Literally came here to say the same. Love the whole aesthetic. But why is there nothing to stop someone rolling off the bed at night to their death (or serious injury)? Installing some kind of knee or even shin height netting or railing would be a step in the right direction.
Yeah, that was my first thought! I'd be tripping my way to certain death on that little loft path. But otherwise, a great, livable apartment -- cozy and practical and personal.
As someone who loves Never Too Small, I'm happy to see the Philippines showcased, featuring a style of home design that diverges from the typical modern condo aesthetic. It's truly refreshing to witness this alternative approach. Hats off to the architect behind it all!
I really like this apartment. It has everything you need. If I lived there I would have a net railing on the walkway for my safety. But that’s just me. The bathroom is perfect. Those folded T-shirts are awesome!
I am in awe. This is an incredible apartment. They really made the most out of this space and it is such an upgrade compared to the original. Moving the door of the bathroom to create a larger kitchen, adding a loft to make the most of that height, all the storage integrated… and it is so cozy, comfortable and absolutely perfect for a young person/couple! 10/10 would live there!
I love how these feels easy to live in. Decent and easy storage, nothing really needs to be constantly tidied and folded away in order to do something else. It feels really comfortable to function in. There are some things I'd personally struggle with (e.g. the narrowness of the bathroom or the loft areas without barriers), but it's beautifully and thoughtfully designed for this person.
Be still my heart! B612 as the inspiration - absolutely genius. What a space made with rich imagination, romance, soul, and such fun creativity. This is one of the most genuinely heartfelt designs this channel has featured. Bravo.
I love what has been done with less than 30m2. Clever but cosy as well. My only issue is that I would not like to go up and down a ladder and definitely want a barrier along the walkway to bedroom. That bedroom/library space is particularly pleasing.
Agree. A narrow steep staircase with storage underneath shouldn't take up much more room. There are even designs where you can tuck the last steps back into it (like a drawer). Otherwise I really liked it - warm and cozy with the wood. And painting the bottom white makes it lighter.
I love how there's so much personality that it truly feels like a home. The wood made the space feel so warm and "filled" too. Like, not just some bare white walls and and boring furniture for "minimalism", even his counter stools are interesting. This is modern minimalism done right.
So happy to see a home in the Philippines be featured, that doesn't look like the stereotypical condo style! Also, I see your copy of Some People Need Killing! Yesss
Id added a ventilation possibility for under the mattrass to avoid a molded mattrass and wood floor. But the apartment feels so modern yet cosy and curated to me! Beautiful!
It's in the tropics (Philippines). Mold isn't a very big issue. But yes, it would be better if he had a wooden pallet on the floor to support the mattress.
@@Roedism I only encounter molds during the rainy season. Many Filipinos sleep with their mattress directly on the floor (for years) & they don't get health problems due to that. (high blood, diabetes, pollution, etc =yes) I think Filipinos are just more hardy. Lol.
I love everything about it- but I would like a built in oven and hob. I’d also like more robust barriers between the bedroom/ walkway and the inevitable fall to my death in the sitting room below! Stylish though!
@@thefourthfry Not really, you can get used to it in no time - and for me it doesn't even compare to all the time I save on cleaning an induction hob instead of the needlessly big old gas cooktop, but I understand that varies based on kitchen configuration.
Love this space. The idea of painting the plywood white at the bottom is genius, yet the wood colour adds so much warmth and creates a unity throughout. His artwork is the bonus. The amount of storage is great. Great job!!!
Love the warmth, colours and textures of the room. I’d be freaked out by that ladder and walkways with no railings. Perhaps a ship’s ladder, which incorporates handhold slots into the design, might be safer.
Beautiful and more storage than some places that are triple the size! I'd probably buy a convertible sleeper couch, not just for guests, but also because you won't be able to use the loft if you're injured or really sick. You can't climb that ladder with a broken ankle or severe nausea.
i lived in an apt with this square footage in greenwich village for many yrs and am in love with this apt! the aesthetically beautiful and thoughtful storage is so key to being able to have a home that's calm yet filled with personality. not every architect really thinks about how a space will be lived in but it's so clear that from the start of the project, this was designed with every aspect of the client's life in mind and obviously the client has great taste too. i'm so glad these two met and together created a work of art. just lovely.
I’ve been a big fan of NTS & Direk JP as well, I patiently wait for his ep to show as he talks about it on his amazing podcast with Direk Tonet. I love the whole loft specially the fact you can stand straight once you reach the bed. Safety railings is definitely needed as intrusiveness might want me to jump haha. But over all I live the whole space. Thanks Direk for allowing us to see your space & thanks team NTS for another great episode
I love how they used Little Prince as an inspiration. Also loved how Direk JP's personality reflects the overall design of the space. Happy to see more and more featured works from the Philippines, it just makes me feel proud.
Amazing space planning! The use of a lot of wood gave the condo unit a lot of warmth. I love that in such a small space, a sleeping loft was added for separation and privacy. It's ideal for a single young person.
I adore this flat, the worn in sofa, being able to see TV from the loft area, the cozy bedroom nook and having your book collection inside your wardrobe is a great idea
I just found this channel and it’s awesome! I’ve never understood why people require such grandiose spaces when something so small, cosy and well designed can work perfectly, this is all I could possibly want in a home. Imagine not spending free time cleaning just living… ❤
Love the design and the art!! Just one thing, for a 49yr old woman like me, it'd be very difficult to climb that ladder for my age 😁 Maybe a more suitable stairs for older people will be thankful 😃 Still, love the apartment!!

This is such a beautiful flat , I absolutely love the bed loft its really a separate realm from the rest of the apartment . The combination of the wood and white colourway is brilliant and works splendidly. 10/10 would live in this place
Love the bathroom. I just wish a rail was also installed on the walkway going to the bedroom and that the ladder was more slanted for easier access to the bedroom/walkway.

I like the warmth of the natural light plywood. The bedroom looks cozy and spacious at the same time (ceiling height). Personally, I would had a safety rail next to the bed. The curtains in the bedroom give it a more private space. There are several ideas I can use.
This is beautiful. The only thing I’d be worried about, and have always worried about with layouts like these is, God forbid I injure my leg and can’t climb up to bed 😅

I'm not a fan of loft beds because of having to use a ladder to get up there, and it would not work for me.That being said, this was a truly inviting bedroom and remarkably spacious with lots of storage. And being able to stand up in the space was also great. I also really liked the bathroom a lot. This designer/ architect did a great job creating functional separate spaces and storage.
I like how so much was integrated into such a small space. I cannot imagine how the client climbs or descends those steps holding on to something. I would have designed the staircase to the loft as a see-through version across the windows so that the climb up and down would be easier/less dangerous and I would then have placed hanging plants from it. Oh, a railing along the walk should be a given.
Every time I think NTS can’t top itself, lo and behold, it drops a bombshell genius vid!!! This one absolutely takes my breath away.
