Silfra is a fissure located between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park in Iceland. The water in Silfra is some of the clearest in the world, with underwater visibility extending over 100 m. It's the only place in the world where you can snorkel or dive between two tectonic plates. I'll be explaining everything you need to know about snorkeling Silfra, what to expect, and if you should add it to your itinerary on your trip to Iceland.
