Hi, I love the explanation of designing a quality poster; here is the text version Solid Concept What message does the banner communicate? How are you going to say it? The message needs to be relevant in society in general at a specific time Using humor (Don’t stop me from having a Helvetia good time!) Shock value (Bunny with a sharp object) Keep in mind, target audience (who is the viewer) Direction and help establish the concept Have a Theme Keep a running style throughout the entire design (branding) Invoke a feeling Typography, images and color choices Visual harmony Allows for the audience to engage with your design Think Distance Reading from a distance Headline (attention grab - What) Most impotent keyword Bold Details When, Where, How and Why Around half the size of the headline Fine print Read by people who get into the design Obtain information in a concise manner Love Space
Awesome! Definitely useful. Knowing the target audience and having a concept before designing is absolutely important before designing. Great tips especially using contrast to get the attention and adding bold text.
Love how you just go straight to the point with your tips without all that airy-fairy bits of intro. It really gets the audiences going. Gonna be using these tips for my current brief - well, the first six tips, actually as I feel like keeping it simple for this particular brief won't ring true with its brand. That said, thank you so much for all your efforts in creating this useful and educational content. Don't ever stop! ^_^
although it was all stuff i sort of knew intuitively, this video helped me through a 5am panic about my approaching A level graphics deadline so thanks a lot
Sir I seriously inspired alot from you.. I'm also a graphic designer.. I just completed my course.. I want to like you sir.. I watch all of ur videos.. sir please help me to be like you... As from where I studied graphic design they didn't cleared any concept and took 8 lakh Indian rs for two year.. I gained lot of knowledge from your videos.. keep posting.. and keep the good work up.. my dream is to work under you some time but I know it's not possible.. but sir if you can get in touch I feel blessed.. God bless you sir.. Praise the lord.. 😘
That is awesome for me to read, and I will keep posting don't worry, just make sure to tune in and maybe share my content sometimes, that is all I ever ask :)
I like your advises when it comes to creating a sophisticated graphic using your advises and I am having trouble sometimes when I need to create a specific poster for the lecturer. I love to create challenging or simple design to make my creation look attractive.
Hi, I love the way you explain the content in this video and currently I am working on my typography skills and I hope your advice will work for me. Thank s!
thanks for these tips--I teach school and there are so many poster contests for the students that it can be overwhelming to execute with out a plan. Will share these tips with the kids and look forward to better work! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing these tips. Even though I watched it in 2021. XD It's still helpfull. I really love the posters showed on 3:11 & 4:29, I wish you or someone could make a tutorial on how to make such a poster. I don't think it's amazingly difficult, but I can't really see myself the steps I should take to create something like that. A side question. I often have the problem when I look on Pinterest (for example) I see multiple amazing kinds of inspiration and tricks I would like to use for myself, but never know how to create it. So I try to look on youtube for a tutorial, but (here comes the problem) never know how a style or trick is called. So I never know which words to search for..... Do you have some tips on looking up for certain styles on internet? Thanks!!
Hey. I suggest that you save the image and then head into a graphic design forum. Maybe a subReddit or Facebook group, and ask if they know what the style is. You will get tons of replies 👍
Hi, Tom. You are awesome bro! Can you give us a guideline like what are the steps, what is the first thing you do on a Business and Personal Development poster after deciding the concept and theme? What we do do first? The name? The date? The speaker photo? Etc??? Thanks in advance 🙏🙏🙏
We used this video in our 8th Grade Entrepreneurship and Marketing class, so thanks! What are your favorite graphic design programs? We're using Canva, Google Drawings, Keynote, Free Logo Designer, etc.
I wondering how many things you would be change in that project after 4 years now ? Is This rules is still actual or maybe trends push out some of them ?
Hi.I have a question on poster designing.Say, you're given a limit of 3 colours and you decide to use blue, yellow and black. Can you use different shades of those colours e.gdark blue, sky blue, yellow ochre and so on...
Remember this video is not on how to design a poster in terms of setting one up in Adobe software, and it is not a tutorial walk through on designing a specific poster, more tips on how to do it! Have a great weekend everyone, and hope you both enjoy and find this video useful :)
I really want to know how to design I post, I am very inspired by many poster designers but I could just have ideas on how to go up with it, please if you can carry a passion, may you give me some lessons
lol did you just use an image from David Carson to explain bad spacing? He changed typography for all of the late 80s and 90s. love it or hate it but its a bad example cuz its out of context
Really great tutorial, pretty helpful..... but I gotta say, you need to look up some fashion inspo or something more up to date. The tight unbuttoned hollister polo with a popped collar and snapback aren't doing it, 2011 wants its style back.
i’m 14 and doing poster designs to promote products for a small company making about $200 per poster and i was wondering when promoting products and showing pictures should it be the biggest eye catching part of it? (the product)
thank you for this yseful tips. I'm biggener and I want to ask you about the freelance poster design _when I finish a poster I should send it to the client digitaly or print it for him?
It depends. You first need to ask the client if they are in contact with a printing company or agency, as well as ask them if they want you to print it or if they will print it. And you should also test print your design first also :)
Hy. I want to ask your help. I am thinking of starting a small business in Europe to sell prints and I am looking for something that : 1 can print prints up to 40 inches long 2 can easy print on 300gsm paper 3 isn’t so expensive to maintain 4 Print quality is good I muss say that my budget is up to 1500 Euro I have a lot of ideas to run the business I just need to find the printer that can do all the things above.. I will very much appreciate your answer

Normally, do you use some technique in composing everything on the poster to make it looks good? like grid tool, or golden ratio?
I saw you used a poster from LSAD i plan on going there soon enough!
