It’s nice to know that you also get tired of certain plants and have no qualms about replacing them.

Have you ever been to Rojas Succulent Cactus Nursery in Fallbrook? He has an amazing private succulent greenhouse that he will take you into to see.

Laura, I've read in more than one place that mangaves are not necessarily monocarpic. Just because yours is going to bloom doesn't necessarily mean the mother plant will die. That's been a confusing point with me but I do have a couple that bloomed but still seem to be thriving.

Still waiting for the weather to clear in the Bay area. I'm so ready to get out and do things in the garden. Thanks for sharing your sun and garden.

I'd definitely decide it was time to inspect your aeoniums crest's roots situation if she were mine.
You're at the end of your winter and she's still really struggling.
Still enough time to re-root with just starting spring.
Sorry to see all the hail damage, but glad there wasn't anything worse.
Hope all your beautiful cacti did definitely come out unscathed and no rot to any!
Bentleigh is so funny with 'his' fountain, bless him ❤
Enjoy your detritus extraction and garden fluffing Laura xx

Diamond tipped drill bit will give you clean drainage holes in your collectables and they’re really easy to drill! I’d would offer to help but I’m to far away, would definitely save your shell and tea cup planters. I just made some teacup planters for some indoor plants but hoping to use them for collectable cactus outside when I can find some plants.

I’m sad with you Laura for the hail damage to some of your plants. We take care to keep the plants looking their best w/o scars, then comes the hail! This too shall pass.
I rejoice with you in that your garden over all was not impacted severely by the deluge of rain, wind and hail ….. it remains beautiful.🌺

🍋🍋🍋 these baby lemons are SO cute! Our neighbors lemon has been producing non stop since December. I’ve juiced and frozen more lemon slices and juice cubes than I can count! Hoping your grapefruit makes its grand recovery as well.

    Your gardens always look beautiful!!
In Poway I had a little hail damage and just 1 little euphorbia lost. Not bad at all.
Last night got below 32°. I will know how everything did in a week or so!

oy vey! the weather! so sad you got hit so hard with the hail... we've had way too much rain, lol.. i just wish mother nature could spread it out a bit throughout the year, but such is life in the land of milk and honey... everything is looking good.... i'm itching to get out there and get busy too... soon, i hope... have a great week!! 🥰🥰

So heartening to hear your take on hail damage. It’s hard to see it but as you say, new leaves should be better. I’ve been slowly planting out my front yard area over the past couple of weeks in between storms. My husband is helping me but he doesn’t know the Laura Eubanks effect that I’m going for 😂

Thanks for Walkabout Wednesday - it’s soothing to stroll through the garden with the wind chimes in the background. Good news there weren’t any casualties; bad news about the hail damage. It hailed here in Phoenix Arizona and there was mild damage but thankfully no casualties either. Love the seahorse and is that a blowfish 🐡?!? Also admiring your budding artist grandson’s shell decoration - well done!

Glad to see your garden is doing well even despite the hail. The damage to the leaves is upsetting 😢. We have had unrelenting cold temps lows and rain here also. My Draco is really looking tattered - leaves are spotted and turning brown at tips. I’m pretty sure my white spine barrel is a goner - getting spongy. Several of my mangaves look tattered/torn leaves. Some of my aloes have rot spots in the lower leaves. Several khalanchoes got destroyed from cold damage. Lots of spots on my unhappy agaves. Ugh 😩. Once the weather can stabilize above 55 degrees for a low (no dew on the plants in the morning) I will pull everything up/trim, clean it all up. Just so upsetting but what can we do?

"Cookie" plant - crassula arborescens - which is very common there seams to be rare in Australia. Can't find it anywhere, only blue birds which are so different! The only place I see them is in botanical gardens way far behind the fence so I can't pick dropped leaves to propagate my own...

I think that's an Astrophytum the one you asked about. But it has a lot of pups. Could even be a Euphorbia or something. Hopefully it doesn't have witches broom disease cause that could ruin your whole garden. But hopefully not, the pups usually come out hairy and deformed and a lot of them.

Oh no, so disheartening when your plants get so damaged by hail. And it’s so helpful to see your garden dishevelled, because that’s what happens in real life isn’t it? A garden is never finished is it? No doubt an afternoon and your garden will be back to stunning again.

I’m not 100%, but I think the succulent in your pot rock may be euphorbia pseudoglobosa marloth. Whatever it is, it sure is a cutie. I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a Ming Thing in the past couple of months - no joy yet though. What is the collectable cacti in the yellow pot on the little table? LOVE it!
