This is super creative, thanks for sharing👍🏻👌🏻😊 (and I hear a lot of expensive textural libraries that I bought in that video - now I know how they were made 🤭😊)
I wish I had seen this years ago! I only scratch at the surface of what Cubase can do and so never knew of all the MIDI inserts (not to mention probably 50%+ of the not basic functionality). This MIDI arpeggio stuff is a great help to me, like you wouldn't believe! Thank you , thank you, thank you!
I've been using Cubase since Cubase SX, now on 10Pro. I've used the arpeggiator before. But what you just did playing 4 instruments sumultaniously in different arpeggiated rythems...well let's just say you blew my mind 🤤
I came here looking for how to use arpeggios in Cubase and I certainly got it! Fantastic video and I really loved the little sequence you put together at the end.
Ok we thought let's check if Cubase has Midi FX, and so we found this Video,.... and Guys You have this Mighty Arp, with features we had never dreamed about, .... Awesome!
Greg thank you very much, I have been looking everywhere for help with my arpeggios, brilliant, I can now make them sound interesting, your instructions are easy to follow. Many thanks
Greg, once again stunning tutorial! The use of rhythmic intervals...amazing. I'm a drummer so i now see how to trigger orchestral arpeggios live from my midi pad! Thank you.
Thanks for this, as a none keyboard player this will enable more creation. I especially like the use of different tempo towards the end, sounds really effective.
I am trying to find solution for 'HOLD' key when you use arpeggio plugins to play and can change chord to another one with the hold key, like in Cubase Retrologe or Flux Hold but on track with arp plugin, any idea how to do it for live performance?
Thank you so much , iv'e been searching for such a tool for a while now , and i am kinda new to cubase 10 (jumped straight from 5 hhehe ) , i even though of using a 3rd party arppegiator , thank you so much!
Greg, you always amaze me. Here again, you are the best. If I may, for this particular tuto type, I would suggest that you precise what you do with your controller. I will review this video anyways until I get it all but a demystification of your taping on your controller will be a point of close observation. Keep up the excellent work.
Everything was input just using block chords. I started with the virtual keyboard to show that but it does not transmit different velocities. You can some times see the held chords in the key editor on the left hand side keyboard in the lower zone.
@@gregondo376 My bad... I was too much triggered on the Arpeggiator, I forgot to check the On-Screen Keyboard. You are too absorbing !!! LOL ! You can delete this post, useless for other fans of you.
I have a problem with the Arpache5. The sequence repeats the first and last notes of the chord. How do you adjust it to play the first and last notes only once?
Good video, thanks for posting. I wish there was a MIDI plug-in arpeggiator that worked exactly like the Flux arpeggiator. I also wish the transpose could diatonic based on a specified scale or otherwise locked to the chord/scale based on the chord track.
at 6:27 in the video you drag a sequence into the arp. but when I try that is my cubase 11, as soon as I start to drag the arp sx window hides its self and I can't drag it in . how can I set this so it works correctly?
Each instrument section in the orchestral part was on different MIDI channels. I think the brass might be trumpets and trombones layered on the same MIDI channel.
Hey Greg Great Video Thanks, been Using Trip in Halion Sonic SE 3 and it has an arpeggiator all the other arpeggiators that come with Cubase Pro 10 and above the Midi can be recorded and dragged into the project drag and drop but Trip does not have those buttons is there a way to extract the arpeggiated pattern from Trip in Halion to be used with other MIDI.
The issue I am having is that how do your record arpeggios from preexisting midi data. Example: I have a chord progression in 8 clips on my piano VST track, each of the 8 clips is a individual chord, how do I create an arpeggio from the preexisting chord midi data using Arpache? This video works with you are playing the chords live but not if the chord data already exist. Coming from Studio One and Reason this task should be simple.
Hi Greg: Very useful -- especially (new to me) the Record function in Arpach!. I wish I could do this kind of MIDI Record/Print from other PHRASE-producing VI's such as Session Horns Pro and others. I have tried using your and others' tips. No way can I get this to work with anything but pure Arpeggiators like Kirmu Cream, and now Arpache (which as an Insert, could always do this anyway. I want to use the PHRASE-producing Midi Out from Sessions Horns Pro (and others) to control other Horns VI's via the resulting MIDI. You made a video (which got my hopes up) showing how the MIDI (and Audio) from a VST could be Recorded/Printed for this purpose -- but it only demonstrated this with GROOVE AGENT. I cannot get this to work with other VI's. In detail, can this be done and how? I'm virtually asking: Can't we have VST's driving other VST's with their unique PHRASES MIDI output? Thanks for any feedback.
It really is up to the plug-in to be designed to output the MIDI data to be recorded from their internal arpeggiators or phrase/pattern generators. You should try to reach out to those companies for them to implement the feature like Groove Agent
@@gregondo376 Thx for reply. Kontakt details a way by tick-boxing some Player Scripting Outputs but it only produces garbage in the case of Session Horns.... very little like the actual Phrases. But I get you.
still confused. In the case i play the chords via chord track assigned to an instrument track, the Arpeggio on the instrument track works but if i push the little record button on the arpeggio the playing of the arpegios stops and instead the naked chords are being recorded. Wiered.
Are you KIDDING? It actually is ARPache and not apache! I also always thought it was called "Apache" until you wrote this comment and I checked out the spelling for the first time. I don't know how many years it has been now that I thought it was called "Apache!" 15? 😁
Hello thanks for the video bro can you please relay a message to Steinberg and tell them to get ahold of waves audio and tell him what the hell is going on with Cubase 10 crashing with their Studio rack plug-in it's been almost a year every since Cubase 10 has been release that waves Studio rack for the DSP interfaces are worthless until that gets fixed it's been almost one year please can you relay that to Steinberg and tell them to get ahold of waves to try to help out and see what's going on cuz waves all they do is have an attitude when you call him now thanks
If anyone is interested in using a GOOD AND SIMPLE arpeggiator in Cubase: Route Vengeance Avenger to your VSTi's of choice, and use its Arp instead of this.
Oh man, 8 years using Cubase, never new about the record feature for arps. Thank you Greg!!!
With Greg Ondo's work, there's really nothing to "Undo".
Very useful tips. Thank you.
Greg is the Cubase king!

I am with Cubase since 2005 and I know it pretty good, but it is still always source of something new and useful. Thank you!

I never saw that record feature before! That's sick! Gotta check it out. Thanks Greg!
Another awesome cubase tutorial by the nr 1 Cubase Ninja Gregg Ondo

I've been using Cubase since the Atari days and I'm just starting to get my head round things. Thanks Greg
You can always count on great info from Greg, there's something new and unexpected for me every time. 👍👍
Wow! That's super, super helpful! And very, very cool! Thank you!
Greg every time I learn new things ! Great job .

Great video. really useful. Thanks.
So informative and we'll explained, thank you 🙏
Guau!!!! Thanks a lot for being such a great trainer, I am not musician and always wanted to do that. Take care Greg
This video is very important for beginners like me. Thanks a lot Greg !

That was a hidden gem :)
Never actually seen and used that cubase plugin.

So great to see actual orchestral examples. Thank you
Excellent video thanks
very very very usefull Greg!
Thank you very much.
Amazing!
Greg could we please get a chord trigger so that we can trigger whole chords in arpache?
Great creation tool. Thank you Greg.
Is there a arpeggiator hold/latch function?
is there a 'latch' mode possible?
Are there any videos about polyrhythms and polymeters in CUBASE?
Awesome!
9:08 Is it possible that the source chords be input from another MIDI track instead of playing live from the keyboard?
I have used the arp's many times, however Greg always manages to add some extra's...
@Ignacio Cullen No, no one cares.
Brilliant - thanks Greg!
It's also possible to stack arpegiators, just use looong notes for the 1st one
Great Man! Thank You!!👍👍🙂
Yeyyyy i have bedn looking for an arp, what do you know, i had it in my Cubase all along. Thanks!!!!
I like it
Awesome , Thanks
Excellent as always Greg... looking forward to hearing a lot more from you with the impending Cubase update. Arriving before Christmas I assume?

Is there anyway to make that arpeggios follow my custom quantise (groove).?
Brilliant!

Wondrous mechanisms. Hello Oslo you Tiggerstaden you.
Why it works fine with 4 notes but if i use a 5 notes chord it miss the third when it goes down?
Great stuff!
thank u very much

You have to make plugin 'Always on top' option
I like the orchestral setup at the end... since they were all playing at the same time, did you assign each MIDI track to a different MIDI channel?
Each instrument section in the orchestral part was on different MIDI channels. I think the brass might be trumpets and trombones layered on the same MIDI channel.

wow!
Is there a way to decide rythm of the arpeggio? If say you want to mix 8notes with 16notes?
Yes
I hear the sound only but do not see the notes written. Can anyone help me, plz?
Does 10.5 work same way? I am facing prob. I do not find the arpeggio notes😭😭😭😭
more please
I am a cubase element 10 user..how can i edit arp in halion sonic trip instrument?
this video is for cubase pro only, what a surprise

tnx man =]

I did not subscribed but i liked the video

Can you modify at least the user interface, make it bigger.
👍👍👍
그냥 로직처럼 플러그인 으로 하나 만들어주십시요!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please don’t make the Oboe’s tongue 16th note arpeggios , Slow to talk to us a little bit easier :-) it reminds me of Prokofiev Symphony No. 1
Amazing. Thanks
