      Very neat. My Avolites coworkers will be very happy. And of course, it's useful. But a question, After setting that All Preset as the Highlight preset, my highlight is now always yellow....Which I don't want. I want to be able to still use a white highlight most of the time. Does this macro disable that then?

    • @zakking4857
      @zakking4857 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, I think I found a work around by setting my groups to select and then clear a white Highlight all preset. But it kinda caused a problem with the lowlight preset. hmm

      Alright. I modified it a bit. Used a static group instead of storing one based on programmer, and then didn't store the low light sequence every time. And then added a group select at preset white highlight at the end. Works well. Thank you very much. Great tutorial.

      Omg thank you so much. Not just for this video but for all of them. I’m in the process of starting a AV product review channel and its so much work so just thanks so much for all the time you put into your videos! 3AM! You are a warlord of the AV industry!

    Thinking about making a weekly video on macros, which macros would you like to see?

    • @kecknmj
      @kecknmj 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Christian Jackson you should make a macro that can fix improperly hung fixtures... Like automatic pan/tilt inversion and position updating. You could even have the macro ask the user how the fixture is hung incorrectly sort of like "is this fixture upside down" and if they say no you could ask them "how many degrees off is the pan axis?" And if they say 90 it could go through all of your position presets and add 90 degrees to them.

      Maybe some macro magic on how to get a full circle effect with fixtures pointing straight up/down at 0 degreees. As it is, any circle that crosses 0 degrees folds into a figure 8. Would love to find a workaround.

      The part of the "emergency" macro that shows the image full screen

    • @christianjackson
      @christianjackson  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Jacob Stadtfeld that’s just a physical limitation of fixtures without unlimited pan/tilt. Although it would be a great feature for macros to be able to change the physical laws of the universe :) I’d probably make one that dims the sun or puts the wind at 0 so my haze stays in place at festivals.

      I heard they're including a physics bender effect in MA3 so I guess I can wait. Environmental variable states are apparently planned for a future release but no word on when thats gonna be ready

    You cant use group 420 in that macro! That is specifically reserved for hazers! :P

    @ Christian Jackson, Ya know ive been a avid MA1 user now for over 10 years simply love my desk..... but your making it tempting to switch to MA2...
    I tried once a few years back and MA1 has got me spoiled too much work to switch all my show files over and re-learn but these videos ur making ur desk do some really cool things!

    Awesome !
    Didn't work for me, until I added dimmer at 100% in the lowlight preset.
    But then it's a blast!

    I’ve noticed that you do a lot of programming on your computer. I’m starting to do the same instead of going to the venue everyday. However, since I did not create the particular show file I’m using, I’ve been recreating the layout so that it actually shows up in the 3D visualizer.
    So my question is: when you are programming a new venue, do you create the stage view first before doing the rigging (if needed) or do you set up first then make the stage view on the software match the actual stage? (Please let me know if this even makes sense)
    I ask because my church has contracted someone for training purposes, and he draws it out, sets up the stage, then program on MA2. I’m just trying to get another perspective to at least have a better grasp of this because when he leaves, it will fall back on me to be the “lighting expert” especially when troubleshooting is needed.

    Hey man! Love the content. I would love some input on a question! I use primarily Jands/Vista for this House I run lights for, and we’re looking to upgrade consoles and I’m seriously looking into GMA, however I do 98% busking. But would like to move into more programmed shows. Would GMA be able to get away with busking shows? Thanks man.

      @MrMustikkax 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to use form number as X (for Chase it is 5) and effect number as Y: Assign Form X At Effect Y

    would it be possible to make two All-Presets for High- & Lowlight.
    and then switch between those modes via an Macro.
    If Lowlightmode -> copy the lowlight-preset over to the special-mode-highlight-preset and calling that preset or doing the same for the highlight-preset?

    MA Lighting are right why do you need a lowlight feature if you can simply choose Blue on your colors layout and fire the Dimmer 100 exec of this fixture type, then highlight all you want!! i don't see why you need that macro...

    Chamsys>MA again... So annoying these basic features don't exist in MA, yet it is capable of so much...

    • @christianjackson
      @christianjackson  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We should put together a feature comparison chart and see how that looks

    • @FormatDub
      @FormatDub 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eh, not even dissing MA.. I said it's capable of so much. But if I had 10 minutes to program a desk without a heavily prepared showfile to start, I know what I'd choose that's all..
