A lot of people don't know about it, but you can get a bolt pouch by talking to the crossbow seller in Keldagrim. It's similar to the rune pouch and takes up a slot in your inventory, so it's not as useful for most scenarios where you could just have the second set of bolts there, but in situations like this where you're working with 3 sets of bolt types, that's just an extra inventory space. The only downside would be having to go to your equipment screen to swap your bolts out, but if you get used to it, it's worth it for the extra inventory slot.
I don't get it. You can only choose between 2 types of bolts in the equipment screen, so you would need to open up the pouch or keep one of the bolts in your inventory anyway, no? What am I doing wrong?
great guide. just have this quest and theatrefor qpc and my friend told me this is a pain in the ass but if the quest version is a bit easier i should be able to smack him with 99 range and mage. great job with all the explanations and tips.
Wish I found this guide first! I am about 30 kc now so already have a feel for the mechanics but definitely will be using a few tips/tricks you showcased! The shadow phase safespot and smite sync on shield phase should help massively 😊
Great guide! One question, not really related to the guide, but how do you get the transparent boss HP bar? Is there a Runlite setting for that? I'm getting the built-in big bright and ugly one...
According to the wiki the mark of darkness spell doesn't work on muspah because it says "If the target is a player, corruption will occur twice as often."
brother, you pause the video on the shield phase when you are doing your example kill. I lose track of the real time game ticks for when I need to smite even though you explain it very well it kinda puts me off. overall awesome guide though man!
I’ve killed this boss during the quest and I have 99 range but lower magic. I haven’t tried more then a few times but ended up teleporting out the last phase 3 diff times. I think now I could do it but I’m going to go finish training all combat stats to 99 before coming back because it’s just to hard without it.

I found it wasn't worth the inventory management to use a bolt pouch but it was neat to find there was a bolt pouch at all!

If you don't have a ring slot you can also bring a ring of recoil for 40 free damage

Great guide! I didn't know that mark of darkness also made npcs take 2x from corruption that helps a lot with bad rng
I switched to a 4 way switch and this let me have more time to not worry as much about a 6 way swap and not focusing prayers and mechanics. Good guide

did the whole thing with void ranged, ruby bolts, saffire and diamond :) worked fine

Great kills but using a dps calculator elite voids extra max hits are significantly more dps than the extra 1% accuracy given by karils

Instead of bringing a trident, can i just use ice barrage for dps as well?
You don't have to run around the room all the time in the mele phase. You can just simply move 2 tiles everytime so Muspah hits 0 every time.

as long as you move 2 tiles while praying and in melee phase, it will always hit a 0 on you @@ricardo8268

Why put in so much effort just to kill it again?
I recommend learning ranged only first. Once you're used to the boss mechanics you'll be more comfortable with switching
The boss is ez for me, until he does I guess what’s called locked down with his spikes
This boss just sucks yeah more gp than zulrah an vork...but takes way more attention.
This boss is only worth farming with tbow, Without it even zulrah is better cash per hour
