I have one question for the solo player wharf exception rule. Where it says you can still complete a building as long as all the boxes are not checked off by Ruth. But, I know you can’t claim a box that’s been checked off by Ruth. So, how do you claim the remaining crossed off boxes in a solo player game given this exception?
You're not actually claiming the checked boxes. The exception is just saying that if you manage to check off the last remaining box you get to claim that building. The only one I can think of off the top of my head that pertains to (from the base game) is the Fisherman's Pub that has 4 boxes. So let's say you checked off one box on a previous turn. On Ruth's turn she crosses off two more. That leaves one box left. On your turn you choose the wharf die and cross off that last box. The exception says that building is now completed by you and you get the 10 VP.
The barge counts as a boat? For any purpose? - Does the Barge gains fish normaly on a Fishing phase? - Does it Trigger the Cod license? (Same with the Inuit, are they "Boats"). If the answer is "no", I suggest removing the "B" from Barge and Inuit, to avoid confusion
Sorry for the late replay. Yes, the Barge and Inuit boats will trigger the cod license. The circle with the B means it counts as a boat. However, as the rules blurb under the barge shows, it will only gain fish for full fishing boats. It's basically an overflow for fish since a full fishing boat won't catch any more fish. So if you have the barge and two of your fishing boats are full during a fishing phase, you will get two fish in your barge.
Perhaps it's just me but the rules explanation is just so fast that I can't absorb the information. Thanks though, I kind of get and probably just need to get the game out and learn as I play.
This is the best How To Play for this game. Thanks for making this, and great work!
Thank you so much!
