Most small UPS aren't designed for extended continuous duty run time. If you force them to run longer, You will over heat and kill them or it will shutdown itself if it has internal protection. Be careful.
use a ups that has built in coolers. the ones without fans are designed so the battery will run out before your trafo or inverter blows up. or even better, reach for a ups that has external battery connector

It is possible to charge the btry the charging time will increase only, another problem is that different AH battery cannot be connected in parallel. It may damage the low AH battery

I have replaced the 7ah battery to a 40ah car battery in my 600va UPS. The battery is fully charged. But I am not getting any extended backup time. The UPS turned off within a minute. What may be the possible cause? Appreciate if you provide the solution for it. Thanks in advance.
Cant use car batteries in a ups. Starter batteries (e.g. most automotive batteries) are designed to deliver short, high-current bursts for cranking the engine, while an inverter battery is a deep-cycle battery which is designed to be regularly deeply discharged using most of its capacity.
I did this with two different ups and checked battery voltage as it discharged. One of the UPS shut down after the battery reached around 10.2 V. The other UPS shut down exactly 15mins irrespective of battery voltage. So the conclusion is it's how the UPS is designed. Some ups shutdown based on battery voltage while others have a dedicated timer.
Adding and consuming such big battery is easy, But How long it will take to fully charge 150AH Battery by a ups circuit board which is actually designed just to charge 7AH Battery ? May be 10 to 15 days !!
Furthermore, there is no guarantee that the circuit will protect itself, when trying to charge a much bigger battery? I would worry that if the battery is significantly run down, when power comes back the circuitry might "blow up" (I mean burn out) trying to feed more current than it was designed to.
I added 180 AH Truck/Car's one year old battery to APC 650 but backup time is almost like same with 7AH Battery. May be my battery is weak or UPS is not recognizing MORE AMP capacity of 180AH battery. It 100% percent charges such huge Battery in couple of hours which is again strange.
its fine, just put a fan on it, doesnt matter if it takes a month to charge a 600ah battery or whatever, its supposed to be backup power, power goes out every half year or so, if it goes out every other day you should invest in a better solution
This is a good concept, but you're better off making a ups from scratch. Its alot more work and fairly pricey, but you'll get something much more safe if you tailor it to your needs. BMS, lifepo4 cells, etc etc. Theres a few vids that give good tips on how to do it safely! This video is great for showing a quick and dirty upgrade for the more daring (and less financially gifted).
A bike battery is a Li-Io Battery in most cases. This requires a different charge mechanism than a Lead battery. Even if it does work for a short period of time you will most likely kill your battery with the known possible side effects

No it works fine no problem for mother board if you select proper thickness of cable that goes to your UPS from battery, It is like replacing 7 Ltrs water tank with 100/150/180 Ltrs

Note: I am copy-pasting this comment on every ups battery video TODAY ( see date of comment) to get faster reply. Please if anybody knows it, please reply. While changing the cable of the 7AH lead acid battery (same one in video UPS) I have cut the Negative (Black) terminal (Not intentionally) head. So some part of it is still there in the battery which I can not connect Anything only multimeter to check the voltage and also not able to remove it as it is fixed. The UPS was in use for long time and so while opening it, the wire connected to the Negative terminal had white residue which I cleaned successfully after removing the wire. The fixed type of terminal broke while fitting the UPS back as before. Now, I cannot use the battery at all and it is in standby as cannot connect any wire to it. If anybody knows how to replace only the fixed terminal head, please reply.

Finally I Tried this and it has worked with APC 650 UPS on 180 AH Truck/Car Battery But either my battery is not good or UPS is not able to recognize that battery has 180AH capacity instead of 7AH, It still gives 15/20 minutes back up like 7AH Battery and charges the huge Battery of 18OAH in 2-3 Hours.

600 Volt Amps is 600 Watts providing that the Power Factor is 1.0. Motors and things with capacitance can make the current lead or lag. By rating the UPS by Volt Amps the manufacturer is including all ranges of unknowns..like the Power Factor. A 600 VA unit providing power to a load with .8 power factor is only good for 600 X 0.8 = 480 Watts before its overloaded.

Use a separate car battery charger to charge it and then connect it to the Ups. Using crocodile clips you can switch the battery easily.

It is most likely the "green mode" of the ups. It shuts down the UPS on low power consumption. On most models it can be switched of by software

Connect the solar panel to the Charger controler, the batery to the ouput of the controler and the UPS to te batery
charging current only 1 amp how long will charge
it means if your battery is a 30AH, it can provide you a backup time 0f 30 hours with a connected load of 1Ampeer to the ups.

Anyone who are confused about this ideas. 600va UPS can charge a battery up to 150ah. 850va up to 200ah but 850va will charge a 150ah faster then by 600va.

While changing the cable of the 7AH lead acid battery (same one in video UPS) I have cut the Negative (Black) terminal (Not intentionally) head. So some part of it is still there in the battery which I can not connect Anything only multimeter to check the voltage and also not able to remove it as it is fixed.
The UPS was in use for long time and so while opening it, the wire connected to the Negative terminal had white residue which I cleaned successfully after removing the wire. The fixed type of terminal broke while fitting the UPS back as before.
Now, I cannot use the battery at all and it is in standby as cannot connect any wire to it.
If anybody knows how to replace only the fixed terminal head, please reply.

Yes it works as shown in original post but check how many battery/batteries your UPS originally has. amp/Hr is not a big issue ,one has to take care of voltage

You're supposed to install a DC 12v fan inside the ups.i think ups got damaged because of overheating
600va ups takes 36hrs to charge a 32ah battery
Isko mat samjao yaar.......ye sabse bada electrician hai. Aaj tak kisi pata he nhi tha k 150ah battery b lag sakti hai UPS me. Abe inverter he le aata PC k liye.
Finally I Tried this and it has worked with APC 650 UPS on 180 AH Truck/Car Battery
But either my battery is not good or UPS is not able to recognize that battery has 180AH capacity instead of 7AH, It still gives 15/20 minutes back up like 7AH Battery and charges the huge Battery of 18OAH in 2-3 Hours.
You cant use car batteries in a ups. Starter batteries (e.g. most automotive batteries) are designed to deliver short, high-current bursts for cranking the engine, while an inverter battery is a deep-cycle battery which is designed to be regularly deeply discharged using most of its capacity.

600va mean ?
600 Volt Amps is 600 Watts providing that the Power Factor is 1.0. Motors and things with capacitance can make the current lead or lag. By rating the UPS by Volt Amps the manufacturer is including all ranges of unknowns..like the Power Factor. A 600 VA unit providing power to a load with .8 power factor is only good for 600 X 0.8 = 480 Watts before its overloaded.
