Hi Darren, great vid, thanks for taking the time to make and post.. Anyway, that bay you're fishing can be very productive, if you can smash the bait right out. There is a kelp bed about 25 yards beyond the end of that groyne to your left. it isn't a massive bed, and the lads who seem to regularly do well there tend to cast beyond it, needless to say they are big casters. I would estimate you need to be punching your bait between 120/130 yards. that's why I never fish it. However, the next bay to your right is pretty much light going until you get to approx 90 yards out and that kelp is there too. I've fished that bay regularly and have done quite well fishing from the steps in the car park. fishing down to the disabled ramp at the end of the car park is light ground generally. but wind in fast at the end of retrieve to get the sinker over sea defence boulders. After that the bandstand (middle bit that juts out) worth a shout and deeper than most of the bays north of there. Heading south the next bay after bandstand is pretty good, but like bandstand, waves can crash over there a fair way back, they can chuck palm size stones right back too so watch your car!. The next bay where the first set of blue railings are (after bandstand) is ok, then it gets quite rocky in close as you move south, until you get to bay before very last bay where it is generally light ground. the very last bay can also be quite good, but again you need a really big cast, and the sea defence boulders extend quite a way out here so wind in quick at end of retrieve. tight lines Cheers Derek
Cheers Derek! Always great to get local knowledge 👌. I will put this to use the next time I visit. I can't hit the 120 mark with the heavy gear. However I might give it a go with my general set up with a clipped rig. Thanks for the advice I appreciate that. Tight lines.
Another nice video Darren - not the only one to blank as me and my lad sat bite-less on Cambois beach last Friday night. Lovely night all the same. Tight lines and better luck on your next trip
Love these videos Darren , I used to love my fishing until serious illnesses prevented me from doing things like this. Have a great Christmas & all my very best to you & Danielle for 2025
Hi Steven. At least i don't feel alone now 🤣. It's a strange mark. It can fish really well. 1 angoer manage 2 nice Codling on worm. Just a case of another time I guess. Thank you for watching. Appreciate it. Tight lines 👍

Aye, can't win them all. You know it's been a crap session when you're hoping a coalie or a whitie takes your bait.😉
🤣. You're not wrong. Anything would have done . However, it was a cracking night to be out. Thank you for watching.
I fished it on Friday gone, 2 hours up and down of high tide, plenty of bites, but only one rockling, still enjoyed myself though.
One rattle for me. Fresh worm was taking fish, though . There was a fish over 5 lbs caught around 4 bays to my right. Thanks for watching .
No Codling?
Nope. In fact. No fish. That's fishing for you.
