It's enjoyable to see you put your personal preferences and style onto the new bike . I had those clever Oxford heated grips on a previous bike of mine and found them great as you have 4 levels of heat . The fork socks seem a very sensible idea to me .
Nice inspection and pre maintenance. It's nice to get to know your bike technically before enbarking on a trip. Very good! And He probably should use a torque wrench for the tightening part tho.
Great video Pavlin, I always really enjoy your workshop/maintenance videos.. still can't decide whether or not to fit socks to my forks, as you say there are some reasonable arguments for and against.. I suppose eventually I'll decide ! - Always a fan of Plamen's excellent hammer work !!..
The Oxford heated grips look like good quality .. I purchased the Genuine Yamaha ones made in China.. the control button is on the left grip ..I don't have to mount a control box.. High Med Low.. I am thinking of filling my bars with urithane foam so the heat does not get lost so easily .. Yamaha sells for around $110.00 USA dollars. I just got my first heated vest too 12 volts so I am in good shape now ..
Very interesting to see head bearing. My 660 was equally as dry and the rear suspension the same. Why does no-one put grease nipples here any more? I am currently adapting a cb500x for travel. The good lady enjoyed sitting on the back of one we hired in Greece this year that I was persuaded to buy one... it's not a Tenere but it was an excellent travel bike and will manage gentle tracks with the protection I now have underneath. Oxford heated grips are next on the list... Your mechanic is very professional, and I think the refreshments are a top idea. Happy travels 👍
Funny you should mention the direction of the heated grips. After a month riding through Germany, my Tenere stalled in the middle of traffic for reasons unknown to me. Pretty scary. After inspection, the mechanics said that the clutch plates couldn't separate enough because the heated grip was in the way of the clutch handle. Still don't really understand why the bike stalled, but after that fix no problems.
Hey Pavlin, please ask your friend Bato (sorry if I spelled incorretley) if greasing the rear links of the suspension on the tenere 700 is necessary. I’ve been seen a couple of videos and I think is not, but he’s the professional. Thanks
@@motorcycleadventures my t7 its only 500km old. And I watched a video where the bushes were grease out of the dealer. How where yours? Did you grease them right away. Thanks for your answer and awesome videos!
Hello pavlin Waiting for Part 23 please ! Also you wrote in the title part 21 for part 22 by mistake I guess Keep up the good work ! Amazing as usual and enjoy your new T7 😍👌
From your old bike you suggested to buy the ABUS Granit Victoria with holder. So I bought it, but couldn't get the Lock on the brake disc. I was ready to send it back, but I now saw you have it on the Tenere 700 (I have the same). Can you tell me how to mount it onto the disc ? Thank you.
@@motorcycleadventures thx so much - great help, I just had to remove the "reminder" cable. I am following your Tenere feeds closely. My bike has 300 Kilometers, just getting started :)
Nice informative video. The heated grips are a must. Add a heated vest and life is good. What was once a test of endurance becomes a comfortable ride. Do you have any experience with a heated seat? I have been debating trying one.
Would like to hear how you like the Oxford heated grips? I have them on my bike and they are fine except the Left one gets a lot hotter than the throttle side. This makes it a little harder to find the right setting.
I think it's due to insulation I think the cold bars absorb the heat usually so the left side if colder than the throttle as the throttle side has a plastic tube between the cold bars it's tricky to fix sadly.
Perfect adaptation, very good work for travels in all places..
Glad you think so!
the connector for connecting the heated handles is under the side plastic.
Oxford grips are connecting directly to the battery.
@@motorcycleadventures Why do it complicated when it's easy. The cables do not have to be pulled under the tank and the connector is switched with a key.
I have plenty to do! Which includes learning about this bike because it feels like I'm likely to get one. Cheers!
I have 192,000 km on my Honda Deauville and I used hairspray to glue the heated grips on. Works brilliantly. - try it!
Thanks for sharing!
Nice workshop. The machine is on the way to perfection.

CB500X is a great choice, just too low for me. Good luck with your future adventures!
Nice! It will be perfect if you add some Xpel protection to the windshield, just a few grams of weight but it will look awesome over the years.
That's the plan!
Always nice and instructive! Regards from Poland !

I said it in the video.
I only did the bolts on the swing arm and they were absolutely dry! I think I might do the same on the fork bearings.
Thanks man!
It is what it is!
Tnx a lot Sir, for all the educational/inspirational videos!!
Most welcome!
It will be important for me if you tell what kind of smoked meat that you were eating 😉 heated grips are just a game changer, great mod!
I did not remember the brand.
Instead of fork protectors, i clean fork pipes every time i clean my visor, with the same wet towel, visor first then forks.
Well... it is your choice what to do when you stop.

Thought your bike picked up a small nick from the breaker bar and in the next frame your tank had the Yamaha protector cover on

My new suzuki drz was the same , there was so little grease the mechanic could lick the bearing ! don't understand it

it was really fun

Hi Pavlin, a short question; Why didn't you buy heated grips from stock but rather bougth Oxford !?
Because they are much better than stock.
Thank you.
On my old Tenere the disc was changed. No problem with the stock disc on T7

Hallo Pavlin, are the swing arm bearings also without grease? Did you also remove the swing arm?
Great Video!
Did not checked yet.
Love the KTM wall in a garage looking to do mods on a Yamaha Tenere. I wonder which adventure bike the mechanic will recommend.
He has Tenere 700, so...

Dein Moped wird immer besser, ich dachte du bist momentan in Türkei in Antalya :-) Боярка ist sehr gut
I was there in July.
Pavlin. The 6P's Proper Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.
Agree!
All new Yamahas' I have bought have been the same, hardly any bearing grease. Perhaps they think it has Moon dust in it.
True!
Hi Pavlin, thanks for the video ! Great one again :) I just wanted to ask you what is your tube / tire repair kit package for your trips ?
Still haven't but work on it.
Would it be best to get the bike as parts, omit inferior parts and assemble it by yourself with care and love, with top parts only
No!
Good video thanks mate 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for another great video! Excellent choice of aftermarket parts! 👍 do you think that the screen protector is absolut necessary?
Not necessary, but cost nothing and will prevent from scratching.
@@motorcycleadventures ok, so then it is more a nice to have and not a must have 😊
Thanks a lot! Be safe!
Yes! If you have mud on the dash and try to clean it without water you will scratch it.
Fork Socks? Why not a Rubber boot like all Motorcoss bikes have ?
This is already tested.
Don't mix up the screws and salami. Screws doesn't taste so good and salami doesn't hold stuff that good :D. What a friendly place you have there.
Absolutely!
I have a question about the exhaust. Since it is vulnerable , will you opt for the high camel adv exhaust kit?
No!
Why was it so dry? Do you think someone failed to do it at the factory or is that a dealer preparation item?
The dealer has nothing to do with this.
What grease SKF did you use?
Lithium.
SKF LGWA 2
04:42 OMG.. That is absolutely disappointing
Most of the bikes will be the same.
I'm not sure why anyone uses Oxford heated grips with the controller from the 1980s. Koso are my choice for quality heated grips.
I never make experiments with things I don't know.
I hope you pay him enough for all that work being done on your bike, I'm guessing your bike is out of warranty already ?! Humm..
I will take the risk!

Yamaha shit the bed with the lack of grease. At this level it is not acceptable...
That is appalling. Yamaha obviously can’t afford grease! Very disappointing to see that. 🤨
It is almost the same with any brand.
