The feeling of victory perfection and hope for our children in an instant becomes a helpless and horrible scene.

A lot of this is from KNXT in Los Angeles (employer of Jerry Dunphy), which KPIX probably picked up as another CBS affiliate.

Why is this in B/W? CBS had transitioned to full color programming in 1966.

Their news division had not transitioned fully to color, and neither had local affiliates that covered local events, like the California primary.

I remember seeing that on TV and I also remember when President Kennedy was assassinated to because they broke in on the PA system at school and made the announcement to all the kids in school that day I think I was in the third grade

14:32 witness gets tired of airhead reporter's ignorant questions. Also at 25:40 Karl Uecker is interviewed. He was the Ambassador Hotel's maitre'd. He was the one who abruptly changed RFK's exit route from the stage, leading him into the kitchen where Sirhan was waiting. I've always suspected Uecker because of this.

RFK would not have won the nomination that year. The Democrat convention in Chicago was wired for Hubert Humphrey. Primaries in those days were not nearly as important to the delegate process as old-style, "backroom" politics. Perhaps Kennedy would have run again in '72.

If he hadn't killed that woman with his drunk driving.

@@Great-DocumentariesWow. You clearly failed Logic 101. If RFK was killed in 1968 how the hell could he have driven a car a year later?
