many thanks for the instructions. I installed a Drivesmart 66, a slight bit smaller than yours but can fit the OEM front cover on it if desired. also installed a maintained pushbutton DPDT that turns on the Garmin and raises the screen (and turns off GPS when lowering screen). I also made a bracket for a power socket in passenger footwell to utilize the Garmin power converter and have easy access if need to replace it. it is located on my bracket just behind the footwell lamp
Great instructions using the written pdf document but I got confused at Step 6 - I'm going for the simplest first option but got lost with the power supply DC-DC converter bit and what I am attaching to what (I'm not a techie but willing to have a go!). Any clear instructions of what connects to what in Step 6 (for those of us with limited electronics skills) would be really appreciated. Many thanks!
Hi, if you look a couple of pages after step 6 I put in the wiring diagram for the switch option. If you are doing the simpler (no switch) approach then connect the power supply up like in the lower part of that wiring drawing and ignore the top switch part. The power connector is shown. It’s the 5 pin rti marked “5 way power connector”. “Acc” gets 12v on it when the ignition is on. Either one of the ground pins is your 0v. If you want to use the cigarette lighter power supply that comes with a Garmin then connect “acc” to the centre pin of the cig lighter plug and connect one of the ground lines to one of the outer 2 connections on the cig lighter plug. You can then power on the garmin and you should see it charging when your ignition is switched on. Good luck.

Hi, I have DBS 2010 and I'm missing the navigation module. Someone stole it...long story! Its 9G43 5 socket type which is available nowhere :-( May be I can use 4G43 module and Garmin Module together? Can you help me please?
Hi, the mod that I’ve described here doesn’t us the navigation module at all, it just uses an off the shelf Garmin sat nav fitted into the swivelling mechanism on the dash and then with a couple of options for how to raise/lower it, so you should be good to try it, good luck
