If there's one thing Alaskan's take very, very seriously it's fishing. Homer Alaska is known for being a lot of things, "The Cosmic Hamlet By The Sea", "Key West In A Parka", and most importantly as the " Halibut Fishing Capital Of The World". We couldn't resist getting the chance to land our own, "big but"
(seriously, that's what they call them), so we hopped on a charter and headed out to sea, for what turned out to be one of our favorite days in Alaska!

Hi Michelle! An Alaskan Cruise sounds like an amazing adventure! The best advice we can give for packing for AK is to think layers, layers, and more layers. Some days you'll wake up shivering and sweating by the afternoon; being able to add and subtract as needed is essential! Also don't forget a raincoat the inside passage can be really rainy at times! We managed to get a few before heading out for the halibut- ocean fishing for salmon was intense, absolutely loved it!
