Great in-depth video. Personally I gave Laguz Friend 4 and Ike's Emblem ring to Summer Fjorm. She doesn't have a huge def/res stat so she isn't getting too much flat damage reduction/bonus damage from Laguz Friend but against ranged enemies she now has 30% DR from Frostbite Mirror, 40% DR from the Emblem Ring, 5 flat DR from her weapon, and some flat DR from Laguz Friend, but more importantly when she's reflecting all this damage reduction back with Frostbite Mirror she is now piercing DR. The special jump part of Laguz Friend is a bit wasted since her special is usually always charged, but does ready Frostbite Mirror again if she ever gets scowled or pulse smoked.
The details and effort in this video are immaculate! Gonna be having this video on repeat since I'm thinking of building up Ike as well. Also, Ashnard, of all characters, being a support for Ike is kind of funny. But with the new Crux skill, I can see that duo being even stronger .
I love how with Summoner's Duels you could run a full Tellius Team: Emblem Ike, N!Altina, Legendary Elincia, Bridal Micaiah and Ashnard and be meta competitive!

It's not a mode I really play, but that was a great visual and super easy to understand. I'm so curious to see the units making use of LF4 and hope I can get some inspiration! I just have one copy of Ike and he made even the Abyssal limited hero battle a piece of cake...I'm worried about what IS will release to "sell the solution."
Something to keep in mind for builds as well is times pulse 4. Simply because that means a full 40% DR on the first hit as times pulse 4 keeps you at 2 cooldown then Laguz Friend does the rest. 30% to 40% doesn't seem to be the biggest difference but it can make or a break a few marchups that may or may not be important depending on the context of the match. Trading your entite C-skill for only 10% DR sounds drastic but it definitely comes in clutch here and there

I’ve been running bonus doubler 4 in his A skill and bd3 in the seal which is working pretty well (although I’m gonna replace the seal with a squad seal) got him to tank a V Lyon rearmed Sonia and the new duo Chloe all in the same enemy phase from a friends ar-D. So that was fun
I'm thinking about duplicating LF4 with Alcryst, then I want to use it with Golden Yule Bow + Miracle Alcryst / Ike ring L!Corrin / Ike ring Midori. But first I need to get a 2nd copy of Ike... I'll probably also use Ike's ring for P!Flora and A!Fir in enemy phase and I think it can be a good quality of life buff in AR O player phase strats since it has no cost anyway ! Nice vid !

I can't wait for emblen Ike bonus season in aether raids, I haven't build a team specifically for him yet so I'm running him with my usual speed support and he's somehow reaching 40 speed I'm studying a way to have him on AR defense, it's gonna be hard as right now I'm using lots of infantry pulse but I have a few ideas that could work
i'm still very new when it comes to character build , since i don't have all the character i wanna asked for the best support between the Gatekeeper and the evil looking dude Ashnard which one is better
Weird question for you about Laguz Friend: Do you think Halloween Xane would be a good user of it, I love Xane and I think it could be a very interesting idea
I did pull Emblem Ike and i might drop the Ring onto L!Seliph since i did get around to giving him No Quarter + Panic Smoke 4 so he can have even more safety against Ranged Foes

Great video. SSS+ for effort, no doubt. I like when you go further than just analyzing the unit/banner at hand, but also sprinkle in concepts that the more casual folk would benefit from. That said, you started the video saying "tanks are back on the menu" and I don't think they ever weren't. I've been using W! Byleth to tank N! Sanaki in AR for months. I tried L!M! Alear and so can he, and I have to assume so can N! Altina. I mention this because I'm scared of where the arms race might go from here. We didn't NEED something stronger, but we got it anyway, so... now what? Where do nukes go from here?
The thing is all of those units are extremely new. This allows older tanks to be more competitive again, which is amazing. The good thing is this only slightly improves Altina, Caeda, Alear, so it shouldn't be ridiculous yet. But I wouldn't be surprised if Is pushed it further
@@Oblivionknight If you mean the Engage effect, I agree, that part is great. That said, it is debatable how much this can help older units when IS is pushing powercreep through PRFs (skills AND weapons), not inheritable skills. Switching my old Lumera from VA to GLR thanks to Marth was great, but that only got her through NY. She can't deal with 2024 nukes, which is why I started using Byleth in AR. My problem with Ike is that I don't think we needed him, as a unit, to push the bar even higher right now, when the tanks we got in the last ~3 months were good enough and the meta was finally in some semblance of balance. What this is gonna cause is an escalation of nukes that will now need to be able to kill Ike, and by extension every unit not printed in 2024, for people to pull for them. The X slot arms race is already out of control and I fear this will be no different.
I have two emblem ike's and i'm debating who to give laguz friend to. this gue reminds me of B!Dimitri´s post refine era, but even worse I wouldn´t say his weaknesses are major, but very light, the only reliable counter I have found is my L!F!Alear with Scowl and a lot of Res support so he basically can´t proc Great Aether question: what is worse for the game unkillable tanks or untankeable Nukes ? personally I think there are more ways to go around Nukers other than just tanking them, while Tanks like Ike pretty much your options are extremely limited Also, would Rinkah work with Lagus freind 4 ?
Emblem Ike is also weak to Scowl effects like Legendary Male Alear. I've found this out yesterday when I use the latter in Emblem Hero battle even in Abyssal difficulty.
@Oblivionknight Yep. His allies were too close to him to make use of the Fire Emblem titles based spectrum debuff to the foe (from New Mystery to Engage) and the added debuff from Spd/Res Bulwark 4 to rack for up to -19 from his prf weapon.
Nice guide, one can see the effort you put in. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think the felix build would not work as intended, because he has slaying, which would make godlike reflexes into 2 cooldown and deactivate laguz friend.
Godlike Reflexes is technically a defensive special, not offense, so it’ll still trigger because there isn’t a cooldown minimum tied to defensive specials

Another weakness is Hardy Bearing, because that slows his special CD and he relies on it a lot, that made the difference between killing him with D!Lyon on abyssal or not. On a side note, you had no right whatsoever to hit my feelings so hard with Midna's Lament out of the blue 😞.
This might be a nitpick, but I don't like that the skill is called Laguz Friend. It has nothing to do with the Laguz, and it honestly feels weird to me giving it to a non Tellius character, not friendly to Laguz.

Emblem Ike Gotoh team sounds devious
With Gotoh or Lumera to protect him from AoE I couldn’t find a defense in my friends list that can kill E!Ike.
I gave LF and c doubler to gotoh and was able to enemy phase abyssal ike

I don't think NQ makes LF4 trigger at all. You need a defensive special or an offensive special that's 3 or more.

Marth's ring is more universal. However, for units that can use Ike's ring well, I'd say his is the more useful one for those units.

Unkillable tanks is definitely worse. Rinkah uses Laguz Friend 4 very well

Brave Robin Support helps on that if it becomes too big of an issue in the future, as he still walls those characters but doesn't kill them
