Just watched the show and it was quite disappointing for me personally. SPOILER. I felt like the action was lacking and could’ve been a lot better for what it was. I’m also sad that the emotion factor wasn’t quite in there. Usually in movies if there’s not enough emotion there’s at least great action but I personally thought this series had neither. Examples : I would’ve really liked to see 5-8 and sal wool bonded. Like when 5-8 asked sal wool “do you know my name?” And continue to mention that deliverymen didn’t have names they just go by numbers like “5-8, 4,1” and that’s why he was labeled 034. It would’ve been great if throughout the series sal wool asked 5-8 for his name or calling him like “hyung” and 5-8 getting annoyed by these things but slowly reciprocates the friendship and tells sal wool his name, story, where he came from, how he became a deliveryman, and things like that. Then maybe afterwards they show scenes of 5-8 and sal wool calling each other by their names instead of just going by numbers while smiling at each other implying that they truly bonded with one another comparing to when they first met. seol ah’s acting and character didn’t make sense to me at all. when she lost her sister she didn’t even cry or look sad. or when 5-8 took/saved sal wool she didn’t even look worried. when she found out sal wool was alive and saw him again she also didn’t look that happy😂😂 throughout the series when sal wool was training to be a deliveryman or putting himself in danger seol ah again didn’t seem that concerned for his safety. Idk, I just felt like for someone who raised and took him in her acting could’ve been a lot better. if the plot portrayed them as some type of a broken/abusive family then the non emotion showing would make sense and I would completely understand but in this case the story portrayed them as a loving family who didn’t have any resentment towards one another so therefore acting should’ve been a lot better. From beginning to end everyone pretty much was just zombies who were only focused on fighting and making the world a better place. Don’t get me wrong, I get it. The world has gone to shit so fighting is necessary. But if you were to look at other shows and movies with a similar plot where people lived in a apocalyptic world, the characters would still show they’re willing to die for family and friends but black knight however didn’t give me that feeling that I had wished and was expecting going into it.
You should also take in consideration the conditions they were living in, the sister unfortunately didn't have time to grieve she was trying to find out who killed her sister, who and why people were being kidnapped and dealing with a corrupt CEO. I also didn't believe it was important that they didn't use their names because it tied into what the CEO thought about the refugees and the treatment of the refugees gave the show a since of reality. 5-8 definitely cared about him that's why he was determined to rescue him. This was not a emotional drama this was survival series.
Korean films and television still have much to learn about what makes a good script. I barely made it through an episode. It may look good but it's not.

A dynamic and hard to follow drama. I will have to replay it to understand the plot clearly.
