Cloning Hyper-V VMs was exactly what I was doing today - However I just went into the folder where my VMs virtual disk was stored, duplicated the file, created a new VM and chose to use an existing disk file. Don't forget to change the hostname on the clone and maybe the static IP if one was set.

What happens to hostname and SID?
Is the "create unique ID" radio button in lieu of running sysprep?
Dos it have all the same win updates ? I thought each time an up date is dune it has its own uneque id/encrypt code !?
