new way of using melodic sample by playing same note at different octave. It's very clever. And it works so well. and can become very crazy, like a spacehsip landing off. So cool. Thanks for this video.
Thanks for watching! And yes, this is one of my favorite things to do with the Texture Lab, especially with acoustic instrument samples, like the piano that I used in another part of this series.
This is pure musical magic. I love granular so much. Excellent job. It is scary and exciting how good granular can actually sound- putting so many pricey synths to shame when it comes to interesting, epic and unique sounds.
Thank you / you're welcome! I hope you have fun with it! If you're interested, I've got more demos over here (th-cam.com/play/PL_PpW7ZS8KCLhPoQdzU2uEiepJj-ubqAd.html) and more tutorials over here (th-cam.com/play/PL_PpW7ZS8KCI-QSj_AFR5DBRhy5G2S7-u.html). @@SonicCartography Hope you don't mind a question from someone new to this but one thing I can't figure out is once I've sampled and saved and then make changes to the parameter knobs, how do I write those changes back to the save slot? When I turn the unit off and back on it defaults to the original sample even though the knobs are in the same positions from the changes. It apparently ignores or zeroes out the knob positions. I know I can export to the computer via midi but is there no other way to save changes? Thanks!!
@@ps7365 hey, no worries! It sounds like you’ve answered your own question (yeah, you have to save them to the patterns, not the sample), but I’m happy to try to answer questions if I can!
Thank you! I'm glad you found me too! 🙂 And if you like the sound of the violin, I've actually used a violin in two of my videos - this one (th-cam.com/video/fK2fFMoJXXU/w-d-xo.html) and this one (th-cam.com/video/jGb2r-ddsgk/w-d-xo.html)

Texture lab is a beast
Indeed!
This is a great tutorial. I've just ordered the Texture Lab and will be putting this to use. Thanks for doing it!

Okay, so apparently I have to save a pattern, even with no notes, to get the edited sample saved.
