favorite Bee Gees song.

You could do a whole Bee Gees playlist at your wedding and nobody will forget it
This was my wedding song,35 years ago. BEST BAND EVER!!!

The BeeGees have a song
called "Wedding Day" from the last album before MO died. It's a wedding must play.

This song came out at a time when the world made sense, and I'd give anything to go back. It makes me kinda sad really.
Have a listen to them singing Wedding Day. It's a beautiful wedding song .
This concert was in their older years but still awesome
Most beautiful man ever. See him in his 20s and 30s. Most incredible voice. He is a good hearted man, aging naturally, not star like. So beautiful.

I didn’t know that pop! Why you ain’t play this for me
The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack was the highest selling movie soundtrack , possibly ever. People and music industry thought they should have wonder an Academy Award for the soundtrack and many still wonder WHY it did't happen.
It takes me to time when there was real music, real talent, real meaning to lyrics!!
Barry and his wife have been married over 50 years.
It takes me back 40 years ago, roller skating to it at the drome with a girlfriend and friends & strangers doing the SAME hahahaha
Don't see as it matters, what color they are. Great music and great talent transcends all that. 😊
They can sing cause “ They Angelic Beings”. Three of the brothers have moved on to somewhere else reborn and singing love again. Thanks yo
bee gees wedding day live
I think this was their best live version of the song 😭👍🏼

He must be older here, Allie is born in 91, when Barry was 45!
This was in 1997, Barry was 51 years old!!!
You should react to Man in the MIddle and Closer than Close. Mo is the lead on these and he is really smooth mellow voice. The words in the songs are great.
Barry was in so much pain here. But he just soldiered through. He is often my reality check.
I was in high school. I have always been in love with this group ❤

In 1977 I was 11 years old, so hard to remember...But wow, yes they had so much soul and popularity.
Great song choice my man. It's a pleasure watching you.
Heard it for the First time, sitting in my room , playing old skool records of my mom.. all their music is great!
I was a young girl. Went to the movie Saturday Night Fever 🤣 and the theater was packed! They were awarded a Grammy for this soundtrack.

Music is for all of us no matter your race. It’s nice to enjoy this with you and the world. Great job I’m a new fan of yours.
Quincy Jones said the Bee Gees" FANNY, BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE" is one of the best R&B songs he ever heard. Check it Out! They show out!

This Bee Gees song, I was in my car making my way down to the beach.
Beautiful song. They actually have a song called Wedding Day which was written as a pledge to their wives. ❤
I appreciate your reactions and the fact that you maximize the artists that you are reacting to. 💯
A beautiful wedding song would also be their “Will you still love me tomorrow” cover.
❤️❤️❤️
Well I heard it in the 70's it was a different time.. where roller skating for fun was a big event.. the roller disco was the shit. It's good to see their music still inspire people I still listen to disco.. And I played blues on the also sax..

I was a senior in high school and at the prom. Disco lights and trac floor.
Great reaction to a song from when I was a teenager. Try listening to Andy Gibb, the youngest brother. All four brothers fantastic singers.
I was about 7 when I heard it, and always think about this popular movie called Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta. It was a very sad moment around the end of the movie. They were a bit old here and their voices began to suffer a bit at this point. The original studio version is pretty good though.
Only Barry's voice.
Nooooo. They sing beautifully here, roo. Love these guys. I listen to them every day.
