Its the Spider S for me all the way !!!!!! The feel , touch and results for me were wonderful. I tried a large number of putters including the Truss . I have now played about a dozen rounds with it and its obvious I made the right call. Very nice review on putters . Lots of great choices available for all. Well done Joel. Thank you.
just bought the Special Select 1.5 fastback, WOW this is such a great feeling putter, the ball rolls of the face so well and the balance is absolutely perfect.
It all depends on how long you will have it for and if your a person who chops and changes then spending that is silly. But I am looking to invest in a putter for 20 years and something that is fitted for me. If I would spend that on a driver I definitely would spend it on a putter which last longer. I am also not a person who chops and changes clubs. Generally I will keep them for 7 to 10 years with the putter hopefully for 20.
A good putter is very important to a golfer, and it's a fact that we can't deny. I have a friend in my group using a futura Mickey mouse, which I believe wasn't good for him, but he insisted on using it, probably because he had invested in it, it's not cheap, ...for two years. My God! He lost money most of the weeks, for two years, that was about ten times his futura putter. Finally in middle of the last year switched in a Cleveland putter by my advice, quite cheap, but very good feel. You won't believe it, with that Cleveland putter, he ups his game to a new level, saving on average 5 strokes per 18 holes! I personally use Cleveland, axis 1, and a scotty, looking for a nice evnroll.
The two putters that he eliminates on physical appearance alone, The TaylorMade Truss and the Odyssey stroke lab triple track, are two of the best putters based on all the performance categories.
When my wife makes decisions on a car she wants... she basically picks based on the colour and a feeling about the brand. This seems about exactly what happened in this video.
They’re having a laugh with the price of that axis rose putter. My Newport spécial select just arrived today can’t wait to put it in play. Fell out of love with my bettinardi armlock
As far as your "dead off the face" comment regarding the Evnroll Er 10 Outback if you look into and research the technology incorporated into this putter you will be better informed as to why this is the case. The middle of the face or the sweetspot is designed to roll slower than off center strikes. This technology greatly reduces the dispersion between off center and center strikes thus creating much more consistency distance wise overall. While Scotty Cameron putters are still and remain very desirable we shouldn't allow that to impact our ability to give new technology a chance especially if there are gains in consistency to be achieved. By the way I own the 2020 Scotty Cameron Special Select Fastback 1.5 the 2020 Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2 and the Evnroll Er 10 Outback so my opinion is completely unbiased just trying to help those in the market for a new putter with some helpful insight.
Love my Evnroll 1.2. As a mill putter, it's not as soft as an odyssey for example, but man I can't miss with it, even if I don't feel I hit it right, it still ends up close to my target. I did try my Dad's Odyssey o works putter and man did I love the feel of that, so soft off the face. At the end of the day, As others have said, putters are all subjective. Go to the store and find one that best suits your style.
I currently game the Scotty Fastback tested here, love it. I knew it was “the one” first time I picked it up. Then I made the mistake this week up pick up the Axis 1 Rose. And as soon as I picked it up I knew I was about to become $500 lighter.
This is probably the most subjective area in golf. Something you can’t really buy online in my opinion. It’s about how it looks and feels, weight, alignment aid etc. I’ve probably had ten putters in 2 years, and now settled for about 4 months (before lockdown) on the Ping Sigma 2 Valor. Such a soft feel off the face so I know exactly where I’ve hit it. Great review 👍

I agree 100% ... many golfers tend to get a driver fitting and never give a thought to a putter fitting and how important a correctly fitted putter is .. they need to keep track of their putts per round and they may finally realize the importance of being a good putter
