- The book of Proverbs, which is included in the Bible, is perhaps the most famous text in the world on wisdom; millions of people for thousands of years have looked to it for help. In the Bible “wisdom” is competence in regards to the complex realities of life. How can we grow in wisdom regarding our friendships?

Proverbs 18:24
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Proverbs 27:9
Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.
Proverbs 26:18-19
Like a maniac shootingflaming arrows of death is one who deceives their neighborand says, “I was only joking!”
Proverbs 27:14
If anyone loudly blesses their neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse.
Proverbs 25:20
Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on a wound, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.
Proverbs 27:5-6

Proverbs 29:5
Those who flatter their neighbours are spreading nets for their feet.
Proverbs 27:9
