I feel a bit vindicated when Chris said at the end that he wishes the trade spots had 3 way swap symbology. When the designer asked for feedback early on in the campaign, I mentioned this on BGG with a triangle graphical suggestion, they saw them, and then kept the board as it was. It was disappointing because it really is difficult to know. Chris agreeing with me makes me feel like I wasn’t on an island with that suggestion.
The designer is an Indonesian who lives and works in Japan. He sometimes goes back to Indonesia. Hope to see more Indonesian designer recognized worldwide.
To answer the question about turn order, I played a 3 player game in which I was first the entire game (including with the 3 coin bonus), and I did not win. It was very close though, decided by a few points.
100% agree that there should be more cards. This game was marketed towards fans of Wingspan, Terraforming Mars and Ark Nova (tag hunting games). There should be more. Good call, Mr. DiLisio.
Thanks for the review! If this ever hits the market in Germany, they probably have to come up with a new title. Directly translated "Biohack" means "organic ground meat". People would expect something different I guess.
Just as a headsup, I ordered this via prixy from japan to europe. THis game iscurrently only available in japan as retail. US is an idea but could take a long time/not 100% certain. A 2nd printing KS campaign would like the first only be for NA and JPN. There are NO plans for Europe, whether for a KS Campaign nor for retail. The people behind the game make that (passively) clear by their comments on KS and BGG.
The tension between placing workers vs open drafting something also reminds some of Everdell, except with "taking off a worker while it's still powerful" instead of "buying a card before someone else grabs it"

Wow! I really dig Tom's new look with this outfit.
Thanks for the review!

OMG, Elton John likes this game! And Chris and Mike. But it's got the Elton John Seal of Approval!!!!
Played this one a couple weeks ago, very solid!
Tom splurging that sweet sweet kickstarter money on new costumes!
This looks more interesting than your average euro. The worker placement mechanism reminds me of Weather Machine.

Are the time marker placement spots useless in the final round? Shouldn't there be a boon beyond the first 3 rounds?
Nice Two-Face glasses. 🤓
Neat game, I like the look a lot. Chris, nice shirt! 🤘🏽
i like Toms flamboyant pirate get up
i thought he was going for 50s mob boss look.
Tom channeling his inner Elton John?
Nothing gets me more excited than to see Mike excited for a new Uchibacoya game.
Interesting video. By the way, is Jason Levine still with the Dice Tower?
He appeared in yesterday’s “Slay the Spire” review.
Didn't this already air?
We did a We'll Play It Live featuring this game. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of.
glasses are disorienting...
